is this the holy trinity of GNU+Linux distributions?
Is this the holy trinity of GNU+Linux distributions?
The holy trinity is actually Gentoo, Gentoo and Gentoo
>parabola
>not arch
>not wanting GNU/Linux-libre
if anything stallman would prefer Parabola over the other two because it has GNU in the name and is libre
thank me later
>colors not even close to matching
try again
>brokensuse
>"a reasonably shitty meme OS"
b8/10
take that back
the anime is redditcore anyways
sure whatever you say
>brokensuse
Can you elaborate on that? I am about to install Tumbleweed.
>hating on reddit
It's 2017 reddit hate was cool in maybe 2013
I've been using Tumbleweed for over a year now, moving from Leap before that
never had any issues except once when I was fucking around and broke everything
its been very reliable for me, which is great because this is my only computer atm since I'm living abroad
Replace Parebola with Arch
>instead of parabola let's use parabola+botnet
Debian also has GNU on its name and if you don't enable the non-free repo it is completely libre.
what about linux-firmware-nonfree?
You don't have to install that if you don't want to. It's specifically not included in the official install discs or the repos. You have to enable non-free repos to download it or use an unofficial install disc where that firmware is included.
It's on Stallman's recommendations list.
>reaction image of stallman while saying the opposite of his opinion
Does Parabola use systemd?
>parabola
Replace that fedora
It does.
Fedora is not that great of a distro: slow package manager, updates that sometimes break the system and you have to beta-test every Red Hat shit like pulseaudio, systemd, etc.
why did you remove gentoo
those are the only three distros I use
I transcended into a meme like state
>updates that sometimes break the system
This. It's trash. A regular update has critically broke the system before
It's beta testing for RH, and why the hell would you want to do that when Debian exists?
How do you fix a fucked Tumbleweed ? I know that you can do snapshot but what you do when it don't boot anymore ?
>not using PHP exclusively
You can restore snapshots without booting. Use a livecd
>Vigne
>not Void
No
>slackware
>isn't gabriel
>debian
>dumb
You should use ubuntu.
with chroot ?
Do i need an opensuse live cd or i can do it with any other distro ?
good thread
A holy trinity for Linux cannot include systemd, so Debian is out. Might I suggest, in order of easyness: PCLinuxOS, Gentoo and Linux From Scratch?
It's ironically cool now though. Anyway, fuck off to reddit.
>Gentoo
>Slackware
>Source Mage
KDE vs XFCE??? Which is the best technically wise? Ive XFCE has lots of tearing?
KDE has more feature, that's why we call it bloated
>62069166
gross
> is this the holy trinity of GNU+Linux distributions?
Debian ubuntu rhel
Does Jessie use systemd?
this
No chroot. Essentially any livecd with btrfs. Snapshots are just subvolumes and are mountable as such. Then you can do a partial or full roll back to changes of the root volume.
wow that's nice ty
>no sourcemage
Pleb list.
Opensuse Leap
Opensuse Tumbleweed
Suse Linux entreprise
LFS is not a distro. its the process used to make a distro.
yup, but there is a final solution to holocaust systemd from jessie found here:
