I need a car that captures that feeling of AAA videogames with always-online DRM, on-disc DLC and user data farming
Literally the perfect car
>No front grill
will there also be a DLC for that?
I think it's optional
>Buy 50kw battery
>Get 50kw
>Buy to unlock the rest of it (which is 52.5kw)
LOL DLC
>Buy a normal car
>Want to unlock the rest of its power
>Buy ECU
LOL NOT SOME FORM OF DLC AT ALL
its not because it voids the warranty. its more like a hack.
ECUs don't really ever unlock power though. Mostly they alter timings and air/fuel, which usually deteriorates power, efficiency, or reliability. Now if you throw on a CAI and an exhaust and you tune your ECU then you might get power gains, but mostly engines are a tried and true science.
Tesla is literally the Apple of cars.
...
>cars aren't technology
Its to remind you that its an electric car
Some cars do this its mostly special snowflakes that no one can afford or cars sold in third world countries where power is taxed.
>Manufacturer of electric car limits the capacity of their cars to improve user expirience and account for normal Lithium battery decay
>Unlocks it for free to help alleviate distaster and rescue
>"wtf i hate tesla now"
The state of (You)
The unlock is a permanent upgrade you pay for you idiot, not a safety measure against decay.
There's no radiator, why the fuck put an unnecessary metal grill there weighing the car down
>metal grill
What's it like in 1970 grandpa?
Is it even possible to buy a car made in the last ten years that doesn't have built-in tracking and telemetry?
Go drink some bleach and shoot yourself in the mouth, you shit brained fucktard.
ECU tuning is only beneficial for forced injection engines when the amount of boost has been changed from what the ECU was designed for.
>injection
forced induction, fuck
>t. the shit-brained fucktard who thinks replacing a solid piece of metal with a perforated/cut up piece of metal adds weight
The absence of a grill is a massive aerodynamic advantage, you morons. ICE cars push air through their engine compartments for cooling at extreme cost to aerodynamic efficiency. It would be stupid from an engineering standpoint not to have a smooth nose if you easily can, and stupid form a design standpoint to imitate old design features that were only ever there in the first place for technical reasons.
A simple "oh yeah I guess they don't use metal anymore lol" would have sufficed but instead you got buttflustered.
That's wrong though. It's beneficial if any parameters have been changed, including things like backpressure and intake volume. Especially with MAF sensors and exchanging intakes from a box to a cone. Or yes, when you change your pressures, or injectors, or compression ratio, or cams.
It's actually negligible, the flow rate is good enough but restrictive enough that it forms a "bubble" so to speak, mitigating air resistance. This is because they are designed to channel a limited volume of air at high speeds to create resistance through the grill channels, this forces all air that isn't inducted into the grill around it at the normal rate.
>parameters
If you have made big changes to your hardware there may be some other cases where you'll see some results, but ECU tuning after adding a sportier air intake and a catback system is going to get you like 3 HP most of the time.
The fact that grills are designed to minimize the aerodynamic impact of engine cooling does not imply that engine cooling does not have a significant aerodynamic impact. Deleting the grill is by far the biggest aerodynamic improvement you can make to a passenger car without radically changing its shape.
>Deleting the grill is by far the biggest aerodynamic improvement you can make to a passenger car without radically changing its shape.
I should say, the second biggest after simply making the car smaller.
>ten years
Yes.
>five years
Probably not.
If you put a cone on an engine and it's not tuned you'll lose HP and mileage. Once tuned you can gain both in small margins.
Go throw a winter bra over your grill and tell me how excellent your mileage didn't magically become because the air resistance generated by the cooling systems is marginal.
>Go throw a winter bra over your grill and tell me how excellent your mileage didn't magically become because the air resistance generated by the cooling systems is marginal.
That would obviously make it worse unless you also cover the bottom of the engine compartment. Do both, and your mileage will improve.
ITT:Why Sup Forums should not into /o/
>What are air scoops
>What is ducting
Sage this depressing noise
Show me a car produced in higher volume than the model S that runs ducts between every intake and exhaust on its cooling system. If anything, the fact that race cars are designed that way only demonstrates the point that the design that road cars use is a disadvantage.
hmmm tough choice
ferrari
lambo
porscha
vw
fiat
nissan
toyota
alfa romeo
well the list goes on everyone sells cars with the same engine and reduces HP
>muh milage
cars without a front grill and exhaust pipes look retarded
>that's not the way it's always been, so it's stupid
>i need someone who really needs to go back to Sup Forums
>say no more senpai
Apple will probably buy tesla at some point.
It's a rolling computer, it belongs here.
Musk probably wouldn't want that. But they could always buy one (or all) of the big three.
