What's the best /cyb/ phone on the market?

Don't use phones and certainly not smartphones.

>yfw threads dying already

People need to wake up!

any "popular" phone that's at least a year old. Make sure you can root it and install a rom with no gapps and you should be fine with a little more tweaking

anybody know where to buy/rent a secure server possibly in eastern europe? how secure would that be if I run my email through it and possibly a small website

i just use protonmail. i personally suspect the swiss are either aliens or elves in disguise. they didn't even fight in ww2, hitler just left them alone. i wonder if he may have been afraid of something about them

Stay woke senpai.

I'll stay woke.

The Swiss are simply graceful.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a VPN?

I've gotten more curious about privacy online and shit like that. Like using Tor, VPN, all that.

Any advice?

so lads, is cyberpunk truly now?

does /cyb/ + /sec/ like shorewall/iptables firewalls?

The future is now.

does anybody have a decent guide on layer 2 security?

I read the NSA Ethernet security manual but it's esoteric af and talks about black/red networks that I've never seen deployed in a business setting

Cyberpunk has nothing to do with cyber security

PIA.
There it is again.

Link 2 man?

thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/

google the words you don't know the meaning.
also remember that vpns provide privacy; not anonymity, which is tor's job. confusing the two will land you in jail if you're doing illegal stuff.

I hope so

>confusing the two will land you in jail if you're doing illegal stuff.

at this point. just about anything you do online, even me posting this comment on here could be construed as something illegal depending on who's reading it. i swear im starting to get paranoid for people going to trial for simply making facebook comments that someone doesnt like

perhaps, but that's not what i meant. i meant more in the lines of carding and the like

This thread is now complete.
Thank you.

I meant is it good or should I use something better

From last thread that expired before i could follow up:
▶ (You)
>this doesnt look cyb at all.
Did you read it all? As I say it starts out looking like plain military action. It does however change, a lot.

>stop asking for shit to go into the faq. youre not that special. any of you.
Dude, I am writing the FAQ. It is thus my privilege to add what I want. It is also my pleasure to ask for feedback and comments.

We've been living in a cyberpunk future for a while now
pdf.textfiles.com/zines/INTERESTINGTIMES/

That's an excellent link.
Thank you, user-san.

On a side note, do you have any links to similar zines (that are still going)?
Too many good zines end up going.
Including LainZine.

cryptome.org/2013/09/nsa-ethernet-security.pdf

>On a side note, do you have any links to similar zines (that are still going)?
A lot of zines, current and gone, are listed in the FAQ.

Neondystopia seems quite good.

The FTP sites (currently down) had a lot, hope it will return soon.

I wonder what happened to the FTP?
Thank you for the zine info.

>I wonder what happened to the FTP?
I have no idea. I can connect to the machine using http so it is up.

We need a new server.

>European night
damn them all to hell, what else are you europeans doing other than bumping?

Still being awake and reading, learning, reasearching.

Or out having a drink

Damn thats fucking /cyb/ as hell

>finally checking out some of the links after threads and threads of not doing so
>hit a cache of right wing links
huh, interesting

really? time frame? and why?

it's a link in OP i hadn't checked out yet.
you start with cool mirrors and links and shit, and then it makes a hard right as you scroll down the page.

I don't see anything hard right in there

weird might as well blame /cyb/

well ok then
not blaming anyone, still some good stuff in the page, so i'm checking those out now

how do i register a domain name in a manner that best preserves my privacy?

there are serveries you can pay to do that for you

Don't forget to pay for the feature to not show your information, else your shit will get exposed forever.

njal.la + basic opsec should do the job

Sorry, I didn't know.
I'll remove them if you like, I want this general to remain partisan.
Where are they?

What about rsync to replace FTP?

Sorry, I didn't know.
I'll remove them if you like, I want this general to remain non-partisan.
Where are they?

don't remove it, some good resources there.
just took me by surprise was all, still going through some the links.

I'm curious now, which link?
I wonder if it is old pasta, or one I put in without vetting?

Use a lawyer as an intermediate.

That would be good too but where do we find a rsynch host?

It's in the old school hacker file, under "Forbidden Science & Suppressed Information"

At least I think that's what he's talking about

Holy fuck, how did I miss that!
I suppose it pays to vet the whole page and not just the top.
Lazy OP, sorry.

what said, but there is more when you get past the main page.

why switch to rsync?

Nah all good OP
I would have not expected that after reading the first few links either.

Just another valuable lesson in infosec/intel gathering

Better security implementation.

>Moving to flat
>New broadband won't be connected for a month
>Tethering on phone for now
>Want to crack wifi
>Laptop needed for work

Crazy idea, but could I set up a Raspberry Pi to stay at home and slowly collect packets and attempt to crack WPA? Or is it just going to take so long it's not worth it?

Researching, the Homehub 4 I'm detecting, unless they've changed the default password, will have a 10-digit hex value (0-9, a - f). This should help me focus my search, but naturally I would need to generate all possible iterations of that, then use that to crack the packets, correct?

Does that save me at all?

I should probably add a caveat in the OP next to that link, expressing that these aren't the opinions of the OP, Sup Forumspunk or Sup Forumssec.

the pi would be fine for packet collection but for cracking i am not sure

All files that were uploaded were uncontroversial. Currently it would not matter and the low security/transparency would mean less risk of CP.

Thanks, hopefully I can set up Kali to automatically start capturing once power is applied.

I've just looked, and there are 1,099,511,627,776 possibilities if there are 16 characters and password is 10 length. I get the feeling that that is not going to be done quickly....Just generating myself a password list will take a while.

This might be a fools errand :\

>61984740
protonvpn
cryptostorm
proxy.sh
nordvpn
don't get PIA

or you could ask but what's the fun in that

well exactly.I'm guessing a wifi password will have a maximum double repeat (i.e. two repeated characters, so i'll never get 10 as) that should help cut down on the number of passwords. After 5 minutes I had a 8Gb file and the first section was all permutations of 8 or 9 a's.

tehnoetic.com/tehnoetic-s3-phone-replicant

to update this, looks like crunch is able to limit the repeated characters to any number you like. I limited it to two, but that still generated every password starting:
aabaabaabaa

I guess there's a limit to what you can do though. It's something. I'll just set the pi up to collect handshakes as much as it can.

Mullvad.

Pic.

Fairly open and plain Linux, too old to be loaded to the hilt with back doors.

Comfy.

>PIA.
Seconded

down your drink

OP, how about the image collection for pasta?

>Cyberpunk Scenery
imgur.com/a/xMi2Q

>Cyberpunk Rooms
imgur.com/a/GmKjW

It was on the FTP site but that is still down.

That's a nice set of pictures, need those on rotation as a desktop background.

I don't remember exactly where I got them, all I remember is it was from a mega in an earlier thread.
Anyway, thank you for these to add to the rotation, I was starting to run out of decent material.

very lowkey thread this one, someone do something cyberpunk-y

Okay brb let me shove a magnet up my ass so I can feel the toilet EM.

We're just chill bruh, take a hit from the peace pipe and pass it along.

Filling just fell out, filling it in with solder.

which programming languages should a guy with primary interest in cyber sec and a secondary intrest in operational systems, mainly gnu/linux? (not exactly OS programming, mostly 'exploring' them)

the ones I can think of are C, obviously because OSes, and maybe python for cybersec? also, is it even worth me to put in the time to read SICP, since I am not that interested in programming in a more CS'ish manner?

Starting intro to networking classes on Monday because I've always wanted to get into cybersecurity I'm decent at coding and know plenty about computers but I know next to nothing about networks. Anyone else who's taken these classes have any tips? What should I expect?

focus on C (and C++ if you're interested in modern malware) and python. don't waste time on SICP.

thanks

This.

Is it possible to still use bitcoin anonymously? Seems like all the big exchanges require ID, so if a fed really wanted to they could trace a transaction back to the exchange and then make them handover the data. Monero and Verge are great and all, but no one accepts them for payment.

Don't use exchanges and tumble your coins.

damn I'd either look like a grandpa or like I teleported from 2005

>Don't use exchanges
how do i get coins then

Trade gift cards for BTC.

Also don't use the same account all the time and use normal IP obfuscation methods.

This European lull in bumps is deadly to a thread longevity.

where? asking for a friend

...

What about perl?

If you've got Python in your toolbox, you shouldn't need Perl, unless you want to go out of your way to learn it.

Has that guy from hackers got a fucking toothbrush

perl is good many things are written in perl but learn it for it scripting capabilities and string manipulation

Did you try looking in the main site user? I think it's a repository.
I'd also recommend The Undiscovered Country zine. It was hosted on anus.com, and you can probably dig it up with a wayback machine.
I'd look for anything involving Brett Stevens / Vijay Prozak / Spinoza Ray Prozak
Guy was ahead of the curve.
