What file Explorer does Sup Forumsuse?

Amaze

This

Amaze
ES is malware

Solid Explorer. Used Amaze and Cabinet before.

Nautilus, Nemo, Dolphin, Ranger.

Solid Explorer Premium with the FTP module so I can connect to my server

ES is malware.

ls, cd, grep and find :^)

Total commander.

midnight commander

this

This. Its dirt cheap and far better than any other crap.

ES Pro
No malware

Amaze. Used to use the pre chink version of ES; also re signed it so Google would Soto trying to update it.

fuck off chink. America needs to collect user data too. Go spy on your own people commie! You have enough of them. At least when they're not too busy getting run over by a truck and ignored, or stalking dogs/cats to eat.
>dirt cheap
What kills me is I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that there are people on Sup Forums would would still pirate Solid Explorer or any app for that matter. One time $2-$4 for an app you'll use every single day is still too much for some

UC Explorer

>there are people on Sup Forums would would still pirate Solid Explorer or any app for that matter
that's me ;^)

Dir

MiXplorer

>tfw want to pay for quality apps
>tfw don't want to give google my bank details

jus werks

i generally use a terminal though. only use files for like GVfs mounting stuff.

Amaze File Manager
its a bit buggy but i like

MiXplorer

this

>paying for ones and zeros.

Dired in Emacs.

i use es explorer pro which i bought with someone google points back then. It's a good file manager and like how it comes with alot of cool features like encryption or selecting all files and renaming them all at once

This on winigger
This on Gentoo

FX Plus masterrace reportin

Total commander is being used at my work

I fucking hate that pos.

At least one can always run a Linux vm

Es explorer pro

I use my phone's file manager

x-plore file manager

Solid explorer

Total Commander

norton commander

X-plore; MK explorer, simple and clean is the way that it's making me feel

FX File Explorer

Total Commander on windows and Total Commander on Android. Best of both worlds, baby

/thread

Explorer.exe
Lineage file manager
nautilus

The simple mobile tools one on android.

Worker and/or Midnight Commander

The one bundled with my phone, File Commander
Its surprisingly decent

I paid for Solid Explorer.
I can't stand ads and the thing is well designed.

>buying a file manager

>Amaze

Does it support FTP or SSH?

Really basic one that's just called File Manager that i found on fdroid.

thunar

It can host an FTP connection, probably not join it. I haven't found a file manager that isn't shit and can join FTP.

How is this different/better than ranger?

bonus: tree

Love it

Thanks user.

>Being poor

FX

provides clean interface, you don't have to fumble around to get shit done.

you'll love this if you like material design. and if not you can customize to whatever you want.

also, buy the premium, don't be a poorfag.

this on android

is there a file manager on linux that can:
>read metadata in music files
i need to sort files by author for example
>the recycle has the column or original path of the deleted file
>remember the type of visualisation
i want icon for some folders with images but usually i use the list for everything else
>with single left click of mouse rename a file instead of F2

i'm using thunar but it's very disappointing

>that isn't shit and can join FTP.
Mixplorer supports FTP and SFTP and it works well.

Amaze looks great and has a ton of functions, but crashes contantly on my note 5. No idea why, only app that does that.

Solid Explorer handles all types of connections just fine.

It does that on Samsung devices for some reason. It runs fine on galaxy s5 but crashes sometimes when extracting apps, and sometimes just randomly. Though this happens rarely. It crashes even more on S6.
It would be much better if it had proper crash logs.

>depends on GSF
>in app purchases
>not open source
No thanks desu.

>
>>depends on GSF
I'm guessing GSF is Google services something or another
>>in app purchases
Yea. To buy the pro version of the app. $2-$3 one time.
>>not open source
Ah. Never mind then. You're not really looking for the best solution. You're looking for something that almost meets your needs, but not quite, that also respects your freedumbs I assume.
>No thanks desu.

I wish you luck in your search then user.

>uses an open source OS
>choses a proprietary app for it's basic functionality
Might as well buy a web browser then

>Basic functionality

Android ships with a regular file browser. I simply choose to pay for a better one. One that also supports connecting to various types of servers. And regardless of paid for or not, someone or someone(s) had to design the file browser you're using. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is a dev willing to work for free.

As for closed bs open source, I can see the allure. But 9 times out of 10, the FOSS app is usually sub par compared to the proprietary one. Clover being the exception.

Do you want software freedom or open source?

old copy of ES with updates turned off

caja

DOS: Norton Commander
Windows 3.11: Windows Commander
Windows 95-7: Total Commander
Loonix: Midnight Commander
fagOS: muCommander
Android: Total Commander

Ranger

>foss is usually sub par
What is browsers, Linux, media players, Android, obs, desktop environments, torrent clients, Gparted, GCC, IDEs, 7zip...

MiExplorer is the only right answer

Amaze on Goolags phone
Caja or cd cd .. code on PC
Midnight Commander is also nice.

Still can't understand why ranger is so hyped. It's shit as a GUI file menager and also have no purpose when MC exist.

For mobile? I just use the one that comes with Lineage

Not even the full list

/bin/bash

Didn't this one include malware or some shit

X-Plore is one of the best., nothing else matters.

Latest ones do, older ones don't. The last "good, clean, halal/kosher" version is 3.2.5.5 - it all went to shit exactly right after that one.

fpbp

>ES is malware
Not if it's an older build (~3.2.5.5, everything that's beyond that IS a confirmed malware, but 3.2.5.5 exactly AND other older than it are fine).

Default everywhere (on android - whatever comes with lineageos).

How do you know that older versions are fine if you don't have their source code to check it?

Nemo

CM/LOS default file manager

write your own

solid explorer is the best but no one use it because everyone is too poor to pay a paid license here

The best.

>using the smiley with a carat nose

>excellent file sharing features
>built-in text editor
>opens almost all archive formats
>actually looks good

You can pirate it, but there is no reason to do so because MiXplorer is objectively better and also completely free.

there are no other good file managers for poodroid
