How does Sup Forums clean thermal paste off a CPU?
alcohol and cotton balls+swabs
If it's significantly caked on like was the case with Xbox 360's then I also incorporate a wet wooden toothpick and GENTLE force.
Put it in the sink
...
Credit card & rub dry with paper towel.
I just buy new computer every year because I'm not poor.
i lick it off
nail polish remover and coffee filters (doesnt leave residue)
With fire.
Dismount heatsink and cpu from mobo, dump it in a bowl of isopropyl alcohol, let it sit for half an hour, then they just pop apart. Make sure the pins are face up, though. Now just get a paper towel and rub off the rest, let it dry, and voila
Isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.
put cum in processor. set it on fire
>microfiber cloth
niBBa stop doing that shit if you know what's good for you

Currently using arctic cooling mx-4 paste, it's supposed to last 8 years but ehh.
What's the most recommended thermal paste atm?
>inb4 cum
rubbing lcohol coffee filter
Ceramic? Noctua NT-H1 and Thermalright Chill Factor 3 are the best.
Wet a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol and poke the thermal paste. Give up, wet a tissue and scrape that shit off. Then wet a microfibre cloth and finish it off.
Draw a swatsika with the thermal paste and put the heat sink back on. Fuck up while trying to secure the heat sink on it's awkward mount and repeat the entire process.
>Fuck up while trying to secure the heat sink on it's awkward mount and repeat the entire process.
Are you me?
Don't fall for thermal paste jews. MX-4 is good enough for all your needs, unless you plan to open youtube channel and become """professional overclocker""".
There is literally nothing wrong with using microfiber.
I live in EU and it isn't uncommon at all.
>I live in EU and it isn't uncommon at all.
Last time I bought isopropyl, I had to go to a pharmacy so they could place an order for it. They even asked me what it was for.
Last time I needed to, isopropyl alcohol and a eye makeup applicator foam Q-tip. Did the job.
Toilet paper.
I don't need to clean it because my CPU just eat the thermal paste.
what kinda cuck ass country are you living in? I don't see anything about restrictions in any english google results.
You sure it was isopropyl and not something else?
>To last 8 years
Soviet KPT8 can work in sound amplifiers for like 30-40 years and still not fried.
Moreover, if you have found 40 years old can of paste in grandpa's garage - you can even apply it to a modern CPU, it still perform on acceptable level - like Arctic MX2.
Wtf how
>pic or gtfo
> not having liquid nitrogen cooling
Kys
If you're bored and don't have aluminium heatsinks, you can try liquid metal.
I'll check out the price difference on these, thank you!
I don't think that is available here but this is an interesting piece of information
I use an hyper212 iirc, a part is aluminum so I'd rather not
The edge of a flathead screwdriver for larger globs and them a microfiber cloth dipped in whiskey.
These, cost feck all and do the job.
dish washer.
This is a good idea
With a balloon
I lick it off
tongue
Toilet paper, works like a charm
Any other method is autism, or you have way too much time on your hands
>clean GPU die with paper towel and isopropyl alcohol
>leave fibers all over the mirror like black die
>spend next 10 minutes trying to get rid of them
>His PC doesn't have a tube to put thermal paste down like oil for a car
Am I the only one that uses q-tips? Its easier to control the hardened paste without it going everywhere.
Nail polish remover = acetone
iso+kitchen paper towel
or substitute iso for methylated spirits
and or substitute kitchen paper towel for toilet paper
with other shit that probably won't evaporate. Also at least here they switched to ethyl acetate as main ingredient. Should still work though
Never used alcohol, never had that problem
Groom your technique, noob
