Is AMD done?

> GTX 1080
> $400
nice meme lol

>$400 GTX1080
Where?

Also it'll probably scale better at 4k due to better memory...

Yup, the only thing that can keep them in the market is if they have a >1070 card for cheaper.

Knowing AMD, this isn't going to happen.

>Is AMD done?
>company that offers the best x86 datacenter processor
>done
?
You need to go back to Sup Forums.

When was the last time AMD had the genuinely best video card on the market? Was it the 7970?

>Was it the 7970?
Yes.
Too bad it sold like shit.

nice meme
you thought this will be a successful thread, think again

The 290 and fury were decent too.

just hurry the fuck up so I can cop a used 1070 already

They too sold like shit. No matter what AMD does Radeon simply sells like shit.

Could explain why Vega has like 20+ different fw/bios/die configurations for enterprise/pro and only 5 for gaming, RTG doesn't see gaming as a big market if they only catch up to Nvidia.

>20+ different fw/bios/die configurations for enterprise/pro
No, there's like 5 actual SKUs, it's just different editions for OEMs/retail/whatever/whatever.
Also Vega20 is an enigma, yes.
>if they only catch up to Nvidia.
We don't really know that yet.
FE performs ever or better than P6000 where it works, i.e. workstation tasks.
We'll see in a few hours, IF someone is going to do a text livestream.

picked up a 290x a few years ago used, still manages 4k 60fps decently in most games and still receives optimisation given that the 390x was an updated rebrand

How much is a 1080ti faster than a 290X? Some 110-120%?

Considering how old the 290X is that's really not anything special.

>slower than a 1080
>1080 costs 400$
>1080 was released 1.5 years ago

fuck off shill

slickdeals.net/f/10197232-asus-turbo-geforce-gtx1080-frys-with-promo-code-after-rebate-439-99?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

I see it between $400-445 at least once a week.

1080ti isn't even 50% faster than a highly overclocked 980ti, that thing was a fucking monster.

Because it's only ~700 moar ALUs.
Nvidia is milking goyim good with Pascal.

AMD is an anagram of MAD because you'd have to be to buy this shit XD hahaha XD hahahahahaha xD

It can clock a lot higher though.

unless you only play league of legends or some 10 year old game there is absolutely no way you are gaming at 4k 60fps with the turd that is 290x

>The 'After Rebate' meme

Is Nvidia finished?

It's two node jump.
No fucking shit it can clock higher.

Who gives a shit if it'll be able to outperform the 1080 Ti or not? Nvidia will always dominate the highest tiers, just focus on bringing out something that can be competitive with the 1070 and 1080.

Who gives a shit?
I've never had a problem with rebates. Just do it right and you'll get your money.

>Nvidia will always dominate the highest tiers
Nah.
>just focus on bringing out something that can be competitive with the 1070 and 1080
It'll sell like shit anyway.

lmao xDDD

so why did you pick one that was from two months ago?

Maybe in the USA once every few weeks, but where I live (Austria), the cheapest non-Tis start at 547,98€.

290x falls in between a 970 and 980 in performance wise.

How much of a deal people got a 290x depends when they bought it and for how much.

The 290x was great for the money when it came out, but then the 980 came out and it suddenly and the its luster was taken awy
Times change, the GPU landscape changes too.

>and it suddenly and the its luster was taken awy
Are you having a stroke?

It only sells like shit because of 14 year olds who only buys The Way It's Meant To Be Played™ Certified Hardcore Gaming Products, they wouldn't buy AMD even if Vega performed at the same level of a 1080 TI at $400 and 200W power draw.

too little too late

It still sells like shit and R&D is not fucking free.
That's why they'll spend like half the SIGGRAPH keynote shilling SSG.
At least it's TOTALLY going to sell, it's a niche in itself.

at least this time it isn't a rebrandeon

7970 was good, yeah. Definitely a way better choice than a GTX 680, I rand 7970 CF back in the day and was quite happy with the cards.

(You) tried, Rajeesh.

Ian says you're in for a surprise. Poor Volta indeed.

Will Cutress do a text stream?
Or its Shrout only?

I personally think while average fps will be somewhere over a 1080, frametimes/minfps will be really impressive.

A rebate means you have no warranty, dipshit.

Heeey, will SOMEONE have a text livestream of AMD keynote?

oh wow, what do ya know a broken link.

POO

Hoo boy.

Bald egghead guy confirms AMD is back?!

A very special bald egghead guy.

AYYMD IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT

AYYMDPOORFAGS CONFIRMED ON SUICIDE WATCH

waiting the bench to refund my 500 buck gtx 1080
what vega card shoud i buy instead?

>not cheaper than Nvidia thanks to HBM2

>way more inefficient in terms of power consumption and thus heat dissipation

I sold my RX480 for good money, I am going to get an efficient, easy too cool and easy to overclock GPU.

And as it is, it is only Nvidia that can deliver.

Vega RX 64

That's bad for 4k ALU blower card?
Sapphire Vega56 when it launches.
Sapphire always delivers on flagships.

>buying used GPUs

>sapphire always delivers
Fixed.

You've already forgetti the mess that was 400 series cards?

DELET

Yes, fucking chink, fear the cock that is XFX.

Vega 64 turbo is 1677 MHz
We will see AIB breaching the 1700 MHz. Over 13TFLOPS

AMD screwed again.
Its a no brainer just go for intel+nvidia

They did what?

>13 teraflops
Perform like a flop

>intel
Fuck off Brian

So, sticking with the Housefire meme, would liquid cooling be essentially broiling the card?

>Its
>Perform like

Kill yourself.

We don't even know the final TDP numbers. Retards are still just assuming it's the same as FE Vega

It's literally the same fucking chip you mongrel

Source?

Literally google it.
Vega10 is Vega10.
4k ALUs are going to be hot and hungry no matter what.

t. imageboard engineer

He could mean AMD is back in the pro market, not gaming.

>the products
146% the entire stack is great.
3 hours left anyway.
Prepare the wojak edits.

Who the fuck is this nobody and why should anyone care?

*checks channel*
*under 100 views*

Lol

Why the hell is the tubing coming out the rear of the card and not the front? That's fucking retarded.

...

Who?

>forum post

You sure showed me!!

Jacketman please.

WHO?

Anyone notice how Nvidiots have gotten rabid over the last 24 hours?

Or is it just the Intelfags trying to hide behind Nvidiots?

No, it's His Majesty Leather Jacket Man personal damage control brigade.

I had a 290 and returned it. It's idea of heat control was to cut the voltage if it got to hot, but it heated up way too fast and cut the voltage so quickly that my computer crashed. After I got the money back I spent it on an nvidia 780 and have had that for years

Both. inteljews are forcing the housefire 400W meme.

>right before 12core part launches and melts through the socket
Lol.

...

Shhhhh. Quiet goy.

>literally THE overclocking dude kills the 7800x
The fuck.

He emerges from his hole once every 4 years and tells us if amd is back or not. His predictions are not accurate, nor does his opinion hold sway, but we still give him attention because nobody is quite certain how he survives in a hole in the ground, what he eats, where he came from, or how he even knows about amd considering he only comes out of his hole once every 4 years

Intel and partners in charge of QC

Same here it was one of the worst gpus I ever had.

Got a 770 to replace it ran cool as ice until I got a 390x last year.

Shame ayymd can't get their shit together.

As I was saying in the last thread we need multicore gpus

A lot of system builders and pre-builds are exclusively Nvidia. It's kind of like the Intel situation, Nvidia giving kickbacks.

post yfw "wait for Navi"

RX 56 release when?

Early September i guess.

>multicore gpus
user, I...

He's that local retarded shitposter that calls MCM GPU a "multicore" one.
