Miners and AI researchers

It's only $499 though. If oyu want tohe two 'FREE' games just buy the pack for $100 extra! It's a bargain!

Cryptoniggers

RTG doesn't have anywhere near enough software development staff. It's very obvious based on how expensive Vega 56 and Vega 64 are to produce that they were targeted to perform significant better than they presently do and priced accordingly.

The problem is that the driver team was very obviously totally overwhelmed by getting drivers done for Vega WX/SSG/MI/FE and RX and the gaming drivers were essentially barely started when Vega FE hit release, and are literally half-finished now. Who the fuck knows if V56 and V64 can ever perform anything like they were clearly intended to? We aren't going to find out what they are really capable of for fucking MONTHS at this rate.

Fine wine drivers in one year

amd lied about the price to get better reviews

channeled all their engineering genius into ryzen. nothing left for grafix cards.

200$ over msrp in Europe.

At this price you can almost get 1080Ti which shits on that crap.

Needless to say you can get 1080 with price of vega

daily reminder the 1080ti is faster

>Vega actually selling for $750 here in troll land
>Meanwhile a 1080, which is superior at just about everything, goes for $660

Why is AMD so fucking retarded when it comes to selling shit in Europe? Every damn time. So glad I have never waited for their bullshit.

There is only one answer

gcn
polaris
and vega?

driver team could never do a single arch correctly. 17.7.2 totally breaks 300 series cards, still a bunch of issues on polaris. wattman is a piece of shit and should be optional.
I have a 390, they are shitting on me and expect me to get the next gen?
fuck amd I'm going green next.

The only answer is that GCN does not scale well for gaming at high ALU counts. It just needs too much memory bandwidth to work.
Everyone has seen the benchmarks where they are good at GPGPU numbercrunching but suck at gaming because GCN shits the bed when it is starved for bandwidth. I just don't understand why AMD kept GCN even after Fiji bottleneck fest and repeated it all on vega.

Wrong

Just HBM2 supply issues

It is HD 5870/5850 shortage 2.0

>Just HBM2 supply issues
We had a thread disproving this already.
HBM2 stock is NOT the issue.

Dog shit marketing.

Miners + HBM2 production issues happened.

HBM wasn't even worth doing, which is the sad thing. Memory bandwidth wasn't a bottleneck.

seriously though the only two things you can complain about is the price and marketing
hardware is not bad at all for 56 variant, 64 and specially 64 liquid is stupid but that falls into marketing faults department

>Memory bandwidth wasn't a bottleneck.
56 gains 20% more performance from FREE 180mhz hbm overclock
and literary free it has zero power and temperature impact

How can I profit off this shortage?

retarded scalpers already bought all the cards but nobody buying them

New GPU syndrome, exacerbated by the extra demand from miners.

Why not 2x 1080 Ti instead?

Because 1050 Ti exists.

This is the "pay for the HBM2 technology, the card".
Later they will do a decent GPU chip to actually take advantage of the tech they invested on this one.

People buying cards to profit from the shortage by reselling are what caused the shortage. Miners aren't even interested.

Yeah, in Poland it is literally $30 cheaper than 1080ti and $200 more than 1080, so why bother.

cryptocunts

kek if true

It's 599, the price was only for the first batch.

but vega is really bad for mining

Manufacturers being greedy pieces of shit as usual

can you provide a link to a place that sells a vega 64 in poland?

>the leather jacket poster suddenly vanished

t. leather jacket man

Another
Major
Disappointment

In France and Belgium, they all are sold 750€ but they won't start shipping them for at least two weeks. That's 880 USD btw...

What the actual fuck with these prices and total lack of supply AMD?

>RX vega 64 is 650 Eurobux in shitty FE at shady retailers
>aftermarket MSI gtx 1080 is at 600 on amazon

Fuckin' hell AMD, what the hell is wrong wit' ya ?

you know it

Quit complaining if you arent American. Your nationality and smell renders your argument irrelevant and childish. Enjoy your shit country and the choices you made

Dumb nigger, the 1080 is $100 cheaper in burgerland too.

How stupid are you?

You think 650 € is bad? Vega 64 sells for 770 € here in Finland. The watercooled version is 900 €, and yes people do buy them.

>Finland
at least you can warm yourself with it

no it's not

>mfw this is the price of them in my country

staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?price-min=700&q=vega 64&pda=0&spos=7

Is the supply really that bad, are people even buying at these prices? wtf...

yep their all out of stock fucking miner retards

>dual gpu's in 2017
Nah.

Yes, it still is.

GP100 are also still hard to come by if you want one. The only difference is where built and marketed with ultra-low volume/ultra-high profit margin a.k.a "supercar" selling model.

There isn't enough HBM2 chips rated at specs required for Vega to go around.

AMD did a paper launch with Vega 64, despite having several delays beforehand. Miners are just a convenient scapegoat.

Miners don't give a shit about Vega since it eats too much power and has too much upfront cost. It falls in the same pitfalls as 1080Ti for mining. The scalpers are ones who buying up the extremely limited supply in the hope that desperate fanboys are willing to fork $800+ over a "power-hungry 1080-tier gaming performance"

It eats too much power for a small HR bump over a 470/480 and 1070 and cost almost 50-100% more. The same pitfalls that 1080ti suffers from.

"Miners" is a convenient scapegoat to protect AMD from doing an obvious paper launch.

Bought 2 at MSRP for compute. Feels good man.

Is HBM2 even going to make a difference?
It doesn't seem like memory performance is all that important in vidya.
Both the Fury X and Vega performed pretty mediocre.

I plan to switch to ryzen so the bundle comes handy for me. I don't get what's your fuss is about. But I don't really need a card more powerful than the 480 I have.
