All I know is the European keyboard sucks.
Why does that right option even exist? It is horrible by any standard. I have rejected laptops for the sole reason of having such a keyboard.
I've been looking for a decent keyboard with the "bigass" enter key, preferably with ANSI-like layout.
Any good stores in yuropoor union?
Like other keyboard standards: because IBM.
IBM shipped keyboards with the big L-shaped enter for some time so it became a de facto standard.
Superior
>attempt to type a blackslash or pipe
>hit enter
>try to capitalize a letter
>hit \
my enter is a Caps lock key
Doesn't sound that bad when considering how often i've accidentally hit backspace or enter on ansi layout keyboards. Always preferred ISO layout keyboards. You get an extra key too.
i never, not even once in my life hit the left / on the iso layout. Not only accidentally, but at all. Smaller l_shift works better on rubber domes though imo.
kek, even posted the wrong slash, proves how much i ignore the key.
Unless you're actually retarded, that never happens. Anyhow, you should give in to the ultimate layout: German ISO with LGBT lighting

>backlit 60%
where is it from, user?
Vortex POK3R RGB
You need differently sized keys to divide up the keyboard for touch typing.
Anyone who dislikes big enter buttons is a hunt and peck faggot
European layouts are horrible for programming/anything related. Brackets, etc. are behind Shift-8, AltGr-8 or some other retarded shit. One of my best decisions was to switch from Nordic layout to ANSI US. Thank you USA
This
>qwertz layout
>anything but shit
for { and } alone it should rot it hell.
neo2 is peak performance
A big enter doesn't mean you have to cripple the backspace key. You could move the backslash key next to right shift instead.
>that left shift
no thanks
ISO = recognized default industry standard across the world
ANSI = only America uses this shitty layout, exactly like their imperial unit system that no one besides them also use.
I wish Nixon would've actually gone through with the conversion to metric when he had the chance
if it's the default industry standard then why is it so awful
You can just switch your keymap. Do you need to look at your keyboard or something?
>thinking real hard about the question
>"god this is hard i like the larger enter but the people that have tiny niglet backspaces should off themselves"
>think about what i thought there for a second
>"oh my god.. i've been using this pussy ass backspace keyboard myself for multiple years now"
>hang self as i should
superior key shapes
>imperial
My house is 50 miles west from here.
>metric
My house is 8.04672 times 10 to the 4th power times the speed of light in a vacuum divided by 2.99792458 times 10 to the 8th power to the west from here.
you forgot the part where 1 mile is defined as 1 609.344 meters
A mile is 5280 feet, which converts to 1,609.344 meters, Ahmed. Metric just chooses to be confusing.
Keymap yes. You'd still have a shitty ISO layout instead of superior US ANSI
left
right is pig disgusting
hey I got that keyboard
Right.
I don't make mistakes.
Master Race
left for backspace, right for enter
This is the keyboard layout that Linux was written with, and the only keyboard layout that the first versions of Linux supported.
Spot the mistake
The bestest keyboard layout
Left. Why does this thread even exist?
there is nothing to choose. i don't buy keyboards or laptops without full sized backspace and enter keys.
>poison
left is objectively the best enter key.
You don't need some super tall key just to hit enter, and fuck having a tiny backspace or left shift key
an hero
Neither.
damn, that's sexy
neither
Bump.
Long delete master race.
Only proper layout
this
Have a (You).
You're obviously suicidal already because nobody took your bait.
I have top right and I hate it
>not getting used to your own keyboard layout
B-but my 6Gv2 has both a big ass enter and a large backspace. I'd rather have a proper ANSI layout, though. Having a single row enter is fine with me.
>ISO brain damage key added to fuck up the left shift key
No, it's shit. Proper ANSI is the best layout out there.
the extra key is a significant improvement
My house is 80km west from here.
Name one thing wrong with this layout.
It feels great to live in the middle of Europe and have the superior ANSI layout as a standard. ISO was a mistake.
We use it in Poland instead of having a retarded language specific layout
Also us iso is cancer, please stop making shitty standards noone wants k thx
>{}
Going from Eu layout to Us layout I experienced the opposite of these issues
> Attempt to hit enter
> Hit \ instead
> Try to type \ or |
> Nothing happens because I just tapped the shift key
I suppose it's all a matter of preference and what you're used to.
Personally I've found I'm enjoying the Us layout a lot more.
spaniard here
>'~' still hidden on '4'
it's shit
Left backspace + right enter
This. Best layout.
And then get used to the layout in a month and never do the same inaccurate bullshit.
ANSI with Numpad block can suck my dick and rot in hell for all I care. Only keyboards with full sized Enter and only TKL/65%.
mein neger
Neo2 is the pinnacle of layouts. You can type like 70% of the most common words without even moving your fingers from the home row.
Also the navigation layer. Layoutlets don't know what they are missing
I wish there was a keyboard layout with all the types of brackets on two keys.
Make your own layout.
>use alternative layout (neo) at work
>work on something together with CTO
>he tries to type something on my keyboard and notices I'm not using a standard layout
>super impressed
>he gets on the phone with CEO a few minutes afterwards to talk about something different entirely
>"did you know that user uses a different keyboard layout? I know right? Impressive how he tries to optimize his productivity"
>get renewal of contract and a over 10% raise a few weeks later
where were you when your autism helped you for once in your life?
got the same keyboard TKL blue switches this week, it's awesome.
