Just received my Mi5 Replacement LCD and so far it looks exactly the same as the original LCD.
All you need is $13 for the LCD and $0.50 for some B7000 and you're set. It was a relatively painless procedure, most of the time was spent removing the old LCD.

Generally speaking, tablets are one chink thing you shouldn't buy for the most part.
Other than the Mi Pad, ifive mini and Lenovo tab, Chink tablets suffer from a wide range of hardware issues and poor software which results in one thing working once in a while and breaking while also having absolutely jack shit for battery life.

Tempered glass screens do nothing at all to protect your phone's screen. And it tends to make your phone more dull.
If you really want to protect your phone's screen, get a case bumper, one of those cases that have ridges so that when it drops it won't touch the screen.

The only phone I ever broke was not from dropping but direct pressure when I was in a golfcart going too fast and it hit the sidebar while it was still in my cloth pouch. It also had a rubber case covering it, but that couldn't cover the screen.
