Open the curtains, neets.
>retards go out of their way to change literally every computer interface they use to a dark color scheme.
>text editor, web browser, specific web pages, email client dark dark dark
>see a light color scheme
>"wtf my eyes ow"
yeah no shit you fucking braindead retard YOU MADE IT LIKE THIS
"wtf my eyes hurt when I leave my basement from the sun better stay in my basement all day every day."
I use Solarized Light, there are no good light color schemes out there and dark color scheme sucks if you have anything else on the screen.
it hurts my eyes to switch between white stackoverflow and Eclipse
I like light themes but if I use dark ones can I stay in my basement forever?
kill yourself fucking weeb
Mac Classic is decent.
> animu website
Get out
>2017
>implying its a weeb site
go back to 2003 dinosaur
>/e/, /h/ and /m/ have japanese names
>Sup Forums has some anime elements therefore it's all about anime
Off, cockroach. Give me one (1) global rule proving this is an anime website.
...
Go back to your /dpt/ containment thread, /prog/fugee.
It's just a general purpose editor.
>stackoverflow
>eclipse
>java
what's good pajeet?
Still it is an animu themed website u cant complain if I put some chinese cartoon on my reply.
If it was totally offtopic is fine get mad

dunno lads, while using light themes my eyes gets tired faster...
dark colours just feels "easy" on my eyes
It's aliased Monaco. Standard on Macs since 1988.
>implying its not a weeb site
back to 9gag
I find bright text on a dark background more readable.
go home mobo ur drunk
...
shut up mei
nearly all research done on readability differences is 30 years out of date, conducted poorly, focused entirely on CRT monitors, or all of the above. we don't have any data suggesting one is objectively better than the other. the only objective answer we do have is that a bright screen in dark illumination will strain the eyes more than a darker screen.
other than that it seems like it's individual preference. some people will find dark-on-light hard to read even in dark illuminations while others will find light-on-dark to be fatiguing even in bright office lighting.
basically what i'm saying is that this is a shitflinging contest and not really a discussion. the theme equivalent of:
>using the color red
I seriously hope you don't do this.
light+pastel is best
...
red is cool but brown is objectively shit though
It's nighttime.
My eyes are photosensitive to excessive brightness in a manner that results in incapacitation through chronic migraines. I've gotta wear goddamn sunglasses at all hours of the day, and that's not even enough. I respect you if you want to use a light theme, but for the sake of my health, I can't.
why aren't you sleeping?
>he wants to hurt his eyes in the dark
when will eyelets learn?
seriously though:
>not using a bash script with a cronjob to automatically switch between light/dark themes
It gets dark earlier in the winter (or summer, or not at all, depends on location).
>he doesn't use hacker green text on pitch black background
Holy fuck these guys are surely to fail at life
if you're latitude cucked you can still turn on light
>not using a medium theme
It's like you hate readability regardless of time of day.
It's way easier to recognize highlighted parts of a codebase on a dark background than vice versa.
>just a dark theme
also nice autistic tabs
Yeah, and then fuck with your ability to sleep.
It's not pitch black like some of you fags use. I have a huge window right behind where I sit and this is the perfect brightness for all times of day.
i used to do that then i started going out and using my devices outside
i fucking wish this was 1/10 as good as /prog/.
HAX MY ANUS
You just try sitting staring at a bright white screen typing away for hours and not have eye strain or dry eyes, won't work, that's why I use dark themes.
Eclipse isn't just Java, though I have to say it is most likely the laggiest IDE, probably the firefox

Go to these boards instead asshole
show me your boipuccy, faggot.
What WM are you using?
Sorry cutie, blue board
Light themes just make more sense when nearly everything is designed for them.
There were also studies done in the 80s showing computer displays work better with dark on light.
It's still a regular ass dark theme ya dingus
MY FUCKING EYES!
Don't you get distracted by that animated banner constantly in view?
What wm is that?
>not using acme or sam with a dark theme
>light theme
you're pretty much staring at a light bulb with bright colors for hours.
where do you get your anime girls? what board? and can you invite to any/all of those dickscords?
acme is better
use acme now
>/m/echa
I never knew that was a Jap word.
solarized light master race reporting in.
Yeah, heaven forbids anyone actually talks about technology instead of consumerism.
Go fuck yourself.
Dark + Light is the way to go.
Actually that's not a wm but thats how sam is.
programming isn't technology, it's mathematics
do you think oil refining belongs on /o/ because "lol cars use gas"?
uh... Aqua? It's stock OS X Sierra
Yeah, I kind of suspected that, judging by the chrome. I just saw the CDE buttons and kind of hoped it was some kind of weird mishmash of CDE motifs turned into an FVWM theme.
even tho cde buttons look close to Mac OS ones, they're pretty different
>programming is mathematics
Clearly you're a Sup Forumsirgin who's too stupid to program. Programming is not mathematics. It's engineering. Programming has more in common with the culinary arts than it does with math. Read a recipe and then read some number theory, then tell me which one resembles a programming language closer.
A thread about automobile engineering would belong on /o/.
what monitor are you using?
Thats not the same thing. Also why do you give a fuck ?
Not him, but programming has, in my opinion, a lot to do with math.
>implying technology itself isn't applied mathematics and mathematical logic combined with electromagnetism.
go back to masturbating over graphics cards you fucking mongoloid
Sup Forums is about consumerism
Are you dumb?
Programming is definitely more technology related than your latest cpu or video card purchase.
>it hurts my eyes to switch between white stackoverflow and Eclipse
for chrome there's an addon called "Dark Mode" which applies dark themes to all websites, google it.
>Booriyaku (kana spells out nooryaku)
not a word
>Naginata
Is a weapon, not transport
>Keisatsu
japanese word for police, not weapon
>Doujin
doesn't explicitly refer to hentai
>/m/echa
mecha isn't a japanese word, also it's written メカ because it's borrowed from english
are these really what the boards were originally named? these don't make any sense
poor display of weebness regardless
my apartment view is a bridge exit ramp
I'd rather not have people staring into my room waiting for the light to turn green
>iris confusion
Yeah because contrast is so fucking confusing
So its my fault that over the course of the last decade Microsoft has adopted complete white backgrounds for everything in their ui and that most websites have followed?
No, no user. People using dark themes do so because of lacunae in modern ui design.
You're a faggot who should kys back over to plebbit.
Dark keyboard + dark clover ;^)
Dark theme gives me better battery life on my Galaxy s6
1% more

>emulating paper on technology
If you can read anything just as fine while subjecting your eyes to less light why wouldnt you.
light text on dark backgrounds reads worse
How do you change the buttons?
github.com
that's objectively a subjective statement
Dark themes look gross
Except Vim's default. That one is nice. I like the purple colors.
