How long until there are industrially produced general purpose maid robots? Robots that perform basic chores for you, like cooking, washing clothes, changing your car's oil, preparing your bath, that kind of thing. What kind of challenges are there in the robotics industry? What breakdown are we waiting for?

By the time maid robots are as technologically viable and evolved as your picture is trying to portray them,
we will already be flying through space;
and given space is the true wild west where no societal laws can have any effect like on planet Earth, cloning your own band of whore maids from natural pornstar DNA or something will be more pleasant than having robot maids.
I'm sorry if the image implied it. I'm fine with robots that look like Asimo or Wall-E as long as they perform chores like I described. Changing the oil of a car, preparing food, preparing a bath, that kind of thing. what breakthroughs are we waiting for?

Realistically? Not till long after you're dead. Sorry man, but it won't happen in your life.
Thats pointless. Why not just have a kitchen that cooks and a bath that turns on and a garage that does basic maintinence?
2/3 of those things already exist. Why try to make one device do all of those things plus walk around.
Be reasonable. the only reason you want it in a human shape is because you want to fuck it or you want to "own a person" or want to fuck your slave.
Get a grip.
Old enough in my country.
For cuddling, that is.
>increasingly nervous tumblrina
>born too late to explore the world
>born too soon to have sex with a botnet replica of your waifu
feels bad man
>born too late to have sex with a native american woman who thinks you're a god
>mfw Matt Drudge linked article about some fuckers being worried about robots being scared about sex bots who act like they are getting raped.
> you want to fuck it
you bet your ass everyone wants to fuck it you grand fag
>Changing the oil of a car
Batteries or reactors that require substitution or recharge only after decades or even a century of use.
>preparing food
Much better when you do it yourself as you can fix the correct proportions of spices or sauces, or heat to a desired point, by taste-testing during the process; something that can't be replicated by another person to perfectly suit your taste. Cooking is easy. Only takes practice and taking notes of the shit you did right.
>preparing a bath
Easy to automate without robots, even today.
It's just that it ain't exactly a mainstream thing yet. Temperature sensors were perfected 50 years ago already, pumping systems with anti-rust materials for your desired bath shampoo or fragrance gel are also pretty much set; all just needs appropriate electronic connection which is properly isolated which also is possible today.
The only thing you need robots for is
a. Protection
b. Sex
c. Delivery of various objects
d. Training partner
I can't think of anything else.
Have her cook and clean for me
>Have her read books for me out loud
>play music for me on musical instruments
>Do my laundry
>Write computer programs for me
>Do gardening
>Take care of my various pets
>post and shill on Sup Forums on my behalf while I am sleeping
>Clean my vehicle
>reformat all my computers for me / install arch / gentoo for me while I am away
>collect the choicest meme images on the internet for me so I have a nice folder full of prime memes
>photoshop new memes for me and other photoshop duties
>remember things for me since she has perfect recall
>Be my bodyguard
>be my personal fitness trainer
>be my pillow/warmer and love making partner
>Do my taxes
>Drive my car for me if there are not already self driving taxis
>Teach me foreign languages
>I'll hand her stuff I don't want to read and have her memorize it real fast so I can ask her later
>Instead of printing things I will have her hand write them from my words
>Have her amuse me such as singing, juggling, or writing poetry
>Have her read books for me out loud
Computer AI. No need for robot.
>play music for me on muscial instruments
Also can be done via computer AI, except not limited by material instruments and can do anything with any of the thousands.
>do my laundry
Washing machines and drying machines take 5 minutes to fill and you let them do that shit.
How the fuck is laundry a chore in this day and age?
Ironing is maybe the only argument you could have, albeit we can have automated machine for that too, an ironing press of sort. In fact, i remember that these are a thing that are only short of becoming mainstream consumer machinery because of their sizes (which can be mended these days i'm sure).
>do gardening
Drones. A bunch of small drones which can get into any space and do shit in detail and while flying.
>various pets
No point in having pets if you are going to act like they don't exist.
>post and shill on Sup Forums on my behalf while I am sleeping
If a robot can mirror your personality, so can an elaborate computer bot without need for a "body".
I'm too tired to keep going.
Anyhow, most of the shit you list is better off without a robot or doesn't require one to be automated.
>botnet replica of your waifu
>wanting to fuck to a machine that just changed your oil.
>wanting to eat the food made by the machine you just fucked.
Hygiene isn't big on this site, but think it through.
Please, I own 2 fucking machines. If I could get one that does dirty talk and and pins me down(safely) I would be all over it.
I just dont want it to greet my guests or wave at my neighbors.
ok you can sell the home automation products and I will sell the 10/10 cute anime gir all in one personal human companion/ultimate assistant
we will see who comes out on top dumb dumb
I don't have to sell them to you because they are becoming part of the everyday home whether you like it or not as time goes by.
Of course you will not get to see it, just like you won't get to see robot maids.
actually im going to have a robot anime gf and youre dumb flying garden drone wont ever exist because no one wants that
>the only reason you want it in a human shape is because you want to fuck it
You say that like it's a bad thing or it's unreasonable.
Literally the first thing that happens to new technology is that we try to make porn or sex out of it.
>caring about a drawing's age
since Re:Zero is over one year old, she is now 18
i love emilia
