Ryzenfags pls help

How do I convince my friend that for once in 6 years AMD is actually a better buy?
I showed him tons of benchmarks, both computational and graphical-wise, hell I even showed him how much of a crybaby Intel has been being about it, and he STILL thinks Ryzen sucks.

What do I say or do?

PS He's also gonna be rooming with me soon and I wanna make sure he doesn't spend all his paycheck on a shitty 7700k build when he can get an R5 for cheaper with better gains. So this also affects me as well

But 7700k is better

Show him the adored TV video where he lays out all the jew as fuck things intel did.

wait what? explain

You're wasting your time

if you've shown him those things and he doesn't change his mind then it's a lost cause, give up kiddo

Not OP, but guaranteed it won't faze him. He'll wave it off and say who cares, and then justify it by saying it let Intel make all the R&D money needed to continue making better products than AMD.

Let him buy whatever the fuck he wants? Some goys will go Intel regardless of anything.

Fuck you, lazy cunt can't even google shit. No wonder your friend doesn't pay any fucking attention to you.

Now fuck off white boy.

>AMD is actually a better buy?
You don't, why the fuck do you care about what he buys?
You tell him the facts and if facts don't affect him, you move on with your life.

This

How does him buying a 7700k affect you in any way?

Hell, I have a friend that tries to wave his dick around by saying he gets more FPS in CS:GO than me because he has a 7700k while I have a 1700x. Multithreaded performance doesn't exist in his eyes. You know what I do? I ignore him, because I don't give a flying fuck, and neither should you. How he spends his money is his business.

Maybe you should be a good friend and then him the real story

I mean, he's not wrong, as long as he understands that the only thing the 7700k is good for is gaming, then that's fine.

>multithreaded performance doesn't exist
Take a look at what cpu is on top in BF1, a game that is know to be heavily multithreaded.

Saying the 7700k sucks in multithreaded loads is just disengenous as fuck.

Unless he plans to do a lot cpu accelerated production the 7700k literally is a solid choice.

OP is just a dumbass that bought into Sup Forums memes and now thinks the 7700k is a bad buy

The reason why I care is because he's a hyperconsumer retard. And I can't afford to live in the city I'm in alone, so I need someone top split the rent with. and an R5 setup would be cheaper and even more efficient for what he wants to do (CAD and gaymen). And because he has the hyperconsumer mindset, he likes to let whatever the hell goes thru his head via hearsay/faggots on /r/pcmasterrace tell him.

And if he spends too much money on a Gayby Lake setup, he might not be able to afford his part of the downpayment on this place we want.

>The AMD fan is a poorfag who wants his friend to spend less money for his own selfish ends

geez, never saw that coming. Look, if gaming performance is your friend's top performance priority (if he's getting a 1070 or better) then the 7700k is honestly the best processor to buy. The Ryzen WILL bottleneck him by comparison.

Well, when you put it like that it makes me seem like a cunt. But he and I both come from a city that's a 2 hour drive from our Uni, and if he fucks up he won't be able to live here either.

And the most he's gonna be doing is design shit (in his case, CAD shit) and I just do artfag shit to make money.

Look I thought Blue was the way to go because Ryzen had a bit of a sketchy start, and even now it still has memory clock issues. But don't call me a fanboy because I own a 6700k second-hand. This thing SUCKS at rendering topology in Zbrush and is even slower at exporting animated shit in Marmoset. So imagine what a 7700K would be like if you would magically get a smoother experience working in AutoCad on something that's roughly $100 cheaper.

Also he already owns a 1070 with an i3 so he knows full well what a bottleneck is. And it's not like it'd be a bad one if he got an R5 1500, he only plays League, Overwatch, and Elder Scrolls online.

just suck his dick, faggot

shutup ill rape you

>recommending a quad core in 2017 that is only better than Ryzen for high refresh rate gaming
Geez, never saw that coming from a filthy Intel fuckwad who wants to rope people into buying processors that will become obsolete soon and are basically the same damn thing as the previous generation.

OK, fair enough, I can understand your reasoning. If it's like you're saying and he's going to be doing more work than gaming then it would make sense for him to Ryzen. But it's still up to what he cares about more, if he'd fine waiting for shit to render more etc. Personally if I was gonna go Ryzen I'd go Ryzen 7 1700, that's the sweet spot. Still $40US cheaper than the 7700k.

Have you explained not only the performance reasoning but also the relocation budgetary concerns with him? That seems like the main thing you're freaking out about.

"I-it'll be b-etter later, we p-promise!"
-AMD

>I just do artfag shit to make money.
Suck dick?

I have, but he thinks that some miracle would happen for us to afford the security deposit and that the 7700k would be one of those investments that is bad but ends up being good, like buying an expensive car over a more affordable one and not having to put up with engine troubles years later, if that makes sense. But we're going to school to work and git gud at what we wanna call careers, not fuck around and play vidya all day. When I put tgoether the overall costs of the i7 build in comparison to the R5 build he just nods his head and is like 'well you tell me how long Intel has been at the top'. He refuses to look at the performance/price ratio meme that AMD is known for, only this time it's not a meme it's actually pretty true.

Honestly if he could get what he wants for significantly cheaper I'd be like "whatever man" but we don't have those options, especially when our first month's rent has to be paid in full right when we move in + a security deposit.

Remember when I said he was a hyperconsumer? He bought the 1070 not even 3 weeks after launch, a reference card, and he wound up getting the same performance as he did with his old 960 with his i3. So you can imagine how he understands the importance of specs.

I make porn for depraved people online and turn their shitty Kingdom hearts OCs into actual designs for money thru Paypal, if that's what you're asking.

this. Intel = Hitler

wtf i love intel now
