I've heard they get too hot. See the /csg/.

Botnet (if anyone is wondering)

And Macbooks don't? :')

>Caring about Chinese botnet that can do literally nothing to you over American NSA botnet

Chinese or American we all fucked nah?

They're good. I own a 2016 one.

Downsides:
>might scratch easily
>will get hot as fuck if you game
>battery life ~8 hours casual web browsing word editing
>non touch display
>USB-C but not Thunderbolt

Upsides:
>you can actually play games
>silky smooth glide touchpad
>UEFI is in English (lol)
>Vibrant display
>good keyboard
>lack of logo on the back will make you the hottest motherfucker around getting all the engineering girls wet and everyone asks you what your awesome laptop is

just get a fucking macbook loser

>posting on Sup Forums
>calling others losers
>lel

Glad to hear someone has it.
Will definitely take all these points into account.

lel xd le memey greentext makes me right!

...

I hope they put an APU in one, in the next refresh.

I would never know, I dont own one.

Daily reminder

What's up with the U core i5s and i7s? My current laptop has an i7 4700HQ and it gets the job done fairly well. Im checking the notebook air and the Thinkpad carbon x1 and they offer the same processors

An unrelated product being shit doesn't mean the one you're planning isn't.

U means it has 2 cores 4 threads, but low power use

They are good but have to deal with resellers and parts could be a problem if something gets damaged

They seem too good to be true... I recommend 2nd hand 2011 MBA 256gb - cheap - parts - proven

I thoroughly enjoy mine with ubuntu gnome

Make sure to get only the one with MX150 GPU

I own the 2016 version.

Fantastic laptop, feels good with no complaints. Beautiful screen and actually loud speakers that puts to shame other cheapo laptop speakers. No logo means you can slap stickers on it to make it look like your own. Long battery life and light and generally a well built machine with no complaints from me and I moved from a macbook air.

Does get hot when you game but then again what laptop wont?

How much these lil niggas cost?

I've got one (the 12.5" integrated graphics one), and I used to have one of the 2015 space-grey Macbooks.

Is it worth it? Maybe.

It runs Linux pretty well, and it's not too underpowered (though it has a pretty shitty CPU and very little RAM). The display is legitimately quite brilliant (it even matches the display of the Macbook in my opinion). The keyboard is pretty comparable with the Macbook -- though the keys are less stiff in my opinion (but the travel distance is longer). I didn't like the Macbook keyboard so that's an improvement too. The battery life is okay (~7 hours) too. The disk is actually an m2 SSD (though I think it's SATA). Also HDMI does actually work (I had issues with audio-over-HDMI but that's never worked for me on Linux).

Now the downsides. First of all, the BIOS is absolute garbage -- booting off a USB is several times harder than it needs to be (and AFAICS they actually violate Microsoft's UEFI requirements -- you can't even see the keyrings let alone change them). Also, the aluminium bullshit gets dirty super fucking easily. It scratches like a motherfucker too. The trackpad is okay, but I prefer having physical buttons (pushing down on the trackpad makes me nervous -- it doesn't press evenly). Camera and mic are pretty awful (as expected).

All in all, it's actually a pretty good machine (*much* better than I expected), but you are paying ~AU$600 for the damn thing. You can just buy a refurbished X220 for half that price and that's the machine I switched back to after using my Xiaomi Air for a year or so.

>>lack of logo on the back will make you the hottest motherfucker around getting all the engineering girls wet and everyone asks you what your awesome laptop is

Can confirm, the plain case design is sexy as all fuck.

Oh, and the hinge design is nicer IMO. I was always getting lint and other shit inside the hinge of my Macbook. It is plastic, but you don't notice.

>Mi Notebook

Arrr, me notebook!

Could've gotten one but wasn't gonna risk having to buy a new laptop 2 years into CS.

>just get a gimped overpriced product with bad build quality you loser

Yeah no shit, but how do they perform?

What is that laptop?

...

It's nice but it has like no warranty.

chink windows10 has no botnet (from microsoft, at least).

What is the Xiaomi notebook's competition?

Also do they sell them with no ram no ssd?
