>Note: Starting in Firefox 57, which will be released in November 2017, only add-ons built with this new technology will work in Firefox. These are indicated by the “Compatible with Firefox 57+” label on addons.mozilla.org (AMO). Add-ons built with the old technology are labeled “Legacy” on the about:addons tab.
/thread this really didn't need its own thread, op

Austin Morgan
Holy shit is this real? Can you actually enable legacy addons in FF57+?
Luke Watson
There's a webextension version of uBlock Origin.
Stylus is a non-botnet webextension replacement for Stylish.
Tampermonkey/Violentmonkey for Greasemonkey.
SmartHTTPS instead of HTTPS Everywhere.
All webextensions.
Caleb Clark
started my migration. getting rid of a few add-ons, most of the more important ones are being made webext so i'm set really.
Christopher Howard
Firefox ESR
Ethan Powell
I'm using Nightly 57 and all my addons have been updated to webextensions already. Most of the major ones are either in the process of conversion or already are. OP you need to learn how to perform basic software updates.
Christian Parker
if all you use are simple headers manipulators shit, you could just be using any browser
shit like noscript, greasemoney, treestyletabs, downthemall, just cant work on webextensions
a webextension-only firefox is a just tranny googel chrome, its just dumb
Jackson Campbell
All-in-one gestures is not updated, likely won't be. No alternative is good enough.
Grayson Diaz
I just want tree style tabs to work. All my other extensions are non essential.
Ian Russell
i switched to pale moon
Connor Carter
Is there any suitable replacement for BetterPrivacy since it disappeared?
Joshua Green
Pretty sure NoScript is going to be ready for FF57.
Jack Gutierrez
Afaik it is, and there are not one but two Greasemonkey clones available too.
Tyler Gutierrez
comfy with with waterfox here. enjoy your 32 bit SJW shit.
Levi Reed
>2017 >not using brave
Enjoy your botnet
Ryan Cooper
>32 bit What?
Isaiah Campbell
Brave is shit tier on the desktop. Needs a LOT of work.
It's decent on mobile, though.
Easton Gomez
Since this thread is already on the subject of browsers, can someone post that Google Chrome botnet même picture and it's respective Firefox parody?
Owen Cook
> How do you plan to deal with this shit? Migrate to some fork or ESR.
Julian White
With waterfox
Gavin Cox
web extansions are cancer
Grayson Cruz
>user agent switcher Stop using this garbage and reducing Firefox's market share
Zachary Brooks
Not him, but I use an Agent Spoofer to make my fingerprint look like Windows FF.
Dominic Barnes
That's even more retarded.
Adrian Gomez
I don't care what you think. It keeps web pages loading properly, reduces my fingerprint, and, thanks to firejail, I'm not particularly worried about any any target attacks.
Daniel Allen
>Tampermonkey/Violentmonkey for Greasemonkey Except it doesn't support all user scripts, and no DTA replacement.
Ethan Stewart
I use it to spoof mobile platform to access stupidly designed sites.
Aaron Sullivan
It's literally impossible with webext. It's gone and not coming back.
Leo King
I think that's a nightly only setting.
Brody Kelly
Vimfx is dead :( Maybe switch to vimium webext some time
Matthew Taylor
Name an userscript not supported by Tamper/Violentmonkey.
Jonathan Bell
Why the fuck would you have both HTTPS everywhere and Smart HTTPS?
Parker Rivera
>Switch to nightly they said >It's way better they said
Isaiah Powell
yep, did this on all my ff installations weeks ago I'd die without vimperator.
Angel Foster
It's faster and uBlock Origin is already supported. That's all I care about. Other addons will come when stable switches to webext.
Nathaniel Baker
If Classic Theme Restorer stops working there is literally no reason not to switch to Chrome full time. Firefox has nothing going for it
Dylan Sullivan
Also. While there are many extensions I can probably find a replacement for. Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar, DownThemAll(though I only need it for the bandwidth limit option for downloads) and 4chanX are vital to how I use the internet.
So far the only browser I've used that has an option for hiding names in the bookmarks toolbar is Brave, but that thing is barely usable right now. Maybe for some but there are many I doubt will ever get a good replacement.
Jordan Robinson
What about the botnet?
Christian Clark
>4chanX are vital to how I use the internet hahahaha
Jacob Lopez
Except the botnet and shit adblocking. There's actually no reason to use chrome once Firefox gets web extensions.
Gavin Rivera
You go ahead and switch to Chrome, then. CTR is going to stop working. Firefox is also going to stop looking retarded without CTR, but CTR won't work.
Mason Lopez
Why is that amusing? I spend a lot of time on here and I can not go back to f5ing threads every 3 seconds like I did back in the day or having to use the awful "click on all the mountains" captcha.
Adam James
>it's disabled i'd guess it was shown as legacy and he got smart https as a replacement without removing https everywhere
Blake Adams
>How do you plan to deal with this shit? only use new fast multicore proof addons
Jack Fisher
Waterfox. No legacy no mozilla.
Andrew Collins
Sup Forums X works perfectly in Violentmonkey, you can use that.
Ethan Bennett
you want surfingkeys
Chase Garcia
Neat. Now I only need two more replacements and I could start thinking about using it.
I assume you meant to quote ?
Kayden Phillips

Connor Parker
Update what?
Aiden Parker
>these people actually use Firefox
Gabriel Perez
and what the fuck do you use faglord?
John Mitchell
does anyone know an alternative to flashgot? it has been a pain in the ass.
Jeremiah Perez
Virtually impossible on 57+
Cameron Morgan
Pale Moon of course.
Ayden Hernandez
goddammit
Logan Thomas
>no alternate to htitle >fireshit looks absolutely horrible on Gnome Which browser should I use anons?
Carter Evans
>can't set my newtab page to a local file >can't open mpv by right clicking a video link
Yeah, I'm not upgrading ever. Good thing nightly exists so I can check how many features they remove with every new version they release.
John Perry
I knew it you fuckin furfag
Ryan Perez
>wah wah furfag wah wah pale meme My browser does exactly what I want it to do and all my addons work.
Enjoy your SJWFox.
Jose Miller
There's nothing wrong with SJWs and SJWs would actually be one of the few groups that would support furfags.
Jace Russell
>There's nothing wrong with SJWs without these retards most companies and projects would be way better and would actually do anything, instead they only whine about everything that is not important at all and slow progress
William Gomez
Tampermonkey is proprietary, use violentmonkey only
It works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ certainly a lot faster than logging into ehentai before logging into ex, and I can't be arsed to save cookies
Daniel Gutierrez
>Waterfox users
Kayden White
>SmartHTTPS instead of HTTPS Everywhere. Smart HTTPS-like functionality becomes built-in on 57+.
Dylan Watson
really? smartHTTPs has an ability to blacklist websites from defaulting to http. Can firecuck do the same?
Cooper Anderson
Can I just disable http sites in general?
If someone can't even host their website in https why should I visit?
Christopher Stewart
I will get the ones that are updated by competent developers. Not everyone has this problem, faggotron.
Evan Miller
>Smart HTTPS-like functionality becomes built-in on 57+ source?
Wyatt Russell
Not sure why I thought it, but I looked and I was wrong. Too good to be true, huh?
Jeremiah Jackson
What about NoScript?
Landon Hill
Protip: changing UA string to what Google/Yahoo/MSN crawlers use lets you get paywalled content on many sites. Just don't tell anyone, mkay?
Landon White
Author is working on it.
The only big extensions that 100% ded with literally no alternatives are FlashGot/DownThemAll and MAF/UnMHT.
Anthony Hughes
Smart HTTPs isn't a replacement, it's way better than https everywhere. It actually checks if the website supports https instead using a small incomplete list.
Nathaniel Stewart
fag
Evan Powell
x does fundamentally the same as y x has more features than y x is better x still does fundamentally the same as y y can be replaced with x without loosing this basic functionality thus x is a replacement for y
Jason Hill
Switch to Brave.
Cameron Perry
psshh..
lol look at this faggot he doesn't use faceb00k.com/l.php as his referrer for wsj , ft, or any other pay-walled site.
Jackson Ortiz
and CTR
Carter Ramirez
Care to tell me how to install that in Firefox? Is it even possible (I said vimium I meant the firefox equivalent webextension thing)
Christopher Phillips
Yeah, and CTR. Always forget about it because I'm using FT DeepDark since they ruined interface.
Charles Watson
If you're worried about the lso supercookies just don't use flash.
Gavin Lewis
writing you own/searching for dl scripts like a proper neet script-kiddie ubermensch
