Welcome to capitalism, you are welcome.
meanwhile everyone uses facebook since like 2010 and it just works
yes and BSFree is used more than VLC ,mpv,mpc-hc. Even though it is trash.
We call idiots who use shit like that normies.
The fuck is BSFree? Everyone I know uses VLC.
Facebook is for old people.
Also known as BS.player

Working at a computer repair shop for a while you have no idea how many PCs use this malware trash
Eh, WhatsApp is really where it's at these days.
I use Wire. No phone number required, E2E encrypted, open source everything, desktop app on Mac, Windows, and Linux, phone app on android/ios, and, coming soon, the ability to host on your own server. Also, it's easy to join, looks nice, and has normie features like emojis.
Same. Although I'd like it if it had text bubbles. I'm too spoiled because that's how Facebook messenger looks and honestly it makes looking at messages easier.
Plus, the desktop version has a bloated UI. Too much space is wasted on the contacts tab which is constantly open.
I'll still use it because it works fine, it's just that it's interface could be better.
And normies : ^)
lel it's a driveby for porn sites
Tox and matrix are the only possible futures. But tox still has problems on its core and matrix still lacks software.
Jabber is old and the other 2 are or can become botnets at any moment.
And yeah i could just be sarcastic and do what you did with the gazillion proprietary protocols.
I hate bubbles. The fact that it didn't have those is probably what kept me there.
>Wire
what's the catch?
None that I can see. They are seeking monetization from business-specialty features that will cost premium, ala Skype Business.
Used to not work on fandroid. That's changed.
Server used to be closed source. That's changed.
It's Electron-based on desktop (so that might be a catch, depending on your opinion of Electron).
It was audited, and the white papers pointed out problems. Since then, they have all been addressed (except for hosting on your own server as a means of decentralizing it, which is in progress at the moment).
They are also based in Switzerland, so out of US Jurisdiction, unlike Signal, Wickr, and WhatsApp. Also out of EU jurisdiction.

Use WhatsApp because there's no point in a communication app if you have no one to communicate to
I have my 3 closest friends, my wife, my sister, both my parents, and my 10 out of 12 of my coworkers using it. The last two won't because "iMessage is secure enough for me."
>he isn't dominant
I use wire because I can get people to use it
I've never used WhatsApp, what is even the point of it. My friends used to use facebook chat but now we use Discrod. I try to get them to use IRC but they don't want to. I'm going to try to get my other friends to use Signal.
Unfortunately the most important part of a communication platform is who is using it, it's pointless to use some secure thing but not talk to anyone on it.
>***tips****
>meme used by cucks
Yup, sounds about right.
>Facebook is for old people.
I dont know how this works and why the young people keep saying that.
Literally every other shitty app they use requires a facebook account to use that shitty fuckin app. I hope they all kill themselfs soon.
There's a very large population of university kids on fb, with these dumb "meme collectives" and university-specific meme groups. Especially top universities like UC Berkeley. The reason Facebook looks like its for old people is because you only follow your mom and dad's activity ;)
Obsidian will soon replace all of those.
Facebook looks like its for old people for literally anyone not actively in college.
