Are you talking about bitmap or monospace fonts? Because this is what serif and sans-serif actually means.
And monospace fonts actually serve a purpose in that they allow code to be readable. You won't find a single editor or IDE that doesn't use a monospace font by default.

Fun fact, your font choice doesn't mean shit and won't change the fact that you are bad at programming. If it is monospaced it werks and the rest is personal taste. There is no "best programming font", grow up.
