Are you gay user?

I made a boot race video too

>Are you gay user?
Apparently, you are.

user can't flash a rom

If I had to guess I'd assume it's because I'm not on the spectrum

>x60
>gay
K, kid.

You will never enjoy faster boot speeds and no botnet with that attitude.
This is what happens if you don't libreboot your x60

Okay, good thing I know what an SSD is then

Doesn't it require extensive hardware to do it?
It seems like a comfy thing but I couldn't really be bothered since it's way too low level for me to appreciate.

Because I librebooted my X220.

X60s can be software flashed. I believe the Macbook 2 1s can as well. It took like 10 minutes on trisquell.

Program didn't work on debian stretch though.

I have a bunch of x61s so I just swapped in a motherboard.

Now I'm kinda jealous desu.

I want wwan though.

I have a librebooted macbook2,1. pretty nice tbqh

That screen resolution must be pretty comfy. 1440 by 900 x60 screens are hard to come buy.

It is. I just need to get some stickers to cover up the Apple logo.

Gnu ram head stickers r 5 bucks desu.

Any experience with unixstickers.com?

No man, was considering buying a x220 wrap though. 30 bucks is kinda high for a wrap though.

>weeburboot

because we don't need GNU bios., it's retarded.

:c
Intel ME. Also have you used GNU bios. It's pretty speedy, wish it would have better hardware support though.

Libreboot is not a GNU project.
Anyways, we DO need a free BIOS because modern UEFI implementations are full of vulnerabilities and (potentially) intentional backdoors.

whatever, both my laptop and my desktop are Ayymd-based, so I can't really use it anyway.

Again wished they had better hardware support. Libreboot is pretty much just for core 2, and opterons man.

Sorry man. Coreboot has better support, but it isn't FREE AS IN FREEDOM
coreboot.org/Supported_Motherboards

Coreboot is indeed free as in freedom (in fact, Libreboot is just a fork of Coreboot).
However, Coreboot does allow you to use non-free blobs (generally things like video bios roms) which is why it has much better hardware support. If you can't run Libreboot, Coreboot is the next best thing and is still far better than a proprietary UEFI.

The limited hardware support in libreboot, is kinda interesting.

Do you think coreboot would have the same issue of unsupported devices. I would coreboot my x220, but I am planning to add a gobi2000.

8400gs is supported :/

Generally things like support for PCI devices and GPUs is determined by the OS. As long as coreboot doesn't have any bugs for the x220 regarding PCI, it should work just fine.

Might give it a shot later. Need to buy a pi or something first so I can flash it.

I flashed coreboot to my T430 with a buspirate + some cheap SOIC-8 clip from amazon. 8/8 would recommend.

I had a e430 in highschool, the laptop slowly died. I imagine the t430 has alot better build quality. Is it still 1366x768?

Not the person you replied to but I can't even replace the bios chip on my laptop

Impossible, idiot. You're a dev or lying.

My model has a rather lackluster 1600x900 TN panel. The resolution is ok but the colors and viewing angles are horrible.
The build quality on the other hand, is spectacular.

Better start sucking cocks desu. You could probably get a x60 pretty easily.

Not even hardware flashing with one of those SOIC clips.
My ex had the t420 with the 1600x900 TN panel. IPS is nice, but I'd probably prefer a 1600x900 TN lol

I have a x220. 1366x768. Unless you want to buy expensive Chinese mods.

because I have to use a modern laptop for my jobs and that libreboot only exist for 10 yo shit.

Implying laptops have changed much in the last 10 years.

Also coreboot supports more modern hardware.

I was actually looking into some of those mods to upgrade to a 1080p IPS, but the eDP->LVDS adapter is very hard to find outside of china.

i wanna fuck that bussy

I just got used to 1366x768, I think the t430 has an IPS mod that only needs a cable extension

thinkwiki.org/wiki/Replacing_T430_screen_with_a_better_one

Idk the word bussy just sounds wrong like

BBentium 4 Bipeline :DDDDDDDDD

nice dubs

I use tones of bloat ware for my job (and windows ofc) so I have 16 Go RAM 90% full
You rigth but not mine :'(
Will see if I can dev the coreboot for my personal gayming desktop.

I use windows on my desktop, because of video editing software. University has huge software discounts. Your not using 10 at least right :'c

Can you watch anime on libreboot?

get a haircut fagg

Windows 10 is more comfy for me than 7 or wath ever, just a pref.

because i librebooted my X200

It's a bios desu
No
tfw I will eventually have to work on windows 10 systems because normies and infosystems career.

What is do you run on your x200 do you use i3wm

Does libreboot also come with UEFI or does it only implement the old BIOS api?

I don't know. Grub is on the flash chip.

holy fug, literally 17 seconds

>proprietary UEFI
Only the PI part and some DXE drivers are proprietary (drivers don't matter, we could just port over the linux drivers to DXE). The bulk of the firmware, the DXE core, is completely open source. Hell, UEFI is more open than BIOS ever was. The problem isn't UEFI, the problem is chip and mainboard manufacturers not opening up their hardware specification so we can't write our own platform init code.

Are there any recent desktop mainboards with coreboot support?

>complain about UEFI being bloat
>turn grub into fucking firmware

In an UEFI environment GRUB is the bloat. All I need to boot any os of my choosing is to load the EFI shell and type in a command. And the shell is on the firmware rom itself. Why would I want grub?

Can't watch anime? Then fuck off

I use an almost default Trisquel install. i see no reason to change a DE or WM, the applications i use don't require it.

Overclocked core 2 quad might be somewhat modern.

I've been looking for a x60 at a good price for a while but found nothing. I've got a t400 for like 35$ tho. Can anyone fill me in on how you change traditional bios settings (time/date/boot order etc) with libreboot? Also can i shove in a qx9300 with it?

There is no sandy bridge era laptop with libre, right?

>supporting trannyboot

No, thanks. I stick with superior coreboot.

Aw I was just wondering it seems librebooted x200s go hand in hand with i3 ricing.
No libre boot, but core boot yes
I think you have to do a reflash to change most settings. Not sure though.
Qx9300 probably.

I did a little bit of googling and I only found about a t500 and he did a lot of modding on the chip itself and also on the mobo (and it also was in german). I think my best bet would be the t9900 or the x9100 I was also curios if you could do some light oc'ing on libreboot.

Is that an X60 mobo?

You fucking retard, why would literally every large enterprise/bank trust these fucking hardware companies with their most closely guarded trade secrets, talking like Coke recipes, video game/DRM source code, customer databases, if there was even the slightest chance of a fucking backdoor?

You have no counterargument you dumb turd

I thought libreboot rejoined GNU?

this person selling librebooted t400 on aus ebay for 320 when i cn pick a normal one up for about 200. It cant be that hard to put it on there

I want to get an X60 for framebuffer comfy. What's the fan like?

Because I'm posting from a Libreboot T400 right now.

because there's no trannyboot for x220

it's not, you just need a test clip, rpi to act as a flasher and a couple hours of your sweet, precious time to get it done

I am not poor

sicc burnn

I actually am. Although I am trying to change it. No luck so far tho.

How do I libreboot my X220?

>current year
>user still in closet

Time flies when you're a faggot

Is librebooting a t400 hard? What board can you use to flash it?

you can use beagle board or rpi by just setting some kernel config and building an spi module, then you just buy one of the test clips for about $30 and you'll need a seperate power supply as well to power the spi chip.
Theres a chance you might brick a few of the chips before you get it done but you can just swap the mobo out or resolder on a new flash chip

You don't even have to build an spi module on later kernels. I flashed my T400 with just a default Raspbian install. Not to mention the rPi supplies 3.5V just fine to the chip so a separate power supply isn't necessary.

You look exactly like an ex of mine from high school except a little more "guyish"

>trannyboot
No thanks
chinks > tranny with mental issues

Sorry I don't live in the past

h-hey qt, you single?

the x200t is hard to libreboot so I wait until I get any kind of response fron somebody who has already done it (the bios chip is locked so you have to flash another chip first before then going over to the bios chip, chipset is different from the standard x200 (gm45 vs gs45) so its quite different)

i-i have actually it's running void too and yes i am gay

I use a corebooted t60

So lemme get this straight.... If I flash weeburboot, I'd need to install a new wireless card?

If you want wifi yes most likely

Yeah it swaps right into the x61.
Idk if you can do overclocking, I was curious about this too. You can do software overclocking though.

Overclock laptop chip sounds sketchy.

Because I'm using a PowerBook G4 with Open Firmware.

R u ittfami?

Also have PowerBook, ide to msata adapter hasn't arrived yet.

>Implying

what thinkpad is that? you should paint the keyboard as well.

It was some really beat up x61 I got. I originally planned to see if the plastidip would make it look a bit nicer. Turned out terrible, so I added stickers.

I ended up buying a lot of 5 x61(s) off eBay later so selavie.

>He hasn't Librebooted a X200

Lol noob

I don't have a x200 senpai

Then get one, they're cheap.

That's not even an X200 on the photo. But I wish I had one. I think I'm gonna get one and libreboot it. I fucking need that.

It is, I just used the display bezel of my X201. Pic related.

I actually bought a new bezel and swapped that sticker over again, so it looks new all on the inside, but still says X201…

what DE are you using? nice rice.

is that a japanese keyboard Senpai?

Openbox and lxpanel. Thank you!!

Yeah. It's kinda worn down, and the ribbon cable has a short so it's hard to get working again whenever I take it apart. A new one is in the mail. I'll be happy when it comes, this one is really worn down…
