give me vulkan

i predict it will make watching video at least 20% more enjoyable

VULKAN™

I hope so.

newfag here, how often should I update?

>newfag here, how often should I update?
Every single day to help with the development.

How into often updates on Ubuntu? The only available PPA updates every 2 weeks or even less often.

Just use mpv-build to build from source.

Im very new to Linux. I think i wont be able to do it.

>These scripts are fragile (probably rather Debian's fault than ours).

>They only exist for users who want to hurt themselves.

What? Did you mean I will ejaculate 20% faster?

>github.com/igv/FSRCNN-TensorFlow/releases
The previous LQ release was too intensive for my toaster. :(
So I asked for a VLQ release but the LQ release was renamed VLQ. :(

>watching porn
Eww.
Just how weak your GPU is?

New release added 2ms to my timings. That's it. Not that severe.

Up to you. Many of us here keeping up with the development update often to test new features and ensure that changes don't break anything (and if they do inform the devs via git issues).

mpv builds very fast, atleast on Gentoo with muh Ryzen. I don't really notice much difference with git master compared to 0.26.0 desu
If you don't care, just use latest release version

What are the : MUST HAVE?

shit goes crazy

Only stats.lua

>t.Pentium 2

;^)

I second stats. I also use autoprofiles.lua to activate various profiles depending on video resolution.

Yowai.

ElegantMonkey is a legend!

how what?
It does work

how does it work without VP8 or VP9 dependencies?

Because they're baked into mpv.

thats the most useful shit I have ever seen in decades

What is the difference of just passing youtube link to mpv vs passing link with --ytdl flag in practical aspect?

mpv uses ffmpeg and claws in to that.

Does MPV play blurays?

I have tried with VLC but it is not good. It is easy to add the keys but playing is inconsistent, it sometimes works and sometimes takes some fiddling and ejecting and restarting to make it work.

>he doesn't know how to use code tags
lmao @ ur lyfe

I think you have to ensure that your ffmpeg is compiled with support for that stuff.

I'll have to look into that next week.

Lucky I'm familiar with ffmpeg. I've had to compile and force VLC support in Linux and Winshit before. Thank fuck for FOSS. :-))

Very good user. But it wont look good on everything.

I only watch anime on mpv.

I use no compositor. I also have FullPipeComposition *disabled* in the nvidia xorg.conf settings

All of the things I listed affect mpv. And mpv is basically a video game engine at this point..

>using hwdec
>using multimonitor

The only thing that affects mpv is OpenGL support and the proprietary Nvidia drivers have better OpenGL performance and support than the open source ones (in fact, it's another major reason the open source driver is so unpopular).

mpv builds in 10 seconds for me

it uses libvpx via libavcodec, part of FFmpeg (mpv dependency)

>than the open source ones
yeah because nvidia doesn't publish documentation for their shit

Compare against AMD open source..

Yea, cause AMD would rather publish documentation and discontinue their own proprietary driver.

Are icc-profiles a meme for watching videos? Why would people want less saturated colors?

Which is a MUCH better approach than what nvidia is trying to do: aggressively stand in the way of progress

Yeah, why would you want skin to have skin color instead of orange?

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that an ICC profile describes your monitor's color space and capabilities. Having one configured should ensure that you get the most accurate colors possible. This sort of thing is important for artists and other people who work with stuff where color accuracy matters. Disclaimer though, I could be totally wrong about this since it's not something I mess with.

That said, I'm using a TV as a monitor and don't think I can get an ICC profile for it unless I use one of those calibration devices so I've never really bothered with it.

>diff.pics/v2IfRvohkCF2/1
I'm supposed to see any difference?

I am in love with RAVU for animes but my TV shows still look better with NGU-Sharp than with igv's FSRCNN. I hope we could test MQ or/and HQ releases this week.

>These scripts are fragile (probably rather Debian's fault than ours).
When in doubt, that is right.

how do you enable ICC?

How to use RAVU for animes and FSRCNN with other videos?
I have all my animes into C:\P2P\Videos\Animes\*.

It's most visible on the tree trunks.

you buy a colorimeter and make an icc profile

>haasnsoft

Sure one could argue that but in the end all you get is a passable AMD driver where AMD itself doesn't have to be held accountable for it breaking.

what is lanczossoft better?

It's just madish shitposting.

Are you blind? On looks better.

Is there windows binary with vaporsynth?
I want smooth motion video in my playback.

Not that guy but really it should be specific to the monitor.

icc-profile-auto
icc-cache-dir="~~/mpv-icc"
Do this or tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm

i use mpv from ubuntu repo with default config

And you dont get any tearing?

I have downloaded an icc profile from the manufacturer of my screen. Do I have do put it into the mpv icc cache dir?

okay newfag here wat do?

What do you like?

Cool link, unfortunately my TV isn't on there.

anything and everything

icc-profile="~~/mpv-icc/yourprofile.icc"
If you don't want to install the profile, use this instead.

gpu and OS?

I think auto loads whatever profile you've installed on your system (if you've taken the time to do that).

sorry, by 'auto' I meant icc-profile-auto. Anyway you should either do this or read the manual.

guess it's back to madvr for you

consider IINA

I truly don't believe this changes shit

I have before, TVs don't usually have ICC profiles provided because they're typically not used with computers.

IINA?

IINA

If you're using git you should also compile against ffmpeg-git.

Is there any way to have subtitles hidden by default?
And does anyone have that playlist script?

In what? mpv? no

...

How the fuck do i use shaders on windows? asking for another user

Where do you get those memes? The one in the OP is the best i could find.
