>My first Android was a BQ Aquaris E5 4G.
> had to return it twice in the first 5 months because boot loop. Back then I didn't even root it or anything. It just fucked up on its own twice.
>After that, one time I ran to the bus station and the phone had a crack on the screen. FROM THE INSIDE.
>It wasn't an actual crash, it didn't fall, nothing. It had an internal crack. I'm guessing because of the heat? No fucking clue.
>And when I called them they offered me a new E5 if I paid 150€. So I told them to shove it.
>And after that I started working for Samsung at
>retail store. I helped the BQ guys to shill their >shit sometimes, but the amount of returns and >refunds we had to give for those was ABSURD.
>The M5 2015 had a 90% RMA rate.

>90 fucking percent RMA rate.

>The X is lower, but it still gets returned because they talk about it like they're sellng a cheaper S7, and the quality is just not there. They're good if you're planning to upgrade before a year.

Reposting because warnings are good.

>current year
>3cm bezels
>literally 2x bigger than my 2015 samsung S6
into the trash it goes

What's the problem, too big for your manlet hands?

Who here is waiting for the 10.3.2-10.3.1 jailbreak? I'm ready.

HAPPENING
twitter.com/essential/status/898174192503226369

So what does jailbreak actually give you?

What's the advantage?

Moto G5S / Moto G5S Plus - worth the money?

Not me, I'm not an Apple cuck

G5S, probably not. G5S Plus possibly, depends on how good the camera is.

Honor 8
> great performance
> no updates
Moto G5+
> slower
> some updates

How much more real life performance the honor 8 has over the Moto g5+? I can't choose

G5s series is right around the corner, even if you don't get it, its release should decrease the price of the G5 plus 4GB.

Shit streaming service shows this.

I'm rooted, I put this app as Hidden on magisk Hide, also using adaway - tried to whitelist it but no luck

>order RN3P from Ali shilled here in Nov 2016
>DOA. Random resets. Good luck I purchased with warranty (not so good, see later)
>give it a chance trying some ROMs (official global and Chinese, official beta). Confirmed HW failure
>Claim warranty in February. Page was wrong. Claimed warranty in march, send the phone in May. Thinking it would take long got a Xiaomi 4A as a temporary phone for the summer
>After long dispute via email they agree to send RN4 global as replacement.
>Today I got a RN4 but it's not global as agreed, but the local Chinese version instead.

So I ended up with these two phones

Redmi 4A global 2/32GB, qualcomm processor
Redmi Note 4 China Unicom 3/64GB Helios processor

Should I keep one and sell/give to a friend/keep as backup the other ? Or sell both and get a Note 4 global instead

I haven't sold a phone

Does someone use a custom ROM for his Redmi here and could share the experience? All ROM on XDA seem to have camera and video recording issues which would suck rly bad. Tho my phone got shipped with a vendor ROM and bugs out sometimes.

redmi 4 pro/prime

/spg/ help

Burger here. On t mobile. Which phone should I get?

>Price doesn't matter, I'm flush at the moment
>Bigger screen is preferable
>Good to excellent battery life
>Finger print scanner (on front is preferable)
>Gsm
>Nice camera
>no iPhone or chinkshit

I'm guessing s8+? I'm using Moto right now and I love it. But it's time to waste some cash.

>buy xiaoshit
>it's dead
>buy another xiaoshit
>still wants to buy _another_ xiaoshit
Fucking retard. stop buying this junk chinkshit and get a real phone you dumb numbnut.

adaway is shit because shit like this

Does Nokia use RCS?

Just flash the Xiaomi.eu ROM

Note 8 and LG V30 are coming out soon-ish

Brit here, looking all over the internet for an answer to this:

If I shipped over one of the indian Samsung phones (J7 Pro) can I use Android Pay? I don't care if it's that or Samsung's own shit, so long as i can do sweet wireless payments.

halp pls

Both models haven't been released? Thing is, my tm sim is riding in one of those plastic caddy's. It's cutting in and out and giving me cancer taking off the back and fondling it. I was planning on pulling the trigger after work today.

Note 8 is being announced on the 23rd, LG V30 on the 31st, so expect them to be available around September.

I'm happy with the 4A, works fine, battery lasts and it's a perfect summer phone, it was 95€ so I'm not afraid of losing it, get it stolen or drown in the pool by mistake. In fact I'm thinking about just keeping the 4A and selling the RN4 Helios new in the box.

I had flagships before and it's not really worth it

guys, redmi note 4 or mi 5x? The mi 5x has a nicer design but redmi note 4 has almost the same specs and is cheaper, what do?

No you can't.

Ex-Samsung rep here. You'd need an indian bank account.

They only work with the country they were bought in.

Moto G5+.

moto g5+ looks as shit
it has okay specs but is ugly af

>they agree to send RN4 global
>I got a RN4 but it's not the global
dispute

My gf has a G5 (not plus) and I know it's not for me. 5'' but huge bezels so huge phone. It has to fit in my jeans pocket next to a Samsung A3 (work phone)

I like the swappable battery though.

>muh looks
faget.

Can't dispute, it's outside AliExpress (external warranty provider) dispute period ended months ago

any phones in 200-500$ range that are not too big?
I just want a 4,5 - 5 inch screen for my manlet hands goddamnit

Huawei Nova or Honor 8. both slim and small.

Samsung A3 (2017)

What is the explanation for the disappearence of notification LEDs

sorry, I guess when you spend all your time in the basement, having an ugly phone is normal

>XZ1
Now it only needs a compact edition with the same specs.

there is a rumor that there will be indeed a xz1 compact

HTC 10, xperia x, mi6

also i prefer a nicer phone that is better overall

iPhone SE, Xperia X Compact

Samsung S7 is only 5'1 now so you can get that. It's around 450€ now.

Also the Xperia Compact series is really cool if it's still being made.

Muh space-saving for borderless phones.

Damn... Any better alternatives? I like my imdb ad free.

How about 3Gb Ram and 1.5Ghz? found in the earlier thread the Oukitel K10.000 or 6000 and both seem kinda interesting. Could go for the 10k model just for the battery. Just under 200€ from Amazon

your carrier has to support RCS.
and if it does all you need is the Google messages app.

>mediakek
>no U.S bands
No. Lenovo P2 or RN4.

Not everyone lives in the US, retard

Adguard is the best since it has cosmetic filters, it also has the best lists.

you can just deactivate the filtering for your straming app and it will work.

for root users you can use the local http proxy if you don't want to use the vpn.

What the fuck do I buy if I care about security?

I've been using Android full-time for seven years now and it's still a shitshow in every way, especially security. It's actually gotten worse since Google started railroading everyone into using their proprietary shitware. I wouldn't even mind proprietary shitware that much - I like iOS - but Google's is absolutely atrocious and the other Android OEMs are even worse. My current phone is a Sony and the only Sony app that doesn't deserve the firing squad treatment is the camera. Also, it's three years old, which makes it one year too old to get any support from Sony - my options are running Android with a 2016 patch level or running LineageOS, which is broken in all sorts of interesting ways on anything that isn't a Nexus 5X.

I want a phone with good to excellent camera and headphone audio quality. I'd like it to not have any known bizarre issues like bootloops (hello LG), radio issues (hello Asus), overheating, GPS lag and so on. If it must be an Android phone, I'd like it to run LineageOS without any bizarre undiagnosable bugs or lost functionality.

I'm currently a poorfag and my budget is $500 or so if I'm pushing it.
A new iPhone 6 costs $510 here. I don't like the iPhone SE very much but it's around $440, which is somewhat more manageable. Newer iPhones are way2expensive for me.
As for Blackberries, a Priv is $370, a Classic is around $320 and a Passport is around $270 for some reason. Would one of those be worth it?

What would you recommend, /spg/?

OP3T or iPhone SE. The 6 is not worth it, it's 3 years old already.

Still a shit phone you twat.

How much is the keyone worth in your region?

I can get an "almost new" second-hand iPhone 6S with "battery at 90% capacity" and "warranty" for around $450. Does that sound like a reasonable decision?

A new one is about $640, which is a bit excessive. Is it the best thing since sliced bread or something?

so how is this nokia 8? seem good?

How is it shit? that battery does tempt me more than it should, I hike a lot so would be nice to be able to listen to music with the phone too and not just pick it up when absolutely needed.
Also,EU. Looking to buy on Amazon.de

Probably best to assume it's shit until proven otherwise.

My mom has a Motorola android and her textmessages app dissapeared, where can it Be found again? Not watsapp but the actual sms app that is Standard and shouldnt Be deletable.

Also should add that she lives 2 hours away and I can only help trough phone.

She probably just deleted the icon on the homepage by accident. Should still be in the app drawer, app name is Messaging or Messages, just drag and drop it back to the homescreen

Tell her to install play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging for minimum hassle

doesn't even show up in the apps menue? Or the list in the settings where all the apps are listed?

I just want a 5" inch screen, USB type-C, band 20 and if it's possibly maybe NFC for around 200$.

Is there anything like that out there? Feels like I can't find anything.

That is the stock SMS app in Motorola phones, at least in the newer ones.

Pretty much this
kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-huawei-nova

forgot the lte band 20
kimovil.com/en/compare-smartphones/f_max_d eurPrice.250,f_max_d screenSize.5,fe_bands-lte-800,fe_usb-type-c

is an iPhone 6s Plus still worth it?

I can pick up a 16GB model (I just browse and stream shit) for £320/~$410

Thx maynes. Huawei Nova looks great. Maybe o go for it.

Lads got an email of my phone provider today saying I can upgrade early if I upgrade before September 9th.

I'm looking at the note 8 but what are the chances of it being released in UK markets before then?

Also the S8plus looks gorgeous is that a decent back up phone if the Note 8 plan fails?

none tbw.
pirated apps, a vulnerable device and some features available on android.

ATTENTION SWEDES

With Tele2 you can get a Huawei P10 silver/black 64GB for only 3194SEK. Just order a P10 with monthly payment 499SEK/month for 6 months. You will need to pay some bullshit fee for 200SEK so the first bill is 699SEK. After you get your first bill you can just ask customer service to pay for the rest of the months if you just wanna do it directly so total cost will be 3194SEK for the whole phone.

Its like half price buying it from any other store. Feel free to jew Huawei locally.

How sad it is that there's pretty much no phone worth a buy except the ones from chinese companies
No phone with mid-high specs for an affordable price has really been released in the past two years, what are they thinking?
Currently holding onto a HTC One X and there's nothing that makes me want to upgrade except Xiaomi phones

it's not really an upgrade if notifications don't work, the hardware is shittier quality, and there's zero software support outside of some fucked up retardation only the chinks can come up with

Hi /spg/, is there any site that has charts like pic related for smartphone manufacturers? Something that clearly shows the release and production dates, how the phone ranks from entry-level to high end, and optionally showing some more common features with meta-formatting (eg. waterproof).

I hate smartphones and I have no fucking clue about them, but my Nexus 4 (which I got as hand-me-down in the first place) is going to shit more and more every day so I want to make an educated choice when picking a replacement.

Bonus question - anywhere that will explain to me like to a child which smartphone CPUs and GPUs are better than the others and why?

As Eurofriend living in America now I'm tempted to wait for Nokia 8 but the battery capacity worries me. It seems the lowest out of the few models on my radar, and I've fucking had it with the shit battery in Nexus 4.

Yea that's why I don't really want to buy one

Kimovil filters are the closest you got
kimovil.com/en/compare-smartphones

So-so, still waiting for some monster camera flagship (may take forever). This seems to be designed for video loggers or such.

There's some first views around in net. Some dislike the bezels. It has great cooling though. Nothing extraornidary, just something for someone who wants certain widely used smartphone components in certain build.

>I have smartphones and I have no fucking clue about them
Then buy a fucking dumbphone. Stop being a cuck and giving in to peer pressure.

Buying a random, cheapo $200€ phone or even cheaper one is a good option also. Eventually you learn what to miss in an actual smartphone.

What about the plus model or just the regular?

Any verizon customers have input in choosing between message+ and the stock samsung messages app? They seem largely identical.

Plus version is 998kr/month for 6 months so its not so much worth it. new price are like 6500kr.

I use the same few mathematical functions over and over with slight modifications to a single modifier; is there any app I could save them in and just input the modifier for quick access?
Preferably free as in free.

Tell me about the new Nokia. Is it going to be a meme or is it the next iphone destroyer?
Looks pretty good.

>chinese
no thanks

I was pissy when I found out my Moto had no file manager built into it.
It wasn't until I went into the store that I saw there was an update for a file manager that I had installed, but somehow never seen. Turns out it was, I think, disabled by default, so it didn't show up anywhere.
She's either dumb and can't find it in the app drawer, or it somehow ended up being disabled, or a freak accident wiped it, in which case you can just get the stock app in the store.

neither a samsung or an iphone destroyer I think but it seems pretty good and is cheaper

The headphone jack removal meme isn't going to die, is it?

Is this ok for an Android phone?

Samsung Evo Plus 64GB Microsd MB-MC64GA
UHS-I U3

What phone would you consider to be on par with the Nexus 6?

That's like saying "buy a calculator instead of a computer". I'd happily be using my Nokia 6300 still if it was practical, but it's not.

As I said I have Nexus 4 that I got for free and I know what I want from a new smartphone, but with the amount of models on the market, the number of bullshit paid reviews, and even greater number of useless reviews from clueless users and/or pajeets, I'm having a hard time finding a reliable starting point and resource to educating myself and making an educated choice. Also it seems that by the time that actual thorough and objective tests for a model come out, the model is already obsolete and no longer available first-hand.

It's just fucking frustrating when all I want is a solid reliable device that will last me the next few years, unlike a lot of people who seem to flip between phones every 6 fucking months.

samsung s8? or wait for iphone 8? top of the line

Well that's a neverending project as something nice is always around the corner and reviews are contradicting each other like you said.

You can compare specs in a sites like Phonearena if you leave the reviews alone. Decide what's the most important feature you desire, pick a least sucky phone and then come back to rant how shit it turned out to be actually.

What's the easiest way to determine whether I'm being ignored or if my sms messages aren't going through?

SMS Ping, on f-droid.

Been looking at actual cameras and I don't think phones will match in quality to modern cameras for a very long time. I'm just thinking of getting a point and shoot while dealing with a Moto g5, instead of spending 800 on a flagship with a decent camera.
