I convert them to mp3 then I repost them on my account and set them to private for conveniency

Is there any reason at all not to use Opus?

If your proprietary music player doesn't support it.

Otherwise, ~120k opus is similar to 192 kbps mp3

>downloading from youtube at all

>48kHz

>popular music listeners

What?

if your devices cost about 20 $

audiophiles are uncompromising autists. if there's some music you want badly but your niche hipster music isn't available in a suitable format online, then you'd go buy a CD or something and rip it.

this is a "beggars can't be choosers" moment. if you're downloading audio from youtube, you're a beggar. you can't claim to be discerning and expect us not to laugh at you.

The proper test is called an ABX test. Opus wins out in double blind ABX test.

>not demuxing the audio
why would you want to converting from one lossy format to another?

That is not ABX. ABX compares an unknown to two references. It is not suited to mass codec testing. The protocol look more like ABC/HR, multiple high quality codecs with hidden reference.

For minimize external biases, neither listener nor experimenter must know what as is being played until after test is concluded. Double blind.

Foobar2000 supports pretty much anything you throw at it.

I meant the specialized physical music hardware that some people still buy.

>downloading youtube audio tracks
only faggots who can't look around a bit use this

flac -> .opus
always

I convert youtube to FLAC and post albums on torrent sites.

>this thread

Audacity with FFMPEG plugin opens almost anything. So I don't need to convert.
And most of the stuff I would download from Youtube isn't always for the music.

>YouTube audio tracks you download

Who the fuck downloads music from Youtube? That's like renting porn from a library.

>Audiophiles
>YouTube audio tracks
This is a troll right?

You can clearly recognize youtube audio on my shitty car stereo. You aren't automatically an autistic audiophile just because you prefer not complete shit quality.

I have no idea why you'd download anything from Youtube when there's stuff like Deezloader or spotify-ripper

(You)

But opus is the audio format i get after demuxing from the webm

Liar detected. With the noise from the outside world and car engine everything sounds the same

i convert them to flac you dummy

i dont seed your torrents

Not true. Maybe you should try and actually listen to YouTube when it is set to 240p compared to 720p.
