You might want to get a better cooler, and the best thermal paste is Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or Noctua NH-1. I personally think Fractal Define C would be better, but cases are subjective as fuck. I would get the cheapest AsRock MB that you can find for an i7. MBs don't change significantly between designs, the largest difference would be if you are going to seriously OC or need a specific feature. You probably don't need a $200 MB when $80-100 would be fine.

1. the 7700k runs hot when it's been overclocked (which is the only reason you'd get the 7700k and Z270 motherboard) so i picked out a different cooler
2. i picked out a motherboard with a similar aesthetic that also had wi-fi built in to the board
3. don't worry about thermal paste. you'll see differences of 3-5 degrees between the included paste and some high grade shit
4. changed out your RAM for something better

256GB will not cut it, you'll be uninstalling and reinstalling all the fucking time unless you only play like 4 games. You have to consider that most of todays AAA's are 35-40GB and that even a fresh ass Wangblows install is approximately 50GB.
Get one of the Seasonic passively cooled units.
Upgrade to micro-ATX or ITX and stop being a tool. It's obvious you have zero means or intentions to capitalize on the ATX form factor. Buy an AMD CPU and stop being a tool. They're cooler, and better at everything but gaming, and in gaming they parallel 7700K performance. You also don't need to delid. Buy a better cooler. Buy quieter case fans, don't buy ASUS motherboards. Get Thermal Grizzly or some Chill Factor 3.
