Lowest Speed is 100Mbps for $69/mo

>Lowest Speed is 100Mbps for $69/mo
>Only other option is 300Mbps for $120/mo

Is this the most retarded company ever?

Fuck monopolies.

I get 32 kb/s so fuck I'm in. Not only that but it goes out constantly.

Spectrum offers 50/5 and 100/10 in my area
I went with 100/10 because 5mbps upload is pathetic in 2017
I support them offering decent minimum speed, though I wish it was cheaper
Such is life in usa

Also Spectrum here. I got 100/10 for $64.99

I don't even need that much but they only offer me 10/1 for $49.99 (lmao)

I used to be the 3/1 ELP but I couldn't handle that shit no more, it was grandfathered in so I can't even go back if I wanted to

I was on a TWC plan for years till they were sold off to Shittrum.

I was on a $39/mo plan which was perfect now these fuckers fucked me in the ass.

Who the fuck needs more then 100Mbps

Nigga I don't even need 100Mbps.

I just want something like 30-50Mbps for $40 like I used to.

I think this is their last effort before cable companies go belly up due to services like DirecTV Now, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc.

I only need 20-35Mbps but they don't offer it

>Lowest Speed is 100Mbps for $69/mo
highest speed i can get is 60 for that price

fuck upstate nyc

>10/1 for 50 bucks
>tfw 10/1 for 9.99 euros
feels slavic man

how the fuck are you getting it at that price. are you still on their special promo plan? im paying $105 a month for 100/10(ultra)

>tfw 1Gbps

Upgrading from 3/1 to 100/10 soon

its like walking into the future

>American internet
1000/100 for 35 €/month, plus unlimited calls and a 4g sim with 5GB/day. It's good to live in civilized countries where internet is a commodity like water.

Fuck you desu

>tfw

...

The one I'm on is just called Spectrum Internet, former TWC Maxx area here in SoCal

ah ok i forgot. your area ls likely one of the mazz areas

Pro tip: Spectrum is owned by a French telecom giant Altice

lmao
do you live on an island

that shit looks slower than satellite internet.

fuck my shit up senpai. well at least its stable and never get drop. always get the 100/10 speeds

It's a WISP in colorado.

Ausfag here.
Your internet is pathetic.

Fucking frogs.

I knew it!

Those fuckers.

I am from a European country where you have like 3-4$ as avg wage and I would buy the 100mbps package.
The fuck is wrong with you, OP?

>Australia mocking anyone else's ISPs

hilarious

Expensive internet is the first sign of a third world country.

>upstate nyc
What the duck

>1Gbps
>No data cap
>60 Burger dollar

Feels good in Asia

?

oh. i get it
upstate ny

...

I can't get any internet where I live haha! I live in the US too

...

I had fios in 2008 and moved a mile down the road and lost it. These lazy shits don't lay new fiber anymore.

I've had them for a decade at 3 different houses.

Also they recently blight several thousand kilometers of fiber. So you might get lucky enough to be in one of their new expansion areas.

>recently blight several
*recently bought several

Idk if it's Verizon but SOMEONE has been laying a fuck-ton of fiber around here in Maryland. And FiOS is the only fiber provider in the area besides comcast's new fiber service. So it's likely one or the other.

Feels good man
$7 for 100/100
Or
$12 for 600/100

How it feels to have ping over 100ms?

> 1Gbps
> No data cap
> 15 burger dollars

Sucks to be Asian I guess.

> play Overwatch with 150ms ping and 50% packet loss
> finally made it into Gold rank
> this is my moment, mom I am going to be the no.1 player!
> suddenly connection drops out
> wtf
> go outside
> the fucking kangaroo ripped out the entire pole from the ground
> there goes my career

Pics or it didn't happen

>100Mbps for $69/mo
That price isn't too bad to me.

>Lowest Speed is 100Mbps for $69/mo
hey that's my plan

digi.hu/ajanlat/internet/lan

If you are not covered by that provider:
upc.hu/internet/internet-ajanlatok/24-honapos-szerzodessel/

It's 21 bucks then.

> inb4 but Hungary sucks
rcs-rds.ro/
That's Romania. But to be honest, every country in Europe has god-tier internet speeds and no data caps. ISPs basically built Fiber-to-home or at least Fiber-to-residential-building out, so they can provide almost unlimited speeds for cheap.

>1000/200mbps
Why so jewed on upload?

Dunno, jews being jews I guess.
Like with DSL, DOCSIS it's understandable. But with FTTH (fiber)...
Digi uses a 1gbps lan cable from their switch, while Invitel simply pulls a fiber into your home and connects that into the modem itself.

I prefer the lan method, easier to fix, less prone to break.

I have FTTH in the US, i prefer having an ONT unit at my house that converts to Ethernet.

That way when they upgrade to 10gbps+ they just replace my ONT with a newer one. With Ethernet they need to run CAT6a replacing all the old CAT5e. It's not hugely expensive but it takes time. Whereas my ISP would just take out the old ONT and replace it with a new one. Then change out the ~6 feet of CAT5e with CAT6a.

Both options are good, but one is easier to upgrade.

> 10gbps upgrade
yeeeeeeeeeeeah
I don't think that's gonna happen soon, 1gbps is still the fastest option... it will be years IMO 'til they migrate. With that said I am 100% happy if I have 100mbps upload/download, that's like more than enough for anything.

My ISP is doing backbone upgrades currently to support 40/10gbps and eventually 80/40gbps. With plans to offer symmetric 10/10gbps by ~2021

desu we have it good. the US and Australia needs upgrades real fucking quick.
the US is like a third world shithole when it comes to internet. quite sad IMO.

There are one or two ISPs in the US that have announced plans for 10gbps by about 2020, so it's not too far off. Though it'll be awhile before those speeds become achievable for residential customers.

>the US is like a third world shithole when it comes to internet
Works decently for me

USA, as a whole, with all those flyover states, has 10th fastest internet in the world.

Facts.

Oops, those are by states, which BTFO 99% of Yurocuck nations.

I meant in general. I am aware of a few exceptional providers with great speeds. But the "normal internet" that is available to the wide public is much worse. Data caps, the monopoly by shit providers, huge pings, high subscription fee, etc.

What about data caps though? It's not even a thing in Europe for example since 2000-2005 or so.

>It's not even a thing in Europe

Except it is. Seen plenty of Yuro ISP's with data caps.

Data caps don't exist with FTTH in the US.

Even Comcast, the worst offender in all this, doesn't have data caps on their FTTH service.

> plenty of yuro ISPs
Never even met a person in the past 10 years who even had one. Mobile internet, yeah. But normal? No.
extremetech.com/internet/232988-us-internet-speeds-jump-but-still-lag-worldwide-ookla
Even here the US is quite behind:
fastmetrics.com/internet-connection-speed-by-country.php#top-10-europe-africa
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Internet_connection_speeds
Weird. Then again I am no anti-US, it's just one other country in the world. Just saying that they could catch up.

FTTH is not widespread/not the norm though. There is no cap here (DSL, Cable, wireless).

Either way you're definitely on the spectrum

Look at all that outdated data. Mine is from Q1 2017.

Here are speeds from a great Yuro ISP, with data caps.

> grab a random speedtest from 2016.01.01
What the heck, man?
> let's download porn, do a test, and post a screenshot about it
Also the country you picked is New-Arabia. It's dead son. RIP.

Some more great Yuro ISP's.

Again, these retarded redditors from Sup Forums swear everyone in Yurop has gigabit.

Come to think of it, hardly anyone in Yurop has 1/1gig internet.

>FTTH is not widespread/not the norm though. There is no cap here (DSL, Cable, wireless)
Fair enough but if you look at regions of the US with similar population density to your country, it's a LOT closer than you're pretending. Yes FTTH doesn't exist in many areas of the country, but our country is the same size as Europe with less than half the population. Of course our internet isn't as good, it would be prohibitively expensive to even try to match Europe.

US states already beat Yuro nations by a wide margin.

>2015
>slower than 91% of FR
Who are you trying to fool?

And here are the "amazing" internet speeds from Yurop.

I'm in Maryland about 20 minutes north of Wasington DC.

The internet around here beats pretty much any European nation.

NZ has fiber to post of the country and most of it is capable of gigabit.

Additionally, ISPs are very competitive here. This costs me $80 a month, no data cap.

Come home white man.

Verizon provides TRUE 1/1gig internet.

In Yurocuck land, their "gigabit" internet is like 500/200, or 1/500 or some BS. Never true 1/1 like ATT, Verizon, and other American ISP's.

>This costs me $80 a month, no data cap.

$70 no data cap here in the US

Nice although, still have to live in a non-white ghetto :/

Yup, that's one good thing I've noticed. US fiber providers don't fuck around with speeds.

Verizon actually provisions 1024/1024mbps at the OLT. Comcast provisions ~2256mbps for their 2gbps service.

Uhh? I live in Potomac Maryland. One of the wealthiest suburbs in the nation.

>Germany
>finally upgrade from 2/0.4 to 16/1 (still paying 20€)
>still get terrible speeds on a lot of websites bc of shitty servers
at least p2p works well I guess. but goddamn, what do people even do with 100 Mbps? I can't even keep up with the amount of stuff I'm downloading now

Yeah but its a non-white nation :\

Lol, when they're living in a $2.5M house and driving $50k+ cars, what's really the difference? All the nonwhites around here are gentrified to fuck and might as well be white for how they act.

The reason the northern states have faster internet speeds is because like in many European countries, these states have higher population densities and a higher percentage of the population live in the cities. But because the US is huge, the fly over states with lower population densities spread out over a huge area of land lowers the average internet speed.

I bet in the rural areas of many European countries their speeds aren't that great.

Actually Comcast in the northeastern states like NJ doesn't have data caps. I don't think Charter and spectrum have data caps either. My ISP optimum doesn't have data caps.

How much more expensive is it for the provide you a faster connector?

They would have to upgrade and expand their equipment at their end if everyone actually started to use their allotted bandwidth 24/7?

Fiber infrastructure construction is in the works in my city, it won't actually happen for a while though. Maybe I'll be able to use fiber before I'm a skeleton

Hopefully they don't jew you on service once it's available

I guess you could say that they are on the... spectrum.

Kekd

We should nationalize natural monopolies like internet service providers. You can only have monopolies with ISPs as it's too much work to have multiple internet infrastructures under the same ground.

I agree desu, just make it state run and all profits are funneled directly back into the network infrastructure.

>Again, these retarded redditors from Sup Forums swear everyone in Yurop has gigabit.
We don't?

plenty pretend as if gigabit is widely available. Sure it's more widespread than the US, but the majority still don't have gigabit access, and those who do generally don't see full gigabit speeds like we do in the US (for those of us with gigabit anyway).

>be french
>never heard of Altice
>looks on Wikipedia
>its a Dutch company

American education never cease to amaze me

>Comcast provisions ~2256mbps for their 2gbps service
Who do I need to blow for this?

>founded and headed by the French billionaire Patrick Drahi, and the second largest telecoms company in France, behind Orange.

I honestly think most (average) people would be satisfied with just 100mbps. Even with a 4-5 person family 100mbps would be enough even with everyone streaming shit at the same time. It's the data caps that really suck.

I have 200mbps down/35 Mbps up and It was more than fast enough to download/upload a few TBs of data in one month. I don't feel like I will ever really need 1gbps unless I just wanted to dick measure speedtest rankings.

I upgraded from 150/150mbps to 1/1gbps and honestly the difference is noticeable and much nicer. With 4 heavy internet users on 150/150mbps it was painfully obvious when someone was downloading a torrent or steam game, or similar. With 1gbps the source server is usually going to be saturated before your 1gbps is. Meaning pretty much no download will use up 100% of available bandwidth leaving plenty of room for other downloads, or simultaneous HD/UHD streaming without buffering.

A single heavy user is probably fine with 100-200mbps, but get multiple heavy users going and even those speeds can feel limiting.

Frogs BTFO again

The holding company is a paper company in the Netherlands for tax reasons.

Nearly all of Altice's operation is in France.

You probably think Fiat is a Dutch company because its holding company is in the Netherlands for tax reasons.

French education never ceases to amuse me
