Possibly. While discord is running, it is monitoring your active applications, and if it detects a has matching one that is known to its frequently updated database it will push those notifications that you are playing x to your friends.

Listen if you have the games in the browser it wont detect them but if it opens up in a new window it probably will. Discord does detect most games but you can still rename it or disable that function. Also I suggest covering it up by saying you were being ironic like everyone does.

It will actually, if you click on "add a game" it'll show all .exe files that you ran on your PC. It just doesn't show them as the "playing" status since it only shows gaymes.

I know on Linux all it does is run a ps and checks the program names against a database of games. You can fool it by running an executable that sets a custom $0 somewhere.
I've played games before that it hasn't detected. I'm not sure what determines if it's detected or not.
Simple solution:
Run the game for 5 seconds and check discord. If it's there, it's there. If it's not, it's not.
