yes, just because of "muh higher causes" AKA "pleasing the crowds", empires could justify themselves historically with "at least we provided the crowds with entertainment"

whereas someone like the "filthy vulgar savages" weren't doing the same thing for a "higher cause" (like providing entertainment for the plebs), but rather to sate their own thirsts, therefore they're subhuman for doing it
