Who here Oreo
Who here Oreo
Installed yesterday, loving it so far except how it displays your files when you go to post an image. I like that it includes downloads, pics, and screenshots but I don't like that it uses a list format with tiny thumbnails.
When does it come out for lineage?
Is there a dark theme for the settings menu? Hate these fucking blinding white menus.
Change the launcher probably, there's an invert colors option but it flips every color evetwhere
inverted colors somehow don't show up in screenshots apparently.
Tap that
I know, it doesn't remember it so you have to do it every time. Just a minor inconvenience.
Damn, lucky bastards. Nexus 5X here, it should come in a few days, right?
Nexus 6P Here
You can flash it now if you have Bootloader unlocked.
I'm on dev preview 4 because they yanked the OTA before I could download it. Something about failed installs and bugs. OTA I'd guess should be re-released within a week.
What does it do differently? I've honestly stopped caring about updates.
Android major versions are pretty much like Firefox major versions now.
I wonder if they will just kill android when they get to Z.
Any hope for nexus 6?
Not me. I'm done with Google and Android (not because of their HR debacle -- more to do with what they did regarding AOSP and then also dropping Nexus).
None, Google sucks now.
I'll never be on Oreo because I fell for the Zuk Z2 Pro meme (6GB of ram and 128GB of storage for 300) and I had to root my phone and install 7 manually, still on December 2016 security patch
should've got a xiaomi, as far as chink phones they are decent for lineageos support. zuk is just some literally who brand.
>got a gold Nexus 6P for $400 with 128gb
>flashed 8 already
sucks to suck
>810
>3h sot
sucks to suck indeed.
Still using a note 2 so nope.
>all white
Looks disgusting.
>tfw my 6p has the fucked battery issue and dies in an hour
Had only 5 hours SOT though so whatever.
Got a OP 3t and it's much better but chink version doesnt have data anymore after tmo upgraded their towers here,so just ordered a moto x play
5x here, fresh off beta
End of the line for this piece of shit
Posting from 2012, anything you'd like to warn me about the future?
>project trebel
>multi screen support via hdmi/usbc/kdeconnect/ect
>vulkan gpu support
dual partition scheme here i comeeee!!!
Android: Oreo
Project: Treble!
My cousin has a 6p. Will it actually get a OTA update?
phones will only have official support for Oreo if they support vulkan
this is a OEM issue and not googles.
Oreo can still use opengl and community ROMs will be possible
Why are we allowing phone companies to rape us in the ass?
Phones cost a lof of money, as much as laptops and yet you can't install shit on 8 core older ones. WTF.
its the OEMs fault
look at project trebel
google went to the OEMS and forced them to abide by a new standard if they wanted to support android 8 and onwards
before this OEMs just shipped binary drivers and androids source had to be made to work with that individual hardware slowing updates
this will streamline the update process and reduce work for google
basical chip manufacturers and OEMs were being greedy fucks and google never had the leverage to tell them off
the pixel has treble already built in btw
this explains trebel.
the chip manufacturers now have to follow a standard or API so that android doesnt need to target every individual hardware in every phone(which varies greatly) and instead it works across multiple devices because the chip makers are actually trying to make now
There should be a strog consumer lobby and at least us "smart buyers" shouldn't give our hard earned cash to dishonest manufacturers.
It's a lot of money capable of making an impact if we come together.
>Oreo
>white inside
OS for uncletoms?
No hope for retards like you. Nexus 6 is shit.
>what is a custom ROM
My Moto G 2013 is getting 8.0 Oreo
Yes
Share the pepes
Not a problem with LineageOS.
Is there a phone brand that will actually guarantee continuous Android updates? My Huawei is stuck on Lollipop.
Maybe in a month or so. Not kidding
You could show me a picture of Oreo without telling me which version it was, and I would say Lollipop.
Google.
Apple iPhone 5S would be on its sixth year of official support soon, meanwhile lagdroid makers literally forgets their phones exist after a year.
This.
I actually bought mine refurbished from ebay. I was skeptical at first but it was factory sealed.
My battery life is okay. I mean it could be better. But i'm pretty much constantly listening to music and using Maps so that probably contributes to my low battery issue. Although, when I don't have anywhere to go and it just sits on my desk for texting and what not, I have like 40% left when i go to bed (about 16 hours after unplug). That was on 7.1.2. Haven't had a chance to really play with oreo yet.
Have you tried replacing the battery? Assuming you can find a decent one.
Phone companies have done this shit forever and yet you continue to buy phones through the phone companies.
Whose fault is it really?
False.
>you will never again feel the same excitement for a major android update like with Eclair or ICS
Oree-oree-ohhh
Ohhhh-oh
