currently debating if i should drop it all and just go do something that doesn't involve abstract bullshit and the consumer driven bullshit society, something analog, or continue but as my own boss.

it's fun somehow but working in an enterprise is not as fulfilling as you might think. lot's of coolaid drinking and accepting bullshit for facts. just because people use linux somewhere doesn't mean they are professional, educated or care. also IT is everywhere seen as a cost factor without an immediately visble ROI, which is why a lot of tech dudes suffer, at least i know a lot who do

1) T430
2) Solus 3
3) I liked unity but now it's dead, using budgie now, it's alright. Yesterday installed void on a VM to try it and learn how to i3 and/or openbox (the openbox rounded patch is sexy as fug)
4) Graduate from college, do a PhD, get into academia and part time consulting or some other project that caught my interest, move to japan or somewhere really tech oriented, get a bit into infosec because I consider really important, and give back to the world in a meaningful way.

fairly recent desktop with an i7 running Debian 9
not so recent desktop with an older i3 running windows 7 professional
even less recent HP sff machine running windows 2000 server

thinkpad x200 also currently not running anything
thinkpad t61 also running nothing currently
some older hp business laptop, not running anything

raspberrry pi b+ running raspbian for some gpio related testing
dell poweredge 2950 with dual xeons running debian 8 with proxmox ve
dell poweredge t610 with dual xeons also running debian 8 and proxmox ve
each of these have a bunch of VMs, but they probably don't count
