Any non-proprietary file formats. Mp3, aac or ogg vorbis

FLAC if you have space for Lossless
Max Bitrate MP3/M4A if not
Really depends what you wanna play it with though (ie: ALAC if iPods and such)

isn't mp3 proprietary?

Patents expired.

For archiving: FLAC
For home/portable listening: Opus 128 VBR
For legacy devices: MP3 v0

Is 32 gb enough for 100+ tracks in FLAC?

they made it open or some shit like that recently

10 tracks are around 300MB. So yes.

FLAC is usually about 1000 kb/s so you do the math

In what samplerate?

Uhh...That's a lot of data. I assume that they're supposed to be better quality right?

Google lossless compression.

yes, supposed to be.

But chances are you cant even tell the difference between a 192 kbps mp3 and a 320kbps

First consider what format you have right now. If your music is already mp3 or any lossy format, keep it as you have it.
If you have cd's or any lossless format, best choice is:
If the player your are using does not support opus, go with 192kbps m4a.

ATTRAC

.FLAC. Always.

This. Best if it's an upsample from 44.1k/16 CD to 192k/24bit FLAC, music can never sound better than that.
