Alright guys, (I'm a senior and got held back a year so don't go screeching "UNDERAGE B&!!") So my high school basicly got a 1 million dollar grant, and they bought Macbook air's for the whole school. Sounds great right? well obviously they wouldn't just give you a free Macbook. There are restrictions, as to be expected. Now the software that they're using is called "FileWave". I did some quick research into it, the tl;dr is it's a very well updated monitoring program that a lot of employers/ schools use. So I thought I'd start a thread to maybe get some help as well as helping other anons in the process.

I don't get what you need. You need to hack this software to stop monitoring you? Or you want to know more information regarding that software?

Ideally obviously it'd be nice to find a premade crack, but I feel that's sorta asking for too much so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I probably should've worded it differently "grant" was the wrong word this guy donated 1 million dollars to the school and we get too keep them after we graduate, on top of that to restrictions are interfering with basic tasks such as moving items of the desktop. Do you have administrator rights? Root access? Just stop the thing from running on startup.

As somebody who has worked in the trenches of EduIT, please don't mess with it. They install this shit for a whole host of reasons beyond your knowledge, including legal ones. If you are really concerned about it, email your IT department and ask what they will and won't allow. If they leave EFI unlocked you can always install another copy of macOS for personal use (and FileVault it) or put wangblows or loonix on it. Just leave the imaged partition alone.
