Isn't this like the 4th Intel socket this year or something
Isn't this like the 4th Intel socket this year or something
o-only the third idiot
I rather not have my CPU being hold back by an outdated chipset arch. Im sure its not playing into intels favor to replace the chipset in any way, but its probably the only way for them to get that IPC gain.
Looking through the Asrock's webpage on the current lineup. Those board models in general sport more vrm's than their Z270 counterparts.
Yes, I know it's kinda expected, but I'm seeing a pattern here and I don't like it.
if this is 1151 could i use my z170 motherboard with this new i7?
If Intel has CPUs with smaller transistors (14nm to 10nm) that somehow take up MORE power, I think we’ve reached peak intel.
>Dumb rumor based on blanked out POS screenshot
>Hurr durr a motherboard you have to buy because no backwards compatibility
Kill yourself, housefires spammer.
nope. you need the new chipset.
>bought AB350 board
>bought R5 1600X
>thought value was supposed to be great
>CPU 40-50°C idle with a Noctua at 3.6ghz
>Corsair ram won't boot reliably past 2.4ghz
>actual perf downgrade in some games
>tfw it'll always be that garbage
>tfw I'll have to buy a new board anyway
>tfw fell of the ryzen meme
Thanks Sup Forums ..
show me a pic of ur rig
>1600x instead of 1600/1700
>didn't check RAM compatibility
>doesn't know about the temperature monitoring
>being a literal retard
Are you getting the temp reading from Ryzen Master? There's a temp offset on X series CPUs of 20c.
Also Corsair a shit.
What happen to the Sup Forumstards who keep saying that you won't need a new chipset/mobo for the new coffelake?
They went off to shekelland.
done
1600x was litteraly 20 euros more expensive than 1600, and I already had cooler. 1700 is way more expensive so I don't even know what you're trying to convey there.
I did check memory comptability, it's just a god damn gamble with Ryzen. Some people seemed to have good luck with that particular ram, I wasn't gonna spend 250€ on 3200hz cl14 ram just because that's the only type of ram Ryzen really does tend to like.
As far as temp are you talking offset?
Calling people retards doesn't make you sound smart you know, actually you're just screaming to the world how insecure you actually are.
Yes.
Got a 1600x and a ASRock 350 gaming k4 here extremely happy with it
Literally same setup as me and I get 2933ghz with 1.37 mem voltage
I dunno shit about motherboards. Why did you get that particular one? Plenty of good VRMs?
Idk I haven't bothered ocing my CPU it sat at 4.1ghz for a bit but seems just as fast at 3.7 stock not worth the extra 200-400mhz as ryzen is bottlenecked by ram speeds
I was one button away to pull the ryzen meme until i read the memery shit
Thanks anons and shills. now im waiting™ for 8th gen and gtx 2080
>my Ryzen stock cooler do better than some shitty aftermarket cooler.
>Buying X-meme
>Ascock board.
> BASED INTEL
> Motherboards are incompatible
Good goy.
>r3 1200
user...
Its the same socket so theres no real reason for it to be incompatible. I guess no one thought Intel would be so greedy they would reuse the same exact socket and chipset (Coffee Lake chipset is literally called Kaby Lake refresh) and make it incompatible for no reason.
Get your shit's firmware updated, current ones improved on compatibility and only the odd 3200 ram kit here and there still has issue, most should work flawlessly now.
What? I'm not gaming on some 6 cores bullshit when most game still aren't compatible for it.
This just an upgrade from my shitty i3 sandy, until the new Ryzen refresh came out.
Even with the 1200, most game still got bottlenecked by my GPU and the CPU still got 20% headroom.
Hell no I'm gonna buy a 2500k when my mobo is literally dying after 5 years of usage.
>The 1200 stock cooler
>Good
Update BIOS and clean install Windows, there's no way it should be idling at 50c
I did update bios first thing before even installing widows. You can see on the image it's up to date.
Dear valuable Intel Corporation collaborator,

Thank you for your service.
>never reach 55c during aida
Bretty good.
>nvidia meme70
Found yor problem
Meh, I wish they gave me an I5 instead because Ryzen is sure as hell over rated. I did buy the thing though. First time in a decade I buy their trash, last AMD cpu I had was socket 939.
Should have know better than listen to the shills here, most of you fags probably never even mounted your own computers.
It feels like asking about guns on /k/ really.
don't know why you're having issues. Especially with a noctua cooler. I have a single tower/single fan cooler equivalent to a hyper 212 EVO and pic related is my 1700X. Albeit stock speeds and voltages. Maybe consider a repaste? As far as memory, is your BIOS fullly updated? I know on my Corsair X370 ROG board I could barely get my CL14 2400mhz ram to stay stable. After updating, I was not only able to get it stable, but was able to crank down the timings to CL12 AND undervolt.
And my cooler doesn't even officially support AM4 mounting. I'm using AM3+ mounting brackets.
>i fucked up something
>its Sup Forums fault.
kys.
I had a temp issue with my r7 1700, I didn't screw the cooler bolts hard enough, got 50~60c while idling. Might wanna check your airflow or cooler
Ok, child. You can calm down now or daddy gonna spank you.
Yeah, it's a bit hot but certainly not a big deal though. What's pissing me off is the ram. Hope Asrock release a better bios at some point.
I hope that's just a copy pasta from another thread user, either that or you're a pretty pathetic fat ass.
>>CPU 40-50°C idle with a Noctua at 3.6ghz
You know that the "X" ryzens have a +20*C offset for smoother fan control right?
I was looking through your ram model and apparently a fair share of people can't even get those past 2133 on ryzen, so that kit is probably one of the odd ones.
Not on Ryzen Master.
Airflow is a meme.
I wonder how hot 8700k will be.
No it is not. I have a Define R4 and if I turn down front (intake) fans from 12V to 7V then CPU and GPU will get at least 5-10C degrees hotter than if the fans were running at full blast.
On idle it doesn't really matter though.
Its a meme, imagine if you wear a suit on a hot summer beach.
Wearing nothing at all will be much cooler.
I managed yesterday to push it to 3ghz with pretty shitty timings 18/18/18/38 1.4v and SOC 1.125 but it does crash after a few hours of use, couldn't even get a proper Trc, it'ld set itself to 69. Pretty much same deal with 2666hz, it'll hold up for a while with loose timings but still crash a game or give me a blue screen after a couple of hours.
kek.
3 sockets.
4 cpu platforms.
shit is mental.
Also the new intel cpu is a cpu glued ontop of a nother PCB.
intel is dead.
some people buy their cases to keep the spaghetti inside and not leave them open like that
