>500€ 5 year old refurbished PC >Only DDR3 1333mhz >Old ass 3,2ghz base clock CPU
... .. .
>But jokes on you >Quad channel memory >so 32gb ecc memory performs nearly like 2666mhz >Xeon e5-1650 has single thread comparable to r7 1800x >Amazing Enterprise-class case
Introducing HP z420 refurbished Workstation This is the xiaomi Redmi note 3 pro of computers
This is no surprise most anons here run moded LGA 771 with Xeons and shit ton of ram.
Brayden Foster
Am I 12? I dont even have that game. I used an r9 290x from my old nahelem build and powering a ultrawide 1440p monitor with that. Witcher 3 sure is comfy
Camden Carter
>so 32gb ecc memory performs nearly like 2666mhz That's not how it works
1333mhz Quad-Channel memory performs nearly as well as you 8700k dual channel memory
And why would I need that again? It's a 5 year old machine. Its a well tested Enterprise workstation. It surely proved it's worth by still working flawlessly after 5 years. I mean even the Power supply is made to last
Oliver Lopez
Quad-channel has higher bandwidth, but it doesn't perform significantly better than Dual-channel. Unless you actually have software that manages to use all that extra bandwidth. Which you probably don't, so your slow Quad-channel is not performing better than equally slow Dual-channel.
Robert Roberts
>500 yuro-bucks >"Muh games will make use of that qc memory fo sho" >Sandybridge, 130w housefire cpu wth no OC and 3.8 boost >max 1600 ddr3 >"performs like 2666mhz"????
Is this advanced bait we have here? Fuck off retard.
Alexander Hughes
>Xeon e5-1650 has single thread comparable to r7 1800x Nope.
>It's a 5 year old machine. Its a well tested Enterprise workstation. It surely proved it's worth by still working flawlessly after 5 years. I mean even the Power supply is made to last
Caps don't last forever, they die eventually. And now you cant replace your PSU or mobo with standard stuff. And the PSU isnt made to last outside for it's useful lifespan, which has ended.
Julian Parker
But those are slow af
It improves minimum fps in games.. But I am doing a lot of other stuff besides gaming where ram bandwith keeps a big role. Also because it's DDR3 the latencies are a lot lower than whats typical today
David Rivera
You can buy those power supplies for cheap Enterprise class workstations last a lot longer than you think
Jack Morgan
>Also because it's DDR3 the latencies are a lot lower than whats typical today Nope, faggit, latencies are almost the same for DDR2 800, DDR3 1600, DDR4 3200 etc.
Sebastian Gray
user, I know you are here for some validation for your purchase and to get rid of this buyers remorse, but you fucked up. You've been conned. You bought an out of warranty shitbox.
You could have easily bought a 1600 build BRAND NEW for around 500 euros that would demolish this for gaymin and be better at workstation shit too.
Next time, before you drop the hammer, consider visiting .
Jokes on you. I bought this workstation half a year ago and can't be more happy about my purchase. I just want to recommend this further. You can follow my advice or pay much more money for something a little better. I prefer the highest bang for bucks ratio.
And you cant find something with better bang for bucks than a z420 with 32gb ecc quad channel memory, xeon e5 1650 6 core with single threaded performance near r7 1800X / i7 6700 and all that with Enterprise class quality for 500€
Dominic Nguyen
It's a meme, you dip.
Levi Edwards
...
Nathaniel Martin
>Look mommy, I did it again >I recommend ram which is more than half the price of the whole build
Landon Nelson
No one recommended anything besides op who claimed that his choice was performing better.
That used RAM is cheaper than new one shouldn't even be worth mentioning, that much is obvious.
Julian Reed
I'm not spoonfeeding you build advice, like I said, fuck off to if you want a better build.
Seriously user, it's a shit build and you got conned, nobody is going to take your "recommendation" seriously.
Parker Martinez
>Using brand-new DDR4 Pricing >When user's Xeon uses DDR3 Srsly, do you fucking research before shitposting.
Mason Stewart
>a xeon e5 1650 and 32 gb ram >shit build
damn son, thats good performance for the buck, anything thats not i7 and rizen is "ancient" for these kids, and btw Sup Forumspcbg is full of shills, i guess its true what they say Sup Forums stands for good goy
Blake Howard
>cpu wth no OC On an enterprise mbo yeah, but the E5-1x series actually has unlocked mulltipliers on OCable boards.
Brody Walker
>>Xeon e5-1650 has single thread comparable to r7 1800x
...why the fuck would someone get a xeon to get a comparable single-thread performance to something?

What GPU are you gonna throw into that? Something like a 1050ti would be nice.
Hudson Perez
i feel sorry for you at least a bit
Luke Price
See I am reusing my r9 290x
I came from nahelem. Intel did not deliver the last 9 years. And I have to wait an additional 3 years minimum till there will be finally a new Architecture and process node. I don't want to buy 4 year old 14nm or 3 year old Skylake Architecture for the next 2-3 years. Fuck that
If I would not have any GPU and would have to buy one now either 1050 ti or 1060 3gb
