I converted all my MP3's to FLAC and they sound way fucking better now.
Holy shit, why haven't I don't this before?
Thank you Sup Forums - Technology.

Good job. Happy for you, user. Enjoy. :)
fake news
You sound like you should be a great addition to our dedicated music site. Please kind sir donate one time fee of 0.05BITCOIN to apollo.rip for lifetime membership!
This isn't funny
I actually torrented a .flac album that had been done like that.
>Neil Young's greatest hits.
I could tell it was hokey as soon as I burned a cd and listened to it on my stereo.
Spek scpectrum analyzer confirmed.
Couldn't really notice a difference on my computer speakers tho.
320kbps ought to be enough for everyone.
Sounds like a dead website desu
>He doesn't use Opus for all of his music
>He doesn't use de-artifacting.
>He fell for the higher than 44.1khz 16bit sounds better meme (Yeah boi I love listening to frequency's and dynamic range I can't hear)
Going to listen to that flac on a radio cassette faggot ? Haha
actually, saving your money in digital currencies will degrade the integrity over time due to recessional velocidensity. for instance an initial amount of 128 bit coins will become 96 bits just after 3 months and you'll be looking at half of it in under a year. that's why I just converted all my savings into analog currencies.
Yes I got some nice tripdubs
t. inflated nala
Only because mp3 has shitty compression.
This shit is funny and dumb at the same time.
Thanks for the laugh.
>Wait isn't a paper bitcoin wallet analog?
How? Explain this shit to me.
I still have about a half dozen "mixtape" cds friends have burned for me from 128kb/s mp3s from limewire or some such shit. I kept them in a drawer because I'd hate to hurt their feelings.
>Converted lossy MP3 to FLAC
>they sound way fucking better now
Why are you such a faggot OP?
>Limewire
Is it .mp3 at the end or .mp3 with a hidden .exe?
>listening to frequency's and dynamic range I can't hear
you must be the same ignorant memeing such disinformation over and over in every audio compression thread.
just reaching out for those who actually care about correct information, ad/da conversion at higher sampling rates ensures you suppress those high frequency components so that the aliases of the original signal at harmonic frequencies won't mix with your signal in the audible range that much and cause less cross modulation distortion. whether there is enough dacs, amps, and speaker equipment on the market with which you could notice significant difference or how much of the population is capable of noticing it is another question.
>ensures you suppress those high frequency components so that the aliases of the original signal at harmonic frequencies won't mix with your signal in the audible range that much and cause less cross modulation distortion
Explain how that mixing happens.
Guess why a lossless codec is called LOSSLESS.
Most adults don't even fucking hear 16khz anymore.
I know that shit you idiot, with analog its fucking normal that shit mixes up unless you are having lots of daddy money and spend 500k on fucking amps.
Digital frequency and the things that DIGITALY PROCESSES audio DO NOT INTERFERE WITH THE AUDIO SIGNALS.
That mixing happens a very tiny bit at the very upper audible spectrum that most bats can't hear.
Its a meme some fall for in the audiophile community.
A flac, A good amp and a nice set of headphones is the best you can get.
>Hurr durr BUT BUT
STFU Most speakers have a HTD of 1% to 15%
you should be able to understand it quite easily upon reading any analog and digital signal processing textbook. for instance if you've got an amp whose amplification isn't perfectly linear, just like any real world amp, its non linear response will alter the shape of an amplified sine wave at a single frequency of f1 which means it will have some components at 2*f1, 3*f1 and so on in its frequency spectrum. assume the same thing happens for another frequency of f2. in fact, this holds for all frequencies. then sampling this signal with such non linear amplification would cause frequency components like 2*f1-f2 to occur which falls well within the audible range, i.e. lower than both 2*f1 and 2*f1.
>Digital frequency and the things that DIGITALY PROCESSES audio DO NOT INTERFERE WITH THE AUDIO SIGNALS
was about to take the message seriously until it went full retard bait mode, enjoy spreading disinformation, there's nothing we can do about your sick hobby.
Just save your crypto in SSDs and you'll be alright, only HDDs suffer from rotational velocidensity problems.
If you get headaches fast skip till safe.
The only time you need to have higher sampling rates is when you need to downsample masters to like cd, the bit depth of 16 bit currently can make 96.33dB SNR and 24 bit does 144.49dB SNR but most humans have a "Natural Low pass filter :)" that is like 10db average?
In old audio you are right and I am trying to tell you that but we are talking about Digital audio and all that Digital mixing crap. Yeah I apoligize for my language :(
Safe (don't read this)
I am a audiophile myself you nigger, no wonder I have fucking 200 dollar dac in my laptop that supports 600ohm headphones with
Shit forgot to tag
>What is digital optical out/SPDIF/HDMI/USB?
>we live in a world where pcm bit streams miraculously convert themselves into analogue audio signals
>I converted all my MP3's to FLAC and they sound way fucking better now.
Is this a troll?
this has to be a troll, or a genuine idiot.
or I may be a genuine idiot.
>mp3 = lossy
>flac = lossless
>converting mp3 -> flac = lossless?
how did the conversion to flac format un-lose the data that was lost in a lossy mp3 compression?
For any difference wouldnt you need to convert a lossless format such as wave into a lossless format?
Audio conversion always either results in the same quality, or a loss of quality. it can't magically un-lose lost data upon conversion
or is flac some sort of magic?
Once I did a ABX with my hd600. 128kbps vs FLaC. And I could hear a difference.
>being this new
>ask an "audiophile" to pick between flac and mp3 without a spectrum analyzer
>he starts crying
Now try 320 encoded from your flac.
Don't thank us, thank Jesus.
But what analog currencies?
I just started downloading music as FLAC instead of WAV becaus flac is more tag friendly. Whats the difference between the two in terms of audio? They're both lossless right?
