Show us your guts
Guts thread
/guts/ threads die really fast nowadays.
Yeah, it really seems so. Quite lame here ...
It's a technology board, not a "show off my consumerism" board
Fuck, you morons might as well post your groceries or the random junk you buy off amazon.
But user, what's the showcase of the picture? Graphics cards are technology, Motherboards are technology.
...
...
They've been that way for a while
I'm just glad I learned a lesson from this and no longer have the desire to waste this much money again.
>7700k
I hope you learned your lesson
I did. Having to put proper tim on a flagship part is fucking jewish
Mine is idling, at < 28 C, who cares. It's in a mini ITX case, too.
I'm not posting my guts until I have my custom loop installed because you'll make fun of me for having a reference card.
>idle temperature
>ever mattering
beautiful
We really won't, if you just preface your post with that then it makes perfect sense. Sup Forumsutsu is pretty chill as long as there are no fanboys
Idle really doesn't tell much. The chip will go into c states at idle so of course it'll run cool.
really really oversaturated, youve got so much color noise
cable lacing is cool
still need to test if that bottom fan helps at all
...
holy shit, I could actually see myself using my GPU uprade money to buy a Threadripper system instead
Ok
Intel is shutting things down
too many ryzen based systems
Rip thread

I blame the lack of replies. People just post a pic and want free compliments. Btw what cooler is that? 5 heatpipes and dat size seem like it should do a pretty sweet job. Also; you ought to upgrade to a 1080p . 144hz or 1440p/ 60hz display. You have a lot of wasted horsepower.
I like it. You should make sure your cards have those VRM thermal pads though, so they don't catch fire.
Nice fusion reactor on your cpu there
Fight me. Give me something you like and something you dont/something to change
Planning to add a 512gb nvme for scratch disk, using my boot drive is taking its toll and the cache files get too big too fast, not to mention I'm limited by speed. 16gb of ram also inbound to replace this God awful 8
R8s and h8s to follow
Pretty nice but kinda dark/poorly lit.
Nice, but why not get some cable combs to make those cables much nicer?
Not a huge fan of the mixing colours, but other than that its decent. Reference GPUs is kinda meh too tho.
Very sleek and simple, I like it. I'm not a fan of that chassis, but from a guts point of view its really nice.
Decent, shame those expensive RGB fans barely show though (on the rad). Also could use some white cables for a nice accent.
A bit too cramped for my taste, but you did a nice job fitting it all in such a small case.
I still love the look of that sapphire nitro, looks decent otherwise too, would be cool if those green LEDs were also cyan.
Looks messy, I think mostly because of the cables. Other than that its pretty generic, not bad but not great.
trying to give some life and substance to this thread
like - good cable management for the most part, clean up the gpu cable | dislike - not much seems to be pretty balanced, however lightning needs work
like - that you realize /guts/ is dying to /pcbg/ and other issues, good cable management and clean, well matched colors on the whole build | dislike - the cable ties on the gpu cables, spend the 5 bucks for some combs
like - that threadripper bb, very well managed cables, I like the attention to the fan cable in the rear, them gpu look good stacked next to each other, using them for compute/cuda? why no SLI bridge? | dislike - christmas colors, gotta do something about that man idk how to help you there, could do with sleeved cables as well
like - love the attention to colors, really well done clean looking build, everything works incredibly well with the white led, not usually done well | dislike - get some sleeved cables for the second gpu, and tidy those up with some combs, same for the cpu cable, not a huge fan of the 3 massive EVGA logos either, but to each their own
>muh rgb meme
>muh infinity mirror pump
like - seems to be a no bullshit build, are you using that nvme for something other than a boot drive? i see you have the second ssd as well. Clean enough without custom cables | dislike - the use of rgb in this system, fans that more for style than performance, overpriced nzxt aio
like - that cable lacing, that sweet ass ncase, did a good job with the space you have user | dislike - could do a bit better on managing fan cables near the rear, i would have gone with a 240mm aio instead of 120mm for noise reasons
like - that nh-d15 with the swapped out fans, why those? why not 140mm? | dislike - that god awful color you've chosen holy shit, at least try to match them, that one mismatched sata cable pisses me off too
here
the cables are a bit of a mess right now, ive swapped 4 different gpu through this in the last month and ive not tidied since im waiting on sleeving supplies anyways. this case is the hardest ive ever worked in for cable management as well, a literal nightmare. some of it is the lighting too. some of the mess also might come from the extra add in cards, not common to see anything other than a gpu or two and maybe a wifi adapter in builds on here
also your like/dislike
like - that hard tubing, nothing crosses the case, interesting pump mount, good attention to color and detail | dislike - the fans, i get that they fit the build but I'll never understand why people that go for water cooling get anything but Gentle Typhoons
Well, it is only so dark, because the light in my room was not on, and it isnt even the final build ...
White light is still to focused on the upper part, so the camera wont get it quite right.
Next thing coming will be some UV led to reveal the invisible UV colour symbols
...
...
...
nice old school build, specs? is that a pair of 580s or what? love the heat pipes on them
could do with tidying the gpu cables some more, but otherwise kinda nice. if that thermal tape on the psu though? wtf is happening here?
>5 heatpipes and dat size seem like it should do a pretty sweet job
It's a thermalright macho rev. a.
And nah man, with this furnace of a cpu it's pretty much useless. Gets to 80s on stress tests, at stock.
I used to have a 4690k @ 1.28v and it was fine, but not with this 7700k even at stock.
I'm going to buy an AIO next week.
>you ought to upgrade to a 1080p . 144hz or 1440p/ 60hz display
Yeah, next thing I'm gonna buy.
>Nice, but why not get some cable combs to make those cables much nicer?
>the cable ties on the gpu cables, spend the 5 bucks for some combs
I will, eventually. Those cable ties are there just for the time being.
2600k gtx 480s
>gtx 480 SLI in the year of our lord two-thousand and seventeen
the absolute madman, what are temps like? get you a 7900x and the ring of fire is complete
they play video games at 91 I think idle around 70ish.... they sound like god dam jet engines. also that 1200watt psu with overclocked 480s and a 2600k exploded. I have not replaced it yet but I tested everything after the explosion everything still works
jesus christ my man
i used to take heat on here all the time before i got rid of my 1250w psu, I had it because the 295x2 and 8350 I used to had NEEDED it. I cant imagine what your system really needs
That cooler will leak onto your gpu.
I had the 120mm and same gpu. Caught it just before it turned to shit. The fluid was being held back from the gpu pcb by fluid retention on the backplate. It'll leak from where the pipe joins the base of the heatsink
...
This is my first build, please go easy.
work on your cable management dude, and the kink protector on the tubing looks horrible, but i like the no bullshit watercooling, looks almost early 2000s
it looks pretty good, if you had a shroud it would look great. try to tuck most of you cables behind the motherboard tray and things will look a lot better. cant be too nice though, you got a shit psu user, ya dun goofed. not to mention you overbought the shit out of that, your system would be fine even on a 600w
bout the best i can do with this case and non-modular PSU
hey i tried
man's got a modular psu and still does this
looks pretty good honestly, especially from the business side. I would route that sata cable behind the mobo tray if it'll reach though. How's that arctic cooler treating you?
How does one do it better?
using an i5 4590T that i stole so it doesn't really matter, but this cooler is super quiet. not sure if it is because of their soft mounting gimmick or what. maybe it's just that it can run real slow to cool this low-power CPU.
...
z i p t i e s
idk man they can tidy up all kinds of little kinks
>650 ti
>660
whats going on here
Gay
DifferentSLI
Allows you to SLI cards with the same core even if your motherboard doesn't support SLI. You don't even need the SLI bridge, it's just for the looks.
My server. Moved everything into my old fractal R5 case.
Are you passively cooling your CPU? Or is there a fan I can't see? And how's the scaling on that 660/650ti boost going? I remember the 650ti boost my friend got for $65. Was a little monster for the money.
>that wide angle lens
that itx mobo looks kawaii in that big case, makes good sense to use for a server though. the r4 was the defacto choice for many NAS for quite a while, and if you have it you may as well use it. i know that if my NAS was itx id be using something smaller, like the silverstone hotswap case or what not
I originally had everything inside of a fractal node 302. It case capable of holding 6 full sized HDDs. Problem was that even with the 2 front 92mm fans on Max, the drives were still teaching 48C when I was writing heavy to them over the network.
And wide angle lens is because fuck it. My V20 has it. Might as well make use of it.
For the price you paid for those cards, the performance they give isn't bad at all. And you may want to consider a heatsink with a fan on it. Even if the CPU isn't overheating, the heat being dumped on your SSD won't let that drive live long
There's a case fan cooling it, but only because the mSata SSD can get really hot (up to 65°C).
The 660 never gets over 80% usage, even though the 650Ti is maxed out.. makes sense though.
Got these cards for 35€ and 45€.
oops sorry, deleted it
I don't know, got to 65C when there were no case fans and everything was at 100% for 30 minutes, now there are 2 case fans (1 intake, 1 exhaust) so i think it will be just fine.
SSDs are more resilient than people think, but heat will eventually kill a drive. Just a warning is all. Don't keep data on there you really care about unless you have a back up somewhere else. I had a samsung 950 pro nvme SSD kill itself due to heatstroke
Samsung since replaced it with a 960 evo which runs cooler from the get go. But still. Something to at least take into consideration. You could always get those little heatsinks that go on VRMs or for the rpi and put them on your SSD.
Now that you mention it, it does look very Christmas-y. I've switched all the LEDs that I could to white.
The cards are for compute (rendering), I'll add a couple more down the road.
I've since switched to a single 1080ti, so I don't have the explosion problem. Still don't have enough time to update the picture though.
The chassis is probably one of my favorites. It just really doesn't have any negatives about it.
Luckily the three giant EVGA logos are gone and I only have one card now so no more sleeved issues.
are they 1070s? or 1080? what kind of compute work are you doing? threadripper any help?
Well, I will risk it. No AIO is 100% save.
Even the Corsair ones can leak.
And if something will be destroyed by it, they will refund it, just like other major brands do.
Nice, could you shoot a updated pic maybe?
>he thinks that they care about him that much
you have fun with that warranty claim user
Well, look up the storys of leakage of some deepcool AIOs, each and everyone got their refund of their harmed parts ...
Roomy and horizontal, I like it. What's the case?
So I basically got one of these things
I didn't pay for it and I didn't steal it (no jerome posting)
You guys think I should flip it and sell it or move all my shit from to it, because this case is far better than my phanteks one of course overlooking the large amount of branding. Better airflow so my 1080ti won't be starved anymore
Picture didn't attach propery
build i did beforey current one
Nice. Whats the case? What temps?
gpu temps were in the 40s and cpu was 50-60 i think
it was a define r4 with the 5.25 bays taken out to fit a 360 rad in the front and a thin 240 in the top
I replaced the stock cooler with a Hyper 212 evo. The shitty stock cooler couldn't even keep the 4790 (non-k version) from thermal throttling under prolonged max load. Fucking Intel. Will probably be going with a Zen 2 for my next CPU.
1 more pic
>fellow black and white man of taste
Wanna have a PC date? See if our networks connect?
yes pls
>Another 300R nigga
My chassis is ready
Don't die pls
This ones pretty good
this is what dell tower server guts look like (just to keep it alive)

Like yours because you seem like the type of guy to not give a shit
black light leds? how did you do to make that effect in the sapphire logo?
Go away, faggot.
Finally got a new case and a better picture.
I like the strip club purple mixed with the red
yeah it looks abit ghetto it was kinda the theme i mean how else am i going to theme a green build to?
well the PSU was 80+ gold just took off the sticker because its ugly.
and the that 2.5" harddisk and bracket looks too ghetto.
Give it time it will change.
I saw a new case sometime ago i might end up changing it when i move house.
how did you make that effect in the coolers?
My graphics card has them built into the fans.
I do really like how it looks i wish the graphics card didn't have the LEDS but the deal I got for it was too good to pass up.
What graphics card
PNY 8clr gtx 1070
Best advice I have is take the shroud off and disconnect the LEDs or see if there is some way to control them with LED visualizer, which I'll assume you've already tried
