210 watt TDP for 10.5TFLOP and $400 sounds amazing if true. But not sure 4GB is enough unless the HBCC works in all games without needing specific driver support. Being "TBC" makes it sound like it won't be the same 8GB.

TDP and clocks for the liquid ones are interesting.

Just look at Vega 10 XL. It was to have a performance equal to or higher than 1080 Ti, seriously!

>$200 off of a freesync monitor
They really shooting for that value proposition.

tell me about vega packs. What monitors/board/R7 does he have?

>295W
>345W

AYYMD HOUSEFIRES

But with the drivers will be better! Wait, just wait!

Thank you raja...

To be real though, we've seen a lot of improvements in performance through drivers alone out of AMD.

If the Vega 56 performs similarly to the 1070 then I'll be all over it

>Buying a HOUSEFIRE turd that consumes 210W for same performance as 150W GTX 1070

Alright, show me a 1070 at $400 and I'll buy that instead

It should be some 15% slower than a 64CU, that would put it above the 1070.
There's a rather large gap between the 1070 and 1080 for whatever reason

ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-1070-SC-GAMING-ACX-3-0-Black-Edition-08G-P4-5173-KR-8GB-GDDR5-/382172247007?hash=item58fb3db3df

$44 w/ PCOLLEGE10)

if the "pack" cards are bundled (not possible to sell them at the normal price) then it may be an incentive against miners, since a normal user may use the games or the discount for a new monitor; the miners need to sell them or pay the higher price.

>10.5TFPLOS
>1070 performance

GTX1080 for $460 with PCOLLEGE10.

Without actual benchmarks, you can't say how those cards do perform.
Do they fuck up with the texture cache? have a really shitty scheduler that shits itself up on a conditional branch? the driver is any good?
Even the shittiest architecture looks great when doing what is essentially an infinite multiply loop.

Yep, i knew the details were going to be too good to be true as they began leaking for the 56. Quite surely, they're going to make it 4GB w/ gimped memory bus bit width to push you into Vega 10 XT at a minimum. Showing that no one is above $$$/cents in business.

We'll see shortly once the showcase @ SIggraph begins.
Really scratching my head here about the time they're kicking this off. 5pm PST would have made a lot more sense.

Why people are forcing Nvidia rebates on Sup Forums? Are they that desperate to sell it to get a vega?

$100-200 cheaper.

Just to make shills like you mad.

Heh, minimum framerate is the silver lining.

So without actual benchmarks you're assuming that it has the same performance as a 1070, consumes a litle bit more power and costs less than half the price is really a bad deal?

They marked up the pack by $100. So, i'm not understanding the value proposition here unless you're a gamer and don't already own a ryzen setup. That early adopter tax hitting again.

What about for 1080?

I feel like this gets overlooked far too easily. The stutters are the most jarring. A consistent framerate is more important than a high one, but why not both?

Well done chinks

Who cares.

It's more of a general "stop using flops as a performance measure".
It can be slower than the flops paint, it can be faster than the flops paint.

I do

They could only afford so much (((magic))) and spent it all on the 1080

They'll probably have 8GB models, although maybe not reference cards

Yes

There's a 1080 in that chart

Hmm, now this is actually interesting and an actual reason to not consider Nvidia at all if it's true.

If it's true, small variance between average and minimum is what I've been chasing for the last few years, I don't trust AMD on this yet.

Honestly though, I'd rather take 80fps min and 120fps avg instead of 50fps min and 150+ avg

Just a hypothetical comparison against a 1080ti, they're not in the same price range anyway.

From what I'm seeing the 1080 has no reason to exist now unless you need that lower TDP

Minimum 40fps on 4k is still dogshit.

Fuck why is Sup Forums always right

Lets see any Nvidia card do that.

1080 ti oc

1080ti
EZPZ

Make crossfire and you get 60fps easy.
What really matters there is no tearing/stutering.

I want a Vega 56 with 4gb memory, Nano size, and $350 price, with no included rebates. I don't even care if they cheap out on the cooler, I have a spare Scythe one I can bolt on it.

so when they talk about Vega and 4k gaming are they talking 4k ultra settings or what?

#RAJAOUT

Say it with me: 1070 performance (for the XL)

I'm just glad I can spend more than a GTX 1080 to buy a Vega that's water cooled enough for it's 180% GTX 1080 power consumption not to combust.

Bet the XL has 1070+ performance though.

spoiler it doesn't it's worse than a 1070 and costs $50 more

Kill yourself.

it isn't over yet, see stream (NOT official stream)

If RDIMMs worked it would be 1tb max. If EYPC and threadripper are the same die then what is stopping registered memory from working?

According to some tidbits from various websites, threadripper can support 1tb of RAM but only using LRDIMMs. 1TB of LRDIMMs in 8 128gb sticks will be close to $16k

WTF how?

SSD bolted onto the GPU and used as a cache for things like scrubbing or rendering

basically 16~32GB of memory (HBCC), and a 2TB NVME ssd on the gpu

this circumvents cpu bottlenecks

HBCC

M.2 SSDs on the back act as cache, faster than pulling from system drives atleast
