What has SuperSU been deprecated in favour of?

Magisk

How much longer do you think a well taken care of Moto X Pure will last as a basic browsing device? YouTube, Sup Forums, porn, Snapchat and other normie apps etc.

Any reason not to get the Xiaomi Redmi 4X if I'm looking for a cheap phone for my parents?

What smartphone has the best typing experience? Or smartphone + keyboard combo? Is there a big difference between ios and android?

I believe some smartphones have a slower screen response time, some has worse accuracy, some maybe even too sensitive.

And what screen size would be optimal for my hands? From the base of my hand to the tip of my middle finger the length is 8,3", and from the same spot to my thumb it's almost 6".

Is there any reviewer that tackle this?

Redpill me in the Lenovo P2. Looking to get it as a replacement to my Oneplus One.

What screen protector do you recommend for a galaxy s7? I've got shit under mine and want it replaced ASAP.

At least 1-2 years, as long as the battery doesn't go to shit

Galaxy note 3 died. Any phone to recommend? My budget is around pretty low. Don't mind chinkshit

Redmi Note 4 Global

Oneplus 5
if you get one with no jelly screen.
monster specs with low price.

>when I used to get 13 hours SOT
>now I only get 10
;_;

Still get 25 hours of streaming audio through the speakers with the screen off. Bretty gud since I mostly listen to radio and podcasts these days.

they all have the jelly screen

Just go to a store and try some phones out

My Nexus 5 is starting to be quite a bother, battery and performance wise
I think it's time to move on.
Looking for suggestions.

I dont wanna spend more than 250-280, I'm partial to minimalist clean black design, good battery, camera and performance.
I use it mainly for podcasts, youtube videos, streams, and internet browsing

I have liked the p9lite for a while and now the 10lite looks even better.

Amazong is selling it for 265€ over here, I think I might go for it.
The only thing that bugs me is that it has the glossy back instead of the matte backside the p10 has, which I really like.

the price seems to be so low because one in 15 phones is actually branded, while the description says no brand, I'm willing to take the risk, and get a refund

that's not true.
what will you lose, buy it and if it's jelly then send it back before 15 days have passed.

>as long as the battery doesn't go to shit
It gets super hot when charging, but the battery life is still almost like-new, so here's hoping for the best.
This is really strange to me, having a smartphone for more than one year. I usually buy lowend or midrange. My last unit was a Moto G 3 with only 8gb internal storage. The phone worked perfectly fine, but clearing out the storage 3 times a week to stay under 8gb was extremely frustrating.
Some $50 Windows phone before that. Ditched it in 7 months because
>no software

Honor 8 is 300€, I'd say it's worth the extra. Alternatively check out the Moto G5 Plus

Nope, they all have it. The jelly effect is from the display being installed upside down, it's the same with all OP5's. Oneplus themselves confirmed it. Some people just notice it more, and some don't.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, or wait for the Note 5 which should be dropping soon

Heat is bad for lithium batteries, so if it's getting hot while charging I'd look into charging it with a slower charger (ie. 1A instead of 2A)

Yeah, it's shit.

Get Zuk Z2 instead,

My Nexus 5 has been great for nearly 4 years now and I would like my next phone should last that long as well. Does chinkshit like the Xiaomemes hold up for that long?

>Get Zuk Z2 instead

Too expensive

heh, I was already pushing it with 260 desu, just because I like the P line.
also I'm not a big fan of the glossy aesthetic and the honor goes all in with that
and I would expect a bigger battery justify thehigher price, it does have a better camera but I'm not a camera guy frankly, I barely take pictures

unfortunately those would be too big for my taste/hands.
5in is perfect for me, but I can deal with 5.2

Some kind of Moto G5

then explain why this dude didn't get his jelly !
youtube.com/watch?v=kJ8071Dptng

Xiaomi is the most unfriendly phone for your parents. it's the opposite of just werks. so many bugs and shitty roms.
Get a P10 lite or Honor 8 or Moto G5.

Watch 0:25-0:27, the jelly effect is there.

I would like to avoid the OP5. OnePlus is a shitty company that I would not like to support anymore.
Besides the P2 is around 300 eurobucks right now (if I'm lucky I'll find one for 250) and the OP5 is 500. Not really a fair comparison imo, famalam.

Is the Axon 7 still worth getting?

i can live with that.

Looking at getting an Xperia XZs to replace my aging GS5 but there seem to be some threads on XDA and Sony forums complaining about lens distortion effect making straight lines into waves Some of the comments were saying that most smartphones have this problem, plus Sony responded saying that the distortion is within industry standard for wide angle lenses, so I checked with my current phone camera and it looks like this too.

Is there actually anything especially bad about what the Sony cameras are doing or is this really just a thing that all smartphone camera lenses do because of physical limitations?

I dropped my redmi note 3, and the screen smashed.

I want to replace the glass, but a) I'm too lazy to do it myself, and b) All of the replacements that I've seen on aliexpress and other such sites have reviews that range from that the replacement is good, to reviews which state that replacements are shite, with bad color, and shit materials.

Would a local shop be able to replace it for me? It's the glass that's broken, but not the lcd underneath; all inputs are fine, but the glass is absolutely cracked to high hell - stuff is still just about readable, but it's not entirely excellent.

broke my Nexus 5 motherboard while trying to install a screen replacement.

another board is like $80, is there any point to upgrading to a better phone if my budget is like ideally under $100 or max $150? the Nexus 5 is a few years old by now but has worked well for me, but I see a lot of cheap new phones available.

Looking for a new ROM for my galaxy note 4 now that cyanogenmod is a deprecated piece of shit.
Any recommendations?

I have pic related. After a learning curve it feels awesome. Took me 10 days but I fucking love it now.

also the piece that broke I guess is called "fuel gauge" chip. I can power the phone on only by plugging the USB in with the battery unplugged, and then connecting the battery, and then powering the phone on.

so this allows temporary use of the phone, do you think it's damaging to do this? Would the fuel gauge chip usually control anything related to the charging of battery, or is it just measuring voltage in order to tell how much charge there is?

This. You either get MIUI which is trash or pajeet roms

what's the verdict on LG G6 ?

Is heat bad for Li-Po? Which temperature is still good?
I'm deciding whether I should use the 0.35A charger my phone came with or my old 1.5A charger.

Any recommendations up to ~$130 USD?

Go to LineageOS site, if a device is not supported, it's a shit.

Moto E4

It's not 0.35A you retard, that's the input.

>have had axon 7 for almost a year now
>has gorilla glass 4
>take it out hiking, sleep with it every night for ASMR, drop it sometimes, take it to the beach, take it pretty much everywhere
>screen is still literally flawless with no scratches whatsoever

>go to swappa
>check out used phones
>they're all scratched to shit

I literally don't understand how people can scratch their phones unless they actually try to

Convince me to not buy this

>fragility
>awkwardness
>unintentional touches
>unwieldliness
>Xiaomeme 'support'

What a smartphone with
>under 300
>decent minimalist design, black. possibly not glossy
>with 4GB of memory
>at least 32GB, possibly with a MicroSD slot
>Android, not too retarded of a skin
>good battery, >3000mah
>good performance, nothing incredible, just good enough that I can use apps quickly, browse, watch videos/streams

Dude, you're literally me.

Lenovo P2
Moto G5 plus

Mi Mix 2 is coming out soon

Redmi Note 4 Global 4gb/64gb

fuck I forgot
>5.2in max

Nokia 6 Arte Black

P2 is 314€ here
dont like motorola's design
hi me

Honor 8

shiet, 310€ here. besides camera it's pretty much the same as p10lite, which costs 260 on amazon
too glossy, not getting a nokia in 2017

>caring about design
Are you a faggot??

none

it's a hardware defect, they all have it. whether this matters to you or not is a different question

Anyone considering the Note Fan edition? I predict that the price is going to tank once the Note 6 is out and I'm going to cop.

time to upgrade to Moto Z Play

Are they even going to sell it outside Korea?

Are you retarded confused, my good man?

> not getting a nokia in 2017
Why?

looking for new phone

>something good for flashing a new ROM and ricing
>no chinkshit
>good battery (ideally 3000+mah)
>price isn't a huge concern, but I'd prefer something a year or two old

It will be available on eBay and work on UK networks.

will there be a phone worth buying in the next 2-3 years, im probably due for a new one by then

ive used android, ios, and ubuntu touch and am not interested in a samsung phone

advice appreciated

>will there be a phone worth buying in the next 2-3 years
that's one of the most retarded questions I've ever read
not even, a statement, since you didnt add a question mark

>no chinkshit
KYS

what would you recommend if I wanted chinkshit?

consider

anyone here have an iPhone 6 or similarly thin phones? any bending so far?

Should I get a redmi note 4 or G5 Plus?

I find it incredulous that anyone would purchase a smart phone that doesn't have a frequently updated, 100% open source ROM available.
Flabbergasting.
Is the world full of masochists?

Redmi ofc

Redmi Note 4 Global

Looking to upgrade from my HTC One M9, it looks like its been through hell. I'm looking for durable phone or a company with cheap reliable phone replacement. I'm looking to spend around $600. I like the idea of an sd card slot but if there is more than 100 gb, an sd card slot is not even needed.

Mainly looking for a durable, reliable most likely Android phone thats fast, has a long battery life and at least 64GB of storage. Ill be using the phone on sprint.

Had an iPhone and was a joy once jailbroken. Upgraded to a note 3 and loved it until rooting it and tripping knox. The M9 hasn't been too bad except the way smaller screen, rooting it was a hassle, and its just been slow and ify lately. Wont send texts at times, cant call out. Charger port is fucked. I'm pretty rough on my stuff.

Is there a recovery rom that isn't absolute dogcrap?

Gonna buy a new phone in 2 weeks. This time I would like to invest into a nice camera...
Should I go for the s8 or lg g6? what about the s7 edge (is it still a good phone?) ? I just want a good camera, SD card slot and a 3.5mm slot. Thanks!

Get the LG G6

Am I missing something here? This seems too good to be true. Getting the same phone through AT&T would be $830.

>zte

Fragile and memeish in general. Also, better specs from competition.
But they lack the overall wow effect, even s8 is not as eye-catcher as mix.

/thread

Best

nope nothing really to miss. The LG V20 sells brand new from all major carriers for like $370-$420 brand new.

I have the V20 on T-mobile. Great phone.

>frequently updated
Why?
>100% open source ROM
Am I retarded or shit doesn't actually exist? That's the worst thing about custom ROMs, a shitty camera because the soft isn't open source.
Did some meme vendor like OnePlus release the whole code?

with LG's bootloop I wouldn't touch LG for a good while.

Next you will tell me you buy contracts.
Will you niggers ever learn?

Only G4, V10 and Nexus 5X bootloop

>Am I retarded or shit doesn't actually exist? That's the worst thing about custom ROMs, a shitty camera because the soft isn't open source.
Doesn't exist unfortunately but you should get as close as possible

>frequently updated
Security

If it's so good you don't find anything to patch then why update frequently? Not saying soft like that exists, but the actual frequency isn't actually all that important.
/autism

Vernee released the entire source code for its Apollo Lite. Even for bootloader.

>still no nokia 7
>pixel still as expensive as ever in europoor

fuck this

Who else is rocking a 4 year old phone? Note 3 master race.

Moto G1 but it's getting annoying because it doesn't have a microSD slot and only 16 GB storage

That was some really fucked up shit back in the first Moto G days.

bq aquaris x for europoors
