I remember I used my laughable 120dpi display as lazy ruler.
when the line wasn't jagged and perfectly inline with the pixels it was good nuff.

Welcome the the IdeaPad 300 (formerly the Lenovo G series)
They also have a 17" 1600x900 one!
Forgot the worst thing

Also, really dim, yellow tint, pale colors and shitty viewing angles.
Lenovo/IBM always chose the worst fucking panels available.

>Then there’s the screen. It was probably mainly a cost issue, but whoever decided to limit the G40’s 15in. TFT screen to 1,024 by 768 resolution did the right thing ergonomically. We’ve seen too many super-high resolution notebook screens that are barely readable, but XGA on a 15in. diagonal is dead right.
Even the T60 came with that resolution

You don't even have to deal with a model number showing that you like crap and having to tape off pins on a keyboard and grind parts of it off to get an acceptable machine.
Eh. I got my use and then some out of that T420. I bought it used when the T430 was still selling for $600 used. After using the Chromebook though, I'm able to say I don't need so much processing power when mobile. Just basic note taking and I can wait until I get home to use my vastly more powerful desktop.

TN is better for scrolling text and games though
No it isn't. TN is total garbage for gaymen, because it basically has no contrast.
Do you have linux on it at least?
I bought a macbook air for same reasons, and arch runs perfectly on it.
>tfw 14 fucking hours of battery
No. I intended to at first. But found that the 3rd party BIOS needed didn't fully support stuff like audio because the model I have has a "Skullcandy tuned DAC". I.e. non standard driver.
ChromeOS is comfy though I'll admit. It's a glorified DE wrapped around the Chrome Browser I know, but comfy none the less. Also m Chromebook has a SATA based m.2 SSD. I could replace it if I wanted.
>VLC
Like your one to judge
Yeah thats why I avoided buying a chromebook
Ironically the macbook air is the only super portable laptop that runs linux well. Even the xps has problems
