This is your second thread shilling this thing I believe?
I'll bite. I've lived on my desktop 16 hours a day since like 2003 and I've never once used a trackball.
Is it master input device for shitposting? That thing looks comfy as fuck, I'd be willing to try it assuming a lenient return policy.

not op but don't fall for the memes, nothing will ever be faster or more accurate than a proper mouse and pic related to hopefully show I'm not talking entirely out of my arse, but that's not to say trackballs (or trackpoints or a decent trackpad like applel) don't have their pros despite their cons
in the case of trackballs one of the biggest benefits is that you don't move the thing (duh) and this makes them brilliant for using on soft surfaces or on small areas like a small arm rest or a desk where you can barely move a mouse, some people have claimed that they can use trackballs with some severe wrist RSI but just keep in mind you'll be using your thumb/finger a *lot*, they take a deceptive amount of scrolling if you don't bump your mouse sensitivity through the roof and trackballs benefit a huge amount from mouse acceleration unsurprisingly
if I had to rate them, mouse > * given a proper mousemat/area to work in, trackballs > trackpoints > trackpads (but I haven't used a decent trackpad yet), so far I've mostly used mine with my laptop on a sofa or in bed as they're far quicker/more accurate than a trackpoint/pad but given a proper desk with a proper mouse there's just no point in them in my experience
I did go with logitech because they were the only ones still doing thumb trackballs at the time that I was aware of but I'd strongly recommend looking into a finger trackball, I had some slight nostalgia as I did like using a thumb trackball close to two decades ago when I was a kid but now that I'm an adult with large hands I tend to get thumb cramps if I'm using it for any serious length of time, the finger trackballs seem like they won't have this issue
that said, the logitech m570 is a nasty piece of shit with awful loud buttons and a scroll wheel that feels like it came from the early 2000s, the new one looks like a huge improvement but you'll be paying out the arse for it
Japs are shilling this mouse to max, they love the logitech trackballs, the artist that makes Tsugumomo has like 100 in his draws.
For pretty much the same price you can get pic related which has a trackball in a really nice position and you get a full buckling spring board with it.
Actually, there's literally no reason to use a separate mouse if you have one of these.
I tried a thumb trackball very similar
I prefer the Kensington Orbit finger trackball
My hands are too large to use a mouse
what is this beauty's name?
Thumb trackballs are shit for games - way too much strain trying to finetune your aim quickly with a finger that wasn't meant for such precision.
I have an M570, fell for the meme at some point.
Thumb balls are alright for work and slow games I guess. But for 100 hecking dollars you should just get a vertical mouse or regular finger trackball, decent ones are available for cheap.
great thumbball tbqh with you lad but $100 is too much, if it would be like $50, I'd be down for that shit.
>Nominal value : 380 dpi
Minimal and maximal value : 320 dpi - 440 dpi
Fucking worthless.
Get wrecked faggot.
idk what gook shit loggy is but Im not buying it.
Also Im sure they are gonna flat out lie about its wireless range and give it subpar OPTICAL sensors instead of a real laser sensor.
Redpill me on trackballs Sup Forums
How are they better than a mouse / trackpoint?
low/no wrist movement.
for thumballs, less impact on your thumb as the thumb sticks on a xbox/ps4 controller
for fingerballs, a bit more finetuned movement, like with larger kensingtons
you don't need a flat surface to use a trackball
the older m570 gets like half a year on one battery.
cons:
you do need to clean the ball holders every so often to remove dead skin buildup. takes a couple seconds but there's no way around this because of the ball
the click switches on logitech's m570 and older mice wear out fast but are easy to solder on and cheap to buy. still sucks that they don't last. not sure about others, probably not as cheaped out switches
Less wrist strain, ergonomic comfiness, almost aimbot cheating accuracy, and energy efficiency.
>almost aimbot cheating accuracy
Yeah, but what about fast movements? Especially in rts like starcraft or warcraft.
Fingerballs looks fine, but I doubt you can be fast and precise with a thumbball
imho i think people claming low accuracy are mostly not considering the fact that after using a mouse for 10+years you will find every other pointing device type inaccurate,
I dont own a trackball though, but i would like to hear from a person using both for more than 5 years at least.
Few people clam low accuracy, to be honest I heard you're actually more precise with a trackball. I just doubt you can be as fast as you can be with a mouse.
If you check on youtube you can see some people playing with it. Sometimes a single movement is not enough to reach the element you want to click and if you spin the ball fast most sensors don't detect the movement.
I mean... there is a reason if pro gamers still use a mouse. It's not like they don't have time to learn how to use a new device.
Sometimes being very fast is more important than being more precise. If fact this is true most of the times.
Think of how accurate you are from using a thumb stick on a console controller, like xbox or ps. Just starting out you'll be pretty shit at any fps, but give it a bit of time to get used to it and you'll be pretty fast at movement.
trackballs are better, it's just easier to get finer movement if you use two fingers (like with a big kensington) than just the thumb, but spend time actually using them and it'll just be like normal but without any wrist/arm fatigue.
The real problem is the click switches in the older logitech mice. they fail with heavy use. for desktop use they last a good while but you'll wear them out in about 4-7 months from brand new if you game at all. I've soldered new switches on my m570 to fix this but it's still shitty to have to do it. you can catch the m570 on sale regularly though
i recently moved to 1000dpi (because it's native) from 500dpi, i imagine trackballs must be faster than mice on the same dpi (because standard dpi for a mouse have been 800~1000 for at least 10years, and most trackballs seem to be in sub 400 dpi range), but have limited travel distance (hand vs mousepad). Ball size is also a factor, but really for fast rtses like starcraft i dont see the need to have more than 500dpi, im a plat/dia "plays maybe 50 games a season" shit though, i do most camera movements with the keyboard (control groups/backspace/fkeys/space)
I really wish Microsoft would either make or release the technology for someone to make a wireless version of the trackman explorer.
Kerp fucking shit up in League. He uses a wired Logitech trackball.
Elecom Huge is for you.
