Why have phones gotten so big and phone batteries so shit?

Why have phones gotten so big and phone batteries so shit?

I don't get why people aren't clamouring for better batteries. Who are these retards that want bigger phones to watch shit while having to plug it in to avoid it dying in a couple of hours.

because normies dont understand the appeal of THICC phones

it's because men have small dicks.
Woman will associate 7" with a 7" phone's height.
we need 4:3 phones

That's what you get for buying cuck phones. My Note 4X has a 4000Mah battery and lasts two days on one charge with normal usage. Also you have to be a complete retard to not understand why the phones are getting bigger. We need more screen space and it's just easier to see on a bigger screen. Activate your brain once in a while and take your head out of your ass.

>I don't get why people aren't clamouring for better batteries

nearly everyone is

unfortunately a thin phone that feels great in the hand that is next to it in a store will have more people wanting to buy it

There is no reason why we cant have a good battery and a good comfortable design. There are things like that moto e and chink phones that have huge batteries and relatively thin bodies.

Batteries are shit because there hasn't been much technologic progress for them (that isn't ridiculously expensive or impractical for a phone). The best you can do is go thicker, which will result in ten thousand tech blogs per second whining about how your phone looks like it's from 1990.

7 inch phablets where? currently on a 6.44 inch phablet and i can never go back

Batteries always were shit and never really improved. What changed was the SOC and software being more efficient and battery life on newer Apple devices is perfectly fine. Making it longer would add weight to a device that's meant to be held in the hand for long periods of time, which is silly.

I read that Lagdroid had a lot improvements too when it comes to software in O, so maybe newer phones won't have such a shit battery life.

Going for longer than 8-10h battery life under LTE doesn't make sense for most people either way, and if you need more, there are phones for that too or huge cases for tablets.

Get the honor note 9.

Phones get bigger because DUDE LOOK AT 12340124178271017402 PIXELS LMAO, whereas batteries didn't go anywhere and just couldn't keep up with energy demand increase. I use 4 inch screen and bigger screens feel so impractical.

not sure why I fell for this meme, my first smartphone is 5.5"

Gotta get my 4000 x 3000 resolution though.

Back in my day 7 inches was an actual tablet.

What OP is talking about?

>3,5" 3GS iPhone with 5"> phones with 3000mAh> battery lasts one day
where did it all go so wrong

Xiaomi phones worth buying don't have this problem.

>and phone batteries so shit?

you're just buying the wrong phones

nice cargo shorts

>get 12 hours worth of energy for pennies
>clean and silent
>handles ridiculous demands like 3d gaming
>dont have to fill your phone with gasoline

WHY ARE BATTERIES SO SHIT

No.

Thinner phones don't actually feel better, except maybe in terms of weight.

The sole reason is that Apple decided that more thin = more cool and everyone else mindlessly copies Apple's retarded decisions.

>he has manlet hands

Because we need 4K screens in our phones.

So the hardware has to be beefy, and we want everything paper thin.

Had the honor 5x since launch and I'm not sure what I'll upgrade to once the time comes. I do wish it was a little faster at times but I've been happy with it.

>currently on a 6.44 inch phablet and i can never go back

Now you understand how white women feel.

>Wow if I don't use my phone the battery lasts forever

Get a chink phone. Problem solved. 4k battery here.

Strap on a cannon and it's a tank.

Chinkphone master race

...

>because muh fin fone
If fags didnt dictate the market we could have our phones powered off of a pack of 18650s and theyd last for months

Has there been any big leap in battery technology in the last few years?
I feel like everytime you read something about that it never actually makes it to the market.

htc 10

i read some days ago something about sumsung using some new kind of battery on their new meme phone, but didn't pay attention to it.

anorexia and shitty design

I have a vodafone smart ultra 6, have it since it came out. Cost about 200$ new, Its not a high end phone, its more like a phablet, 5.5". I disabled literally anything that would drain the battery useless, sometimes i get 6-7 hours screen on time.
The only installed apps are whatsapp and messenger. I even browse facebook from chrome. Sometimes i use maps, most of the time i browse the web or watch youtube.
I have unplugged it at 9 am, now its 2am.

>Who are these retards that want bigger phones to watch shit while having to plug it in to avoid it dying in a couple of hours.
Hint: They're only watching porn on their phones. And they only watch porn for a few minutes at a time....

Stupid normies, the reason almost all consumer products from washing machines to cars have become complete fucking garbage. Manufacturers can see that cutting costs while maintaining a fancy look and a smooth marketing campaign keeps people buying their products while earning them higher profits. This is especially true if your an established brand like Samsung or Apple. When the average person walks into a store they'll most likely buy what they already know, it's just easier and more comfortable for them than comparing products on their merits.

>user, why did you buy a counterfeit iphone?

I have the lg g4 in op's pic.
I didn't care about dimensions and or battery and other shit.
I cared about connectivity.
Samsung cripples their socs, they disable a lot of staff.
Other companies, don't even use socs with usefull features, not even the iCraps which are supposed to have plenty of features.
Welp, lg g4 has almost everything. What's missing? Temperature sensor.
That's it.
It has everything, removable battery, sd card, fm radio, nfc, wireless charging, abgdac wifi, and a shitload of other things which you can find easily.
All that from a 2015 phone that came with android 5.0, upgraded to 6.0 and now it's going to get 7.0.
The price? I bought it 280 euros.

sure would be nice if I could run replicant on it though
or root it
it's not even a large phone for me, I can't type comfortably with both hands

>I don't get why people aren't clamouring for better batteries.

because for many people they are good enough.

>Why have phones gotten so big and phone batteries so shit?

Generally speaking batteries have improved, but the gains are nothing substantial.
You're looking at 1-3% gains in terms of energy stored per gram YoY

It wasn't long ago that we had 1500mAh batteries in phones

>5.5in
>Phablet
Sure, if you got tiny hands

I've moved from 5.5in to 6.44 in Mi Max 2

Apple hasn't decreased thickness since 2014.
