Speakers are better than Headphones

You literally cannot dispute this

I don't think anybody does

Headphones have the added functionality of not broadcasting your media to everybody. Not sharing your private stuff is generally high up people's lists on Sup Forums. Headphones having this extra feature means they're better.

>Not sharing your private stuff is generally high up people's lists on Sup Forums.

That is because Sup Forums is fulled with tinfoil hat NEET trash. Their opinions mean nothing. Also, extra features does not automatically mean better. If you seriously think that, I can sell you a pair of headphones with dogshit on them. It has the extra feature of smelling terrible. It is perfect for a cuck like you.

Point is, assess your needs and do not take advice from edgelord 13 year olds on this site.

>That is because Sup Forums is fulled with tinfoil hat NEET trash. Their opinions mean nothing.
I don't see why you'd ask Sup Forums then, or look at opinions from Sup Forums.

>Also, extra features does not automatically mean better. If you seriously think that, I can sell you a pair of headphones with dogshit on them. It has the extra feature of smelling terrible.
Obviously I implied "positive" features. No reason to believe privacy is a negative feature like dogshit.

>I don't see why you'd ask Sup Forums then, or look at opinions from Sup Forums.
I am not OP.

You need to decide what you need (headphones, speakers, etc.) on a case by case basis.

this I don't want to disturb my neighbors by blasting chinese animated porn at 3am.

>I am not OP.
I knew that. So? My statement still stands.

Different tools for different use cases.

I dont always want to use speakers and I dont always want to use headphones.

I have 5" powered studio monitors for when I want to listen to things on speakers, and AKG K712 headphones for when I want to use headphones.

Speakers have a lot poorer bass and you basically feel it with your feet and guts instead of your ears. It's no wonder that professional recording is typically done with headphones.

Sup Forums likes headphones because Sup Forums lives with their mom, and they don't want mom to hear their hentai and weird music
Get some Chad monitors and leave the door open while you watch bukkake

>I knew that.
Then, why did you say I was asking something? There was not even a single question mark in my post.

>Then, why did you say I was asking something?
I didn't. I said "would" not "did" or "was". Besides, the second part was more related to you, the first was a general "you" directed at the thread which you're in.

I monitor my keyboards using headphones and speakers, and I gotta say, I've had a lot better success with headphones when it comes to monitoring a musical instrument for personal practice or pleasure.
Its super fucking hard to get speakers to sound "right", especially when the sound is objectively comparable to a real world example like an acoustic piano

piano's sound right on my monitor headphones, piano's sound wrong on 90% of speakers I've run them through. I think half the problem is speaker placement, there is no way to place speakers that will effectively mimic the soundboard of the instrument in question, but headphones do a good job of isolating the sound to the around the ear area. it more closely mimics real world conditions

only cucks who live with their parents use headphones

Headphones usually have a better soundstage than a 2.1 setup, even some surround setups.

Good headphones usually have more detail than good speakers.

Subwoofers beat headphones in the low frequency department.

I have spent enough on both to have a good experience either way.
Certain music is better with headphones, some music is better with speakers.

I hate headphones, they give me tinnitus and sometimes headache after a while, so I almost exclusively use speakers

You need to decide what you need on a case by case basis. Your words.

Meaning that neither is 'better', rather, one or the other is better depending on your intended use case. Checkmate, atheist.

yes, hs8s are the best speakers. im considering getting the matching sub but idk, my rooms kinda small

This is shit thread, but you are also fucking retarded and clueless on so many levels it's sad.

This is the biggest lie ever unless you're the shitiest engineer ever. Not to mention of mixing is done on headphones open back is the best because closed headphones hype up bass to unrealistic levels because there's no way for it the frequencies to escape. Nobody mixes on headphones

If you don't have acoustic panels, headphones are better.

You are fucking stupid and it's quite clear you have never actually owned anything of value.
In perfect environment speakers will always be better than headphones. High end speakers in properly audio treated room will always sound better in every way that headphones, even ones that cost tens of thousands of $.
But all of this doesn't mean shit, because both headphones and speakers have their uses, headphones are cheaper, provide privacy, doesn't distract other people and don't require you to rearrange your whole fucking room for them to not sound like shit. That alone makes headphones better for 90% of people.
Fuck, I hate neo-Sup Forums. Why are people who know basically nothing on subject always the most vocal to discuss it.

>Why are people who know basically nothing on subject always the most vocal to discuss it.
Well, you're more vocal that the person you're responding to.

You're retarded. The size of a headphone speaker can't push out the same output as monitors. Stop buying shitty speakers and buy monitors. Of course woofers handle low end better its what they do. You need a lot of energy to produce frequencies that low. You've not spent enough time because you're not an engineer and chances are you don't have monitor quality headphones and still listen to mp3s

But I also know what I'm talking about, as opposed to other guy.

So many no life's arguing ITT. How has no one pointed out the single most beneficial side to speakers yet? EVERYONE CAN HEAR. you can play music when you have friends over instead of crying over muh precision and clarity alone in your room. With speakers you can watch shows and movies WITH PEOPLE, and everyone can hear. Reeeeee you are all autists.

I'm just saying, according to you, you're the one who basically knows nothing on the subject.

Headphones have the worst spatial Spread the calibrated speakers. How can they be .1 when when speakers can't even drive frequencies that low

why so angry??? did daddy jerome not give your balls a good rub today??

I just got some LSR305s like Sup Forums recommended and I'm pretty impressed. I didn't know this was a thing: if I point the speakers toward me it sounds like the music is coming from in front of me instead of out of two speakers on either side of me. It's weird.

The thing is I don't get how headphones can't theoretically be just as good or better. Having a direct line to the organs that will absorb the sound sounds like it should be more effective and have less of a chance of interference.

>you basically feel it with your feet and guts
Isn't this arguably a feature and not a bug? I mean obviously I would also want to hear it with my ears as well but I thought feeling sound as opposed to just hearing it increases its overall impact.

I guess you got me there. I don't usually post in cesspool threads like this one, where clueless people compare apples to oranges, but sometimes tech illiteracy and stupidity around here makes me want to tell people how fucking retarded they are.
Either way I'm out and hope this thread dies fast.

Low quality bait

Your normie friends can't tell the difference between free speakers found on the curb and a $10,000 set up

So who cares

Well then how come I got two (you)s

So is having no friends the requirement of being an audiophile? My main point was just its crazy that not one person mentioned the fact that multiple people can hear speakers as a pro, not one.

Speakers all the way. Fuck headphone cables. I like actually feeling the bass too.
I also like being able to move around my room and reach for shit while listening to music or watching movies. The last time I had a pair of headphones it was just a huge nuisance. And my ears get hot.

Literally virgin headphones vs chad blasters

It's such a non-feature that can be achieved by just using the monitor's/TV's speakers.

>also like being able to move around my room and reach for shit while listening to music or watching movies
This is why I prefer coiled cables.

Subwoofer + headphones master race reporting in

OP is right!
But OP is also a dumb homosex nigger

This guy gets it

I'd want exactly that

Thankfully not everyone is an asshole neighbour

Binaural ASMR doesn't really work with speakers.

it does with well placed good ones.

By placing them next to your ears?

Good headphones are cheaper than good speakers.

Who cares anyways, did you just roll out of bed today looking to rile up some nerds? Judging by these responses I guess you succeeded.

Sup Forums loves headphones because they're all autist weebs who live with their parents

you could do that ala horn loaded (rip) or just use near fields. it will still be better on headphones but the experience isnt lost on proper set ups. you just need to reduce the sound stage

Talking strictly quality wise speakers are better for dat bass with sub woffer due to membrane size and have an actual soundstage.

Headphones are better at detail retrieval especially at high frequencies due to lower distortion and the fact that high frequencies dissipate faster in the air, before any smart ass will start to argue with me audio engineers use headphones instead of speakers for final stage mastering on purpose.

>Speakers are better than Headphones
>it will still be better on headphones
Checkmate.
