HK and SG both have low tax, no minimum wage, and majority southern Chinese population (+ southern Chinese food) and are super urbanized, ex-British colony, and hates the Mainland. Developing countries or young countries, however, dont have it. Not only Singapore but for instance in Korea also people easily get arrested and fired if they release a positive statement about imperial Japan or Japan in the colonial era in public, even though its not related to a violent act at all.
