You need to run journalctl -xe if you are going to have any chance of us helping you.
sorry i forgot
> journalctl -xe
It often does not help because it's basically a syslog. It may work for a DE, though.
What is your package manager? Did you install a lightdm manager? If so, did you enable it in the configuration?
Sorry, it's called a greeter, make sure you have one installed and enabled.
Installed lightdm, xorg, lightdm-gtk-greeter, i3 with pacman. and changed session-greeter in config. this always worked for me .
Don't use a meme distro or try installing gdm.
Paste your lightdm config somewhere.
Gdm works fine. But I dont like gnome :/
its just the default. only changed #session-greeter to session-greeter=lightdm-gtk-greeter
In the wildcard seat section? That's mainly what I wanted to see.
If so, then for now disable lightdm, and xinit /usr/bin/i3 so that you can run lightdm --test-mode --debug
install gentoo, fgt
Didi you install xserver stuff?
nop
I'm about to have to airplane mode for my flight, so hopefully you got it, it sounds like you forgot an x package though. I think you're looking for "xorg-server-utils"
Anyways, good luck, hope you get it.
Get rid of lightdm, total trash
Either use xinit or SLiM
I had the same problem. Using LXDE now
Install gentoo
I've got a perfect solution for you OP: stop using display managers.
>os: Parabola
Stop being a GNU/autist and use a real distro maybe.
>he uses a display manager
Not your personal Support Service.
That being said, I had a similar problem. I think it was a bug in the config. Can't remember shit right now.

It's your own fault for using useless bloat software.
Gotta love the descriptive error messages, all it says is "Something went wrong" in different ways.
