Kapersky released a new Free AV

But is it really free? what is the catch?
Will it be good or it will be your average shitty AV trying to get you buy a subscription?

...

Putin gets to see your loli porn for free.

So here is the trap.

...

...

>But is it really free?
Russian backdoor on millions of PCs? Better investment in modern warfare than aircraft carriers.

welp, that's spooky.

...

every fucking software today has that same ToS. Windows 10 is 10x worse. Go look it up.

anyway, you sound like a CIA nigger who doesn't want people to be protected.

Most ToS are bad, nothing to overreact about.
Chrome literally owns you if you install chrome.
If you agree to accept any Apple ToS you will never be able to build any nuclear device legally.
Microchip can Audit you at any hour.
If you accept Sony ToS you cant sue them for anything.
Windows and Apple only allow one backup per computer.
And so on.

...

...

...

And the rest is shit already mentioned.
It can be opted out so nothing to worry about.

The program is really slow in general and bloated, a uneeded extension was installed in the browser that loaded ads over uBlock Origin.

Thisv thread implies that American made products are any better.
In fact, we all know they are worse.
Hypocrisy here? Never.

Go back please

Background scanning cant be turned off at all which is considered bloat for some and why people like Malwarebytes.
The program only has a 32bit version, no 64bit.
And the fucker is still stuck trying to scan.

And apparently running it somehow killed Paint crop option.
It uses a huge amount of resources, unlike Malwarebytes sub 30% it uses between 75 to 100% of the CPU and is way slower.

>mfw
You know man, life is a lot easier without those anger shades man. You can just take them off man and enjoy life man. Go outside man, meet a nice girl that makes you happy, fall in love, have a family, man. Live life. Read a book man, enjoy yourself. Be your own man, man.

Well i think thats it, the scan wont end soon and the program is shit, nothing special about it, as expected of something "free".
19 Hours to scan about 40GB of stuff.

>2017
>Still using an OS that needs an AV
Really?
Do you like being reamed?
The people who make most money out of Windows are those who sell AV "solutions".

>If you accept Sony ToS you cant sue them for anything.
Most tech companies, cellular providers, and banks now include arbitration clauses

>using Windows outside a VM
pathetic.

>antivĂrus
>freeware
It's 2007 again

there was an interview with charles petzold where he insinuated that microsoft was always considering the interests of AV makers when designing the os. They want a nice infectable architecture in order to enable the AV market to flourish.

>What's the catch?
It causes you to become a slav
also botnet

Where do you even download this? The only link everyone's sharing just redirects you to their main site, is it not live in the US yet?

>If you agree to accept any Apple ToS you will never be able to build any nuclear device legally.
does this include a tactical nuke in case someone violates the NAP?

> statistical and administrative nature
> bla bla bla bla
> immediately de-activate the Kaspersky Security Network service

At least it DOESNT FUCKING UPLOAD FILES WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. It's just basic telemetry

nobody does that you liar

kaspersky.com/downloads
Check the free tools section.

Yes.

Malwarebytes, Adwcleaner is freeware, no trial.

and it literally won't do shit.

I don't know why these retarded lawyers try.

it's like these random non-competes in employment contracts.

>too stupid to use pastebin

How do you intend for AV vendors to keep getting samples if the clients dont upload them

Still don't see it, I'm guessing it's not available yet

do they really say that apple tos?

The free Kapersky is made from analyzing all of the NSA leaks that happened over the last year.

Its going to tell you when it detects known NSA malware signatures.

Its a form of propaganda to destabilize the American trust in it's leadership.

Word is it's almost impossible to run windows with it because of this feature. It's constantly stopping the NSA-backdoor ed windows processes from running

putin botnet

White and based?

Putin is the good guy. Drumpf is the bad guy.
What else do you need to see to understand this?

Will there continue to be a paid for version of Kaspersky?

I've ben paying for the Internet security version on and off for a few years, since I've found it to be the best at detecting actual infections (bloatware aside).

I'm going the paid version will be less telemetry as with other software.

something something data collecting yada yada yada muh no free meal

Are these different from the non free version?

No it's/they are not.
Also I am sure most applies only if you tick "KSN" which is literally a botnet and it tells you right off the bat.

Of course.
> best at detecting actual
Nah, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, and all the rest works like a charm. The problem is that most of these "great detection rate" softwares simply delete/block every suspicious object.
Like cracks, keygens, etc. Even if they have no threat in them. These programs also love to act on their own.
This is why I use ESET, at least it asks me / respects my exclusions. Bitdefender for example allows NO control whatsoever.

Windows 10 already includes an antivirus. I don't need a new one.

What is Free Bitdefender's policy?

same, but it's much dumber.
then again Kaspersky may kill this new product anytime as well.

google.com/search?q=best free av

What's the difference to for example the Avast ToS?

No thanks, I have a brain.

> AV trying to get you buy a subscription
It does, but it's not that invasive, one window after logging in.

all the free products suck.
Avast was good, but it false flags literally everything that it just can. And it also failed to find real threats in my experience.
Other products always had some ads, shadiness to them. This Kaspersky thing looks good, way too good.

However at its current form, it kills the paid version, so I wonder what Kaspersky will do. They didn't think this through.

> it kills the paid version, so I wonder what Kaspersky will do
Nuh-huh. It's in their SLA, using free version is prohibited for enterprise users.

>Joining a Russian botnet willingly

Lmao

...

>russian pigs with their free malware
American and Ukraine's goverment did the right thing to block this scam software.

The Apple Macbook Pro with Retina Display doesn't have this problem.

Damn. Downloading now.

Doesn't BitDefender had a "free" version of it's AV which is actually good and lightweight?

I'm starting my masters degree in nuclear physics next week and i used itunes when i was 12/13. am i fucked?

>FSB Botnet
nice job FSB

Yes
It also always ranks among the first places on malware detection

This is standard stuff. All license agreements read like this.

Works fine for me.
Yes it's the same engine as the rest of their products.

Why are you using the old Version. Is it better than the new one?

I installed it and never bothered with it and it never notified me of anything. Is there a new UI? Updates work normally.

I agree I got a bitdefender crack and realized the same thing. Blocks every fucking thing in it's sight.

Looks like it on the Website.
bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html
It looks like only the web component is new. Not sure if it's worth it.

Yep seems like they added webthreats and just modernized the UI, which are of no use to me really. Maybe I'll update it if I'm super bored.

How much RAM does the Kasperksy one need. Bitdefender uses 400mb on my machine.

>But is it really free? what is the catch?
Other than it being literally and unironically a Russian intelligence service front company produced trojan that turns your computer into part of a GRU botnet?!

Jesus fucking Christ people. Kasperky is literally and unironically a Russian intelligence front company.

What are some actual decent free antiviruses (besides common sense)?

>Windows is a US botnet
>Kaspersky AV is Russian botnet
>They cancel each other out
>??????
>profit?

>opera is chinese botnet
>kaspersky is russian botnet
>windows is american botnet
