What would you do?

So I found this today in an unlocked hallway.

Not worth the work to carry them out.

Start mining right there. Also using their power

Jamal please don't

look inside and see if they are just cases or real computers. If they are real computers take them all and string them together into a super computer.

see if you can fine a bunch of graphics cards and mine buttcoin

>Pentium 4
Distribute them along the building and turn them on in winter.

Hi, i'm friendly Sup Forums user from Europe.
Assuming you are in America, you can start an 'internet cafe' and charge hobos 5$/hr so they can watch internet porn.

I wonder if they properly shredded the HDDs.

Bowling

OP again

That's not a half bad idea.

>BTX cases

INTO THE TRASH IT FUCKING GOES RIGHT THE FUCK NOW

This.
There's literally no fucking use of these despite maybe using the HDDs for copies of backups.

Eh. Not much.

I would probably take out the HDD's if they are sata and have more than 1TB of space.

>implying

>these have

>more than 1tb of space

>also reddit spacing

THIS

Have a P4 Server in my room to keep it warm, no joke.

Pentium 4s are plain space heaters.
Core2s provide twice as many computrons but are still pretty damn slow by today's standards. They also lack a bunch of newfangled SIMD widgets.
The step up from P4 to Core2 is bigger than from Core2 to Nehalem, or from Nehalem to Kaby Lake.

Just grab the heatsinks, the aluminium is likely worth more than the rest of the PC. Unless you have a recycling facility that shreds and melts PCBs down into copper and gold.

...

wouldn't a space heater be more effient in keeping you warm?

>usese an Altec Lansing subwoofer as a step stool
FUCKING DIE MOTHERFUCKER

they're like £10 a pop on eBay. I'd walk right past.

>...huh? ids jus old shid man de fug is wong wid u xDD
He doesn't look too bright to be honest

Can't really see well what model of Optiplex are in there but putting a Xeon E5450 in them if possible would be neat.

>walking past $800

It would, but it doesn't run Gentoo

I wish my space heater ran Gentoo

This. In the UK, especially London, Internet cafes are hugely profitable.

>This. In the UK, especially London, Internet cafes are hugely profitable.
That's because London is so cucked with mudslimes, and the terrorists have to use internet cafes so Jew Scotland Yard doesn't figure out that they are terrorists.

Also, Jew Scotland Yard is a bunch of faggits for letting little girls be gang raped by mudslimes.

No they're not. Most of them even have the old P4 HT logo. You know Dell used that case design for many years, right?

fpbp

these would only be worth stealing if you lived in Africa

Non Parkinson's picture of optiplex model number?

10 rubles deposited, Pavel. Smash the West.

Dont bother ive already reported you to campus police

Looks like there are 80 computers in that pile. With two cheapo 48 port switches and a more powerful control node, you could make a beowulf cluster. If this is at a school, you could claim to want to do it as an educational project and maybe get the school to supply electricity in the name of education. If they don't want to support your project you can shill for folding@home saying that you'll help cure AIDS but then use the cluster to mine BTC or ETH instead.

Spotted the intellectual cuckold. Dont you have a violent alt right rally to attend?

this

I could sell them at 50€ a piece in few IT shops around

1. Network them
2. Create a botnet
3. Name it Desu Desu Revolutions
4. ???
5. Profit

Take the ram and CPUs and sell it to recyclers

Nice drug rug.

>Dont you have a violent alt right rally to attend?
Found the faggit commie
Don't you have some nigger to get fucked in the ass by right now?

Those computers are for students Tyrone get back to mopping up the bathrooms.

Take a bunch and sell them on ebay
I did that back in high school. Made close to $1000

You could take those Optiplex 6200s and make a really cool fort out of them.

C R E A T E A B O T - N E T

Give them to charity

as powerful

also this

holly fucking shit that's a ton of computers

install gentoo
to all of them
one by one

>Not realizing that BTX is superior

They are obviously upgrading or have upgraded and these are just taking up space. you could ask if you could have one... or some.. or all of them if they only take up room.

Wow looks like heaven!

is that computer glued to the ceiling

Not worth the hassle stealing those.

I bought a bunch of core2duo machines way back, bought around 80 of them from some school. I paid around $8 a machine. most of them had Q6400 and Q6600's but they all only had 2GB ram and 80GB hard drives. I ended up taking the ram and hard drives out of half of them and packing them into the other half so 40 or so of them had 4gb ram and 2x80gb hard drive, resold them for $129 each then sold the other scrapped half motherboards and power supplies for small amounts. The cases I just took to scrap metal. I made a few thousand from that but that was a few years back, these days it's become increasingly difficult to move pre-sandy bridge hardware. I still have a bunch of opteron racks I've been unable to sell :/

Can I get one of the full black slot covers?

I'll pay for shipping, I've got a lighter shade of black from a supplier and it sucks

Yeah. So is the lamp and shit next to it.

Get every single one. I fucking love hording electronics, it's so satisfying.

you sure that thing wont start burning by itself?

wtf are you doing

>>Not realizing that BTX is superior

fucking troll

maybe all of them combined do

spbp

Burn them and scavenge the copper

All of those seem to have Windows XP stickers. Probably not worth taking unless you truly have no other computer.

are they free?

take all of them and recycle them.

I prefeer that he builds something with a server and offer virtual machines instead of actual physical equipment

>going to jail possibly over 800$

/thread

>just taking them
>not having the balls to ask the current caregiver of the computers (more than likely a mid-ranking IT guy or SysAdmin) if you can take one or all of them home
Cucked.

>the reason no one else has done this and gotten a FREE 800 dollarydoos is because op is literally the first one to ask
wew lad, cucks a bit big of a word for you isnt it?

>doesn't know how to avoid getting caught
You're supposed to slide 3 in your bookbag when no one's watching (you wouldn't be able to carry/have room for more)
Then you get a couple of friends and tell them to do the same thing
When the bell rings, just keep a straight face and walk out with them
Put them up on ebay when you get home

Is this the typical reactOS user?

That's RedoxOS FAG.

>Nehalem to Kaby Lake
Damn, x86 moves slowly these days.

so thats 27 trips at 3 computers per trip, and assuming your car can hold 10 computers at a time thats 10 car trips. now, lets assume thats 10 minutes to get each 3 computers, 5 minutes to get from the car and in, and steal them, then 5 minutes to get them out. so thats four and a half hours now of effort, and lets say 10 car trips, 14 minutes to drive 20 miles, 5 minutes to unload, 14 minutes to drive back, at about 14 bucks a trip in gas per average. thats now
4 and a half hours + another 2 hours and 30 odd minutes, so 7 hours total of effort, and based on the average of 60 cents per miles, 240 bucks. thats 80 bucks an hour doing it solo, assuming you really CAN get 800 bucks, or 10 bucks a pc, when you really gonna have to pay shipping, handling.

or you could split this between 4 friends and make 140 bucks and narrow it down to 2 hours worth of work. now, 800 bucks value to you is going to be higher value to this, so your earning 140-560 bucks for a days worth of work and be commiting grand theft, a felony in most states.

What would you do if your son was at home, cryin all night on the bedroom floor, 'cause he's hungry...and the only way to feed him is to...sleep with a man for a little bit of money, and Daddy's gone...we're smoking rock now, in and out of lockdown, I ain't got a job now...well for you this is just a good time, but for me this is what I call life

What are the specs? If it's C2Q with 8gigs of RAM, it's still usable for pretty much anything. I'm not sure how Dell mobos handle overclocking, I know HP is literal hitler when it comes to as much as replacing RAM. You can buy a bunch of used R9 280s from miners and re-sell them 200-300 bucks as ok gaming PCs.

The only one who's to blame is AMD, for still being "technically" the competitor to Intel's monopoly.

Take a good look at the front panels.

Awww shit man. I mean it could be 2GB DDR2 sticks, those are still somewhat valuable.

If there is a GPU inside of them, OP could also scavange a bunch of CRTs and host a massive open CoD2 lanparty, without worrying about shit being stolen.

We still use those at work and they do office shit just nice.

CPUs are Pentium D.

No. CPUs are Pentium 4. You dense pieces of shit can't understand that the same computer case can contain different fucking components.

usually those things have integrated gpus

Not it's from Australia

Pentium 4 and Pentium D co-existed at the same time, afaik the only difference being clock speeds and possibly cache size difference and HT support. There are clearly the Pentium D sticker on some of the OP's cases.

t. pentium 4 poster

literally not worth the energy to power it.

Really misses my cache

>cpu mining

that room would be very hot

how big is your fucking bookbag that you can fit a single tower in it let alone three

>cpu mining
>pentium 4 and D
all those computers would make you 2 cents a month and cost you 215$ to run

I believe you. 1st gen PS3's were also fabulous to raise the temps in a room.
>is that computer glued to the ceiling
wha
MY SIDES
Lets see. You can have "some" computational power enough to run a small server / firewall and a "low" performance heater or you can have a high performance heater with zero computational power
The answer should be obvious.

I had seen those computers in 2017 doing SOHO stuff at stingy gigs, or as servers running all kinds of services (accounting more often)
HA! you'd be surprised the shit that can be found inside those forgotten computers
Im not kidding, many HDD's from that time are better than the shit that we got now, specially if they are pre perpendicular recording.
Besides, The HDD's inside business class computers are somewhat reliable.
>Core2s provide twice as many computrons but are still pretty damn slow by today's standards
Depends on the use. I have a backup computer running on a T7200 and it can perform many tasks good enough.
>but then use the cluster to mine BTC or ETH instead.
Man. not even a double facepalm could express the extent of my disbelief.

Monero works great with CPU mining

i dont care how good your software is you'll never be able to compete with gpus

Rearrange them to block the hallway, not useful for anything else.

That may be true for BTC and ETH but not XMR

R E N D E R
F A R M

Seriously, I could use a power boost.
