Portage is the greatest package manager

>portage is the greatest package manager
>it's written in python
??

that would be brew my friend.

You're a fucking child if you base your opinion of software on the language in which it is written, ignoring functionality.

Portage is by far the best package manager I've ever used.

I agree. Portage is the best package manager I ever used.

but python is by far the most unstable language

Go brew yourself a cup of bleach you fucking fag

Portage is stable. What else do you need

if you seriously think that, please consider unmerging yourself from the @world-set. but if you still can hear your inner-autism, then listen to it and install gentoo and embrace portage, emerge anew.

A small flaw

What would you program it in instead? Portage has shit ton of features. It supports different archs, multilib, FreeBSD kernel/userland, different libc's, Clang system-wide etc. etc.

C++ probably, get a nice speedup going

I'd say D if g++ wasn't already on everyone's Linux install

>package manager
Nice try, skiddie. Come back to me when you know how to PORT an entire large application to your OS manually.

ooo careful everyone we've got a badass over here

>yfw gentoo-kids limited to use flags
>mfw I have FULL customibility to every piece of software
Can't get anymore FOSS than that.

what distro do you use, fag

Homebrew literally datamines you.

This is one of the most idiotic threads I've ever seen on this board.

>confining yourself to one distro
OpenBSD on my ThinkPad for all vuln research and shit.

Vmware + VirtualBox + Qubes running Arch, Windows 8.1, and Whonix for everything else. It's all on a Gentoo install though ;)

lurk more or get out

This is pretty fucking tame compared to the consumerist garbage posted here
Gtfo faggot

The absolute state of post-Sup Forums.

Portage is an excellent package manager. NixOS' package management tools are very good too.

NixOS and GNU GUIX have solved the userland package management problem.

I actually have no problem with threads discussing and comparing consumer products. After all, that's kind of the point- to discuss and share technology we have.

It's these ridiculous middle school tier memes that get shoveled around on these "ironic" threads that make me want to fucking kill myself.

anime website

What of it?

Shit waifu.

anime website

I bet you don't even know any real animes.

>tfw installed homebrew when I first got my mac
>realize macports is better, but everything I use currently is linked to homebrew
help

anime website

:*)

Intel. AMD, and Nvidia threads are nowhere near healthy discussions
Sure there's that 1 good thread out of the hundreds (exaggeration) that get posted here that deserves a worthy mention
This is definitely pretty tame compared to those

lol ur dumb

Anime website.

every language is unstable if you're a shit programmer

Homebrew is fucking shit
macports is what you want, and even that is lacking

...

Excuse me, sir, but FreeBSD ports would like a word with you.

in your own words, how is macports better

LINKEKS ABSOLUTELY
>BTFO

nicolas viado
bixa do caralho

>FreeBSD
lmao

Rust.

Pacman is by far the best package manager, fuck offf gen2 shill

>no USE flags
Don't even try archfag

I am not autistic enough to insist on such shitty stuff like compiling my software, do I look like I have hours to wait for a fucking piece of software when I could just get the binary from a official repo and can start fapping in less than 2 minutes?

Your autism is strong

That's nice, just don't pretend pacman isn't shit compared to Portage

>archfag
>pretending not to be autistic

Reminder that Arch is for people too autistic to use a normal distro, yet too much of a brainlet to use gentoo.

Nice quads m8

kys fag

first day?

My nigger

Read the whole text, asshole and see what he means by "distraction".
