how the fuck can someone fuck up booting ubuntu?
did you donwload the ISO for the right architecture? (AMD64)
it should work with uefi enabled
>"some long code [amd-vi "
>nothing happens
post a photo of the code or try to google it for answers
don't give up
>the usb
god damn illiterate
>boot uefi mode
Found your problem. Disable UEFI and boot into legacy mode, also disable secure boot
What is the best Linux distributive for a power user?
Source Mage
Just does that and then nothing. Other distros work but windows is comfy.
Perhaps it's related to virtualization features of your processor? Try disabling them in setup. Update your firmware as well.
did you check the installer for errors?
don't give him bad advice, TRYING UBUNTU should work pretty much on everything
I just used rufus to do it but nothing happens after that screen.
Yup. I thought I could install arch Linux on my old surface pro. Completely fucked up it up it won't boot. Tried to install majaro instead and now it just pulls up the grub command script. I don't even know what to do because I already made the partitions and everything I just did something wrong towards the end of installing it.
>TRYING UBUNTU should work pretty much on everything
Unless there's a bug. Anyway, it's not bad advice because that feature is probably not used by him anyway, and updating your firmware/BIOS is just basic maintenance.
When I press enter it just goes back to my uefi interface. And then when I try to boot majaro from my USB it bring up the grub 2.0 command prompt thingy. Anyone got a solution
Have a ryzen system and the bios is up to date.
Try not using any USB3 ports
>ryzen system
Did you try disabling the virtualization features yet?
tfw struggled with that yday
tfw not wincuck
that said, whenever I boot w10 it overwrites the ubuntu boot launcher
the installer should have a self test option
here's another idea for you fags with very new hardware, try ubuntu 17.10
DId nothing same issue and if I boot in non uefi I get some noviou error message
>not knowing what you're doing
>complaining it doesn't work
Fuck off

Kys
Fedora
Tried ubuntu xubuntu kubuntu lubuntu mint opensuse. All error and cant finish. Now i just run the lubuntu livecd as my daily driver or boot into windows for games
>running other operating systems on bare hardware
>2017
Every CPU has at least some support for virtualization these days
i bet you downloaded the dvd image instead of the memstick one
Fedora is so shit for multimadia, I wouldn't recommend it for desktop use.
