Are there any real value benefits from this compared to second hand i7 processors?

I have. Dual Xeon X5670s in a Supermicro X8DTi-F motherboard with 48GB of ECC memory for my home virtualization server. Think I picked them up for $37 per CPU and $141 for the mobo.

botnet meme faggot

I have a 2699 v3 in mine

Actually, you're better off with AMD, since it took them longer to release backdoored CPUs.

Of all things to buy you suggest the one made ENTIRELY obsolete by AMD?

I have.

>Also there are people on this board that don't have dual processors.

I thought the money you didn't pay for the CPU you ended up paying anyway on the very expensive mobo?

w3680 lovin it

It depends on the generation of xeon, also you can always just buy a old workstation or server relatively cheaply.

Supermicro boards are $$$ though.

used xeons can often be found very cheap.

Finding a used i7 + suitable motherboard for same kind of money is generally harder.

This guy sounds chill, would go to lan-party with.

Brilliant

LUL

There's no moving parts, also I'm exploring my Gook heritage.
Guess I could use a VM pass through, but i have to use some Microsoft tools for my MIS classes

>only masterrace
I'm on god level with my ryzen

>16c xeon machine
>fucking 8gb of ram
LMAO

as bad as the people who buy 1080ti's because "hurr best of de best", putting those 32 threads to good use buddy, im sure 8gb of ram wont limit you at all under any actual taxing workload

Video rendering uses most the cpu, more ram would be nice though. I thought I could use my normal DDR3 with it I was wrong.

how the hell are xeons so cheap?

the 7900x is like 1000$ but im hearing you guys talk about 40-core processors for $39???

i think it's because they're shitty x86 cores with none of that avx2 sse4 goodness
