Linux noob begging for help thread

Linux noob begging for help thread.
I want the pretty graphs from the xfce4 hwmonitor plugin.

Anyone know what I should do with this?

git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin/tree/1.5.0/xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin_1.5.0-1_amd64.deb?h=omegaphil/pkg

I right click on xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin_1.5.0-1_amd64.deb
Save link as...

Other urls found in this thread:

git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin/tree/?h=omegaphil/pkg

>dpkg -i xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin_1.5.0-1_amd64.deb
dpkg-deb: error: 'xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin_1.5.0-1_amd64.deb' is not a debian format archive

Some googling suggests I may have a corrupted download, anyone willing to d/l it & confirm md5 for me.

Thanks for any help Sup Forumsuys

install arch or if you have trouble with that, gentoo

>apt install xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin_1.5.0-1_amd64.deb

Okay... so I found an old version of the file I downloaded several months ago, different md5... it was recognised and installed correctly...

Does anyone know how I'm supposed to be downloading this file from here git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin/tree/?h=omegaphil/pkg
1.5.0
amd64 version
I've probably made some pretty basic mistake

README.md suggests

>To download a file, click on the filename, then click View Raw. **DO NOT**
right click on a link, as this will save the web page, not the file.

I think I've done that because my downloads were 1.5MB, the working version was 200kB. Any hints on how to download it properly?

Aaaaaaaand I solve my own thread...

Right click root/1.5.0/xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin_1.5.0-1_amd64.deb and you download a 1.5MB webpage.

Right click "plain"
blob: 183b99566c7e025fcca025cc61e64957d816b4eb (plain)
and you download a valid .deb file.

This is now an electrocution thread

Technology's dangerous guys, I want the last two hours of my life back

It you would just have used Arch...

...

how the fuck does this even happen? are they playing around with live wires or what? can some electrician fag explain plz?

If you touch live wires, they shock you.

Aren't they supposed to wear wood isolated boots or something?

it hardly get any more obvious that they're in some shit country with no safety standards

I grew up in a shithole in the middle east and i thought it was common sense to use wood boots when dealing with live wires.
the retards in your previous posts have earned their Darwin's award with honor.
