You got me obsessed with this little bugger. Does it have any actual practical use or is it just pure masturbation?

>does a general computing device have actual practical use
We have to go back.

>1978
>buy a PET
>literary an oversized calculator, a home micro
>get all the use out of it possible, so many things
>2017
>buy small computation device
>fits in your pocket
>several cores, more memory then all the digital storage from 50 years ago combined
>"lol guys, csn it do anything??"

This. Pretty much cringe.

Please.

The device options you had in 1978 for portable computing were limited. You can get a lot done on a phone / tablet, and unless you are carrying the fucking oldest thinkpads around, a laptop isn't that cumbersome.

Questioning the need of a device like this is normal, especially at its price point. I definitely don't "need" one but if it was cheaper then I would be interested in something for light typing and web browsing while at lunch or something when I don't want a bring a laptop.

I am a fashionable girl and also Linux engineer so yes its very useful for me.

Don't be obtuse. Does it a fill a gap between the laptop, phone, tablet and PC everyone has? Is it practical? What kind of tasks is it suited for with it's hardware and kb+m setup?

totally missing the point

Do you need a phone?
Do you need a smartphone?
Do you need a desktop?
Do you need a laptop?
Do you need a UMPC?
Do you need a workstation?

Pretty fucking stupid questions to ask someone else instead of yourself.

Yes I'm posting from one right now. You have all the multitasking goodness of a real laptop while being ultra portable. I actually use if for work on the go as I can alt tab between emails and my browser based booking system.

My only complaint is that it took a little while to get used to the keyboard offset and layout.

All the common complaints either aren't actually an issue or can be fixed. The delete key etc can be fixed with autohotkey. The Capslock being close to A isn't an issue at all, haven't hit it by accident despite my giant mitts.

The trackpoint position is fine for this device and any other position wouldn't have worked.

could you do us a favor and list the hardware -ie what wifi chip?
I read on indiegogo that it has issues with standby, atleast on ubuntu where it resumes while closed.
Is this the case for windows aswell?
how long does the battery last while you're browsing ?

are those keys removable/interchangeable? dvorakfag here

Broadcom 802.11ac Wireless PCIE Full Dongle Adapter.

Yeah it can take awhile to get started from standby. I do have it set to disconnect from the network on lid close though.

Looks like other users have broken the switches when trying to remove keys. Haven't tried it myself.

Overpriced garbage
Stop fucking shilling it

Shut up you dumb retard let people talk about things they like

Sorry, probs about 6 hours battery life using ff nightly and thunderbird.

It looks cute enough but I thought we all agreed that netbooks were dead for a reason.

Hello, Tor developers. I don't give a fuck about what you like.

>that keyboard

just look at the WASD. trash.

Did they fix the Amazon description yet? It's broken English.

google says it should be
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43EC
can you confirm this?

Anyone here using it with GNU/Linux?
I haven't been able to find any infomration about the capabilities of that wifi card. Could someone check if it supports packet injection and monitor mode ?

sounds promising.
I've been eyeballing it aswell

xaomi has confirmed they are making something in that form factor, i think they will knock it out the park... id wait for that one, probably will sell my MBA and get one

but why, the only people who pst this shit on /g are shills, the only images posted are renders, the actual machine is a plastic cheap looking kids toy

Check out this sweet render

Zing !
Burned !

You're an idiot.

is that an x86 processor?

Yeah

This looks less comfortable to browse on than even a smartphone, at least at that zoom level. Would rather have a touchscreen to scroll than use space / arrows if the screen is only going to show a few posts at a time

built in LTE would be cool

>Would rather have a touchscreen to scroll
but you do

I think people don't realize that it's touhscreen also. Not just nipple+kb.

I'd rather make myself a Rpi laptop with a batterypack, a chink screen on ali and a tiny bluetooth keyboard. Would be cheaper and more efficient too.

Link? I bet it will be a lot cheaper then this shit.

What case would you put it all into though?

Oh ok.

>The device options you had in 1978 for portable computing were limited.
... and still there are space probes out there from that timeframe, that are still working and responding while samsung & co try to make us believe that our phones from last year are now old, outdated and trash tier.

fisherprice shit, enjoy your buyer's remorse idiot

Honestly I increased the text size so that guys post was extremely visible. I normally have the text size smaller and its fine.
But I don't have buyer's remorse. I like it very much. You seem to be the perturbed one user.
