Why the fuck you don't have a YubiKeys Sup Forums?

why the fuck you don't have a YubiKeys Sup Forums?
explain yourself.

I do

botnet

Can it open this door?

Because I have no use for one.

Depends on what colour YubiKey you buy.

>YubiKeys
what happens when I lose it?

R-Revocation?

What happens when someone steals it from you? They get access to all your shit?

>exposed contacts
>for a device meant to be kept on your key ring
its almost as if they want it to die so you have to buy another, and get locked out of all of your accounts at the same time

What happens when you lose your house key?

You either assume nobody knows its yours so they'll never try it on your house, or you change all your locks and get a new key.

those tiny USBs that fit into half the port will damage your pc. Literally no heat dissipation.

I'm not a faggot

Why would a token key need heat dissipation?

How do you change the lock on a computer?

Hidden WiFi signal to NSA

I/O newfriend

I have a fingerprint sensor on my laptop

Fingerprints aren't considered a key, and aren't considered private data. As such, if you live in the USA or Britain, you cannot refuse to give a fingerprint or refuse to unlock the laptop when legally required to.

With a backup code for each account

For all of maybe 30 seconds. If you leave your token key plugged in, then well, might as well. Consider going without it, no?

REEEE

DELEED

A backup code defeats the purpose of the Yubikey.

then what is your suggestion?

Because I don't need Yubikeys.

actually I do. I like it a lot.

I'm pretty sure you cannot refuse to unlock the laptop regardless of how you lock it, if you are legally required to.

yes you can, you will just be held in contempt of court and will go to jail

YOU CAN'T SECURE modern WESTERN TECHNOLOGY.

because they come pre-compromised

They have FBI backdoors.

You can secure Eastern, Northern and Southern technology though?

>you don't have a yubikeys"
kill yourself

>this costs like $0.20 to produce
>the electronics could fit in that tiny ass nano option
>>>it costs $50
fuck off shill, this is like 200 times as expensive as it should be

With the FOTM exploit

Having a second token key as a backup.

...

I do, managed to lose the serial key too, so I'm stuck with the password on it. loving life.

just get the cheap one and use FIDO U2F

Pardon my I/O shitpost, I just realized what these were. These were laughed at in 1st gen in '07 because they were opensource and thus not secure at all since they could be reverse engineered. It has potential now, considering its now closed, but I still wouldn't. It seems a little flimsy after some time, and getting locked out one day due to a meme would lead to a murder/suicide for me.

i got a free one from thomas ptacek, he's a real nice guy and i'm sure he hasn't backdoored it :D

>spending 2x as much for security
really now

was going to get one, but then i didn't

>Yubico has replaced all open-source components in YubiKey 4 with closed-source code, which can no longer be independently reviewed for security flaws

>2017
>not getting all your tech from Antarctica

>because they were opensource and thus not secure at all
excuse my lack of knowledge on the particulars of the 1st gen of these, but how does something being open source make it insecure

see openBSD for example

the same way windows is more secure then linux :^)

so not at all then?
