That's right, I'd like to have to reboot my computer 2 times a day to update my system, have viruses, have my information gathered and have shit performance.
John Cook
>good windows experience
well you clearly don't do anything important
Adrian Taylor
You don't have those forced updates?
Anyway, windows 10 usability is abysmal. I do things faster and better on my comfy Xubuntu and haven't looked back. Try a decent distro for real before you discard Linux. If you're not baiting anyway.

>have my information gathered If you have an internet connection you have your information gathered.
>have shit performance Really? You're going to tell me now how to: 1. Have any DE running with composition enabled (you can pick your poison, compton, compiz, KWin, whatever) 2. Have some game (let's take CS:GO for instance, which a lot of people jerk off about on loonix) run at at least 70% the speed of what you would get on -any- modern Windows version 3. Not have the fucking thing microstutter like crazy
Because I couldn't really do it.
The only thing closest to Windows as a DE is KDE, and that actually has microstutters too. Why is it that I can use a computer to play some stupid shit like GTA V, max it out (except for advanced settings) and get it working better than fucking browsing on a fancy desktop? Performance my ass.

>Wrong, and you have to do this fairly frequently on the average desktop focused linux distro too, unless you use some live kernel patching service (like hell is any normie going to know about that one) You absolutely don't have to reboot a computer running GNU/Linux as much as you have to reboot a computer running Windows. You even have to reboot your computer to install or uninstall some programs on Windows :^)
>Yeah, you could also be a little bit careful about the trash you use or download. Even if you are careful you will almost always end up having malware on your computer running Windows. I don't have this problem with GNU/Linux.

Not have the fucking thing microstutter like crazy I don't care about the speed of your games, when I am just using Firefox on a Windows machine it will sometimes just hang because Windows is so slow. >You even have to reboot your computer to install or uninstall some programs on Windows :^)
What programs even? If you don't have to tamper with system files or can run anything as a service there's no need. Heck you don't even need to restart after installing drivers anymore since Win7.
>Even if you are careful you will almost always end up having malware on your computer running Windows. I don't have this problem with GNU/Linux.
What better way to avoid problems than staying at home until you die, right
>True if you don't have a VPN, but it won't be send to (((Microsoft))), only to your ISP.
Or canonical, or 20 billion things you can use on a linux distro as well. Fuck even Mozilla these days.
>when I am just using Firefox on a Windows machine it will sometimes just hang because Windows is so slow. That's the same computer as where I am now typing this on, which runs flawlessly with GNU/Linux.

A distro that should be running perfectly on netbooks, with an ancient browser that should be smooth as butter. Yet apparently a 4460+280x aren't enough. Heck Chromium is smoother.
>That's because KDE is bloat. 15 years ago it was. How is it that in 2017 you have to even give the slightest shit about KDE not performing flawlessly? In 2010 it should. We're talking about a desktop. I cannot fathom that you would need a rig to have a fancy desktop and a good browsing experience, while at the same time shitting on macfags because they essentially spend the same money for the same experience.
Wait no, they can actually use -some- decent software suites.

>that's stupid, it depends from your hardware and how did you configured your shit. It's possible, but completely irresponsible to let your computer lagging by running a source game in 2017.
No shit it's stupid. I tried amdgpu, I tried radeon, dri2, dri3, same settings. "Configure it so it works" seems so simplistic when you pretty much spend a whole 2 weeks trying to find out why this is the case instead of assuming that there is indeed just inferior performance and there's little you can do about it other than fucking writing your own driver yourself or maybe a new fucking display server.
>why the fuck whould you use a windows interface on linux? why the fuck would you just use linux in first place if you're good on windows? shit dude do whatever you want but learn by yourself from what do you truly want and what you need to do to get it.
I guess we'd rather not experiment with anything so we can't come up with an argument as to why we don't take any alternatives (or maybe we should be dishonest and say "it's shit, it's shit!"). Really it's not hard to take a suggestion and maybe try. And maybe even try hard enough that when you have an issue, you start looking for a fix rather than drop it, but at some point, when it's every single fucking year to check if finally things have progressed to a point where you can drop what you had, it becomes a legit waste of time, and that has been linux for me.
