This is like a clingy ex-gf begging you to take her back after she got covered in somebody else's salty nutella.

>windows is a service

I have never, ever seen that message, I turn my system off every night so they just install when they need to.
Proly op is just retarded

>windows is a service
uhmm no sweetie

You can defer feature updates for 365 days on regular versions of 10 and security updates for 30 days. If you don't want feature updates at all you use LTSB. Don't complain because you're too retarded to look through settings.

Neither have I. But I just got it. First time I ever saw it today. I think it has to do with them rolling out their gay as "acrylic" update

I have home edition, you can't do that on home edition.
>just pay for standard

I paid fucking 90 bucks for windows 8, and they updated AGAINST MY WILL.
Fuck off. I'm not paying.

>What is the Alt-Right?
A hateful ideology that attempts to rationalize the lack of value males inherently have and why they're allowed to be so barbaric and lazy.

That's next month, this is the regular cumulative update that includes general security fixes as well as any updates you haven't installed from the last few months.

Also I've never received this message because I restart more than once a month.

No, that pop up when you delay updates for over a week or two I believe.
Why would anyone skip security updates holy balls
Paying what, just pirate it nigger

you know why they force update?
BECAUSE THOSE FAGGOTS TRACK YOU AND EVERY THEN OR SO THEY UPDATE THEIR SERVER API AND ALL THEIR FUCKING DEVICES HAVE TO ADAPT TO THE NEW API SO THEY DON'T FLOOD THE SERVER WITH ERRONEOUS DATA!!!!!

> Doesn't know how to properly config updates
> Runs with all the normie settings turned on
> Surprised that the computer treats you like a retarded toddler

Nah, it's just that the computer interacts with you at a level matching your intelligence. Just deal with it.

If you have a home edition of a desktop operating system why can't you spare 5-10 minutes restarting your computer every couple of weeks? If your uptime is that critical you should really be running a server operating system, or at least an enterprise edition.

They now force updates because retards keep downloading and executing cryptolockers that have already been patched bringing entire businesses to their knees.

If you need Windows you should be on LTSB anyway.

>Why would anyone skip security updates holy balls
Because it's my computer and I secure it however the fuck I want to. Booted from loonix livecd and deleted everything related to updates from system32, try harder botnet.

Its just neet faggots who think that leaving the pc on at all times is useful because they don't pay their parents electricity.
Dumb anime poster

unless you have access to the source code nothing you do is going to patch vulnerabilities in your software

>fuck

>needs to configure "work hours" and configure his updates
Windows 7 never had a problem with updates and never had to do any of this shit. The most configuring I had to do with windows 7 was turn off mouse acceleration

>Working in servers and data centers, restarts for install updates of Linux, Unixes and other is ok

>Restart in windows laptops is evil

this
windows takes your mmr into consideration

>Windows is a service
No it's a product. Fucking scum

Got an update today too, took ages to restart and boot.

Windows 7 would harrass you to restart and even attempt to force a restart by default, so you're full of shit.

They are patching a 0day bluetooth vulnerability that got disclosed yesterday, so they are pushing it harder to avoid another cryptolock-like scenario.

It didn't took more than 4 minutes on my 9 old machine man, what are you doing?

please delete this image it just triggered my ptsd
>tfw window was bugged once
>couldn't restart now or postpone
>had to wait it out
nightmares

support.microsoft.com/en-ie/help/4038788/windows-10-update-kb4038788
it's a big one

You only have to restart for updates in GNU/Linux if it's a kernel update. Even then there are live-patching services.

And it would never force me to update. I could keep hitting delay 4 hours forever if I wanted to. Meanwhile windows 10 will restart regardless of what you're doing and won't let you delay forever.

Even then if I delay 4 hours right before I go to bed the computer will go off in my sleep. Unlike windows 10 which needs special fancy hours to do this for some fucking reason

Windows 7 and 8 never had this problem. I've never seen more b itching about restarting for updates ever than from windows 10

webmshare.com/m8vr9

THIS IS TOO FUCKING FAR, MICROSOFT

No the alt right are a bunch of faggots, just like you.

> Implying Windows 7 didn't have automatic updates turned on by default
> Implying Windows 7 didn't try to force a restart on you unless you tuned it off in Group Policies

Those are some thick rose colored glasses you got there, user.

>Windows 7 and 8 never had this problem
You can keep telling yourself this, but nagging updates was a staple in Windows 7. Sorry you're too young to remember.
And the active hours is so that it can update & restart without interrupting you, ie in your sleep, so you can get back to using it.
Then you can set a special restart time too, and disable notifications for updates.

tl;dr, there's more options now to actually have your system constantly updated without even knowing it's updating, but SOMEHOW y'all niggers still find a way to fuck that up

>Forcing retarded users to get critical security updates is a "problem" now
They deserve it, normal users who just shutdown daily don't have this problem.

The point is you'd need to configure it to stop it trying to force a restart. You said 7 never had any problems with updates or had to be configured.

Also Windows 10 doesn't force you to restart or update at all if you're not braindead, this is a normal Pro installation.

>running smoothly
My computer becomes shittier and shittier after every new update

Prove it, oh wait, you can't

Fucking hell

You do realize you can configure updates in Group Policies with a lot more control than the toddler-friendly GUI they got going in "PC Settings", right?

>> Implying Windows 7 didn't have automatic updates turned on by default
One click to turn them off

Unlike windows 10 where you can't at all and the only way to regular them is with special hours bullshit

> SWE

Found your problem.

see

Why the fuck do I have to use group policy on a single fucking computer in my house its fucking stupid

you are a brainlet and deserve to be treated as such by your operating system

where you belong

Yep, retarded users like you should have updates forced down their throats like the little bitches you are.
Meanwhile, power users who aren't afraid of no group policy don't have to deal with this.
Feels good man.

>I want daddy Microsoft to take control of my property so I don't have to pay for the consequences of my idiocy
Windows is the welfare OS.

> Unlike windows 10 where you can't at all and the only way to regular them is with special hours bullshit

You're a special flavor of stupid, aren't you?

> What is group policies
> What is registry editing
> What is services

Also why the hell would you want to turn OFF updates. I can understand not wanting to reboot outside planned maintenance, but completely turning them off will just make you vulnerable to shit like cryptolocker.

Not installing updates is the idiocy and being pwned by a remote execution exploit is the consequence.

>it's another retard who thinks his "common sense 2017 XD" protects him from vulnerabilities in his software
pic related it's you

> Needs a friendly UI with smiley faces to hand hold him through the process of making changes to settings

You deserve having updates shoved down your throat.

i have never, ever seen that message...because i run linux

Why do I need to go through all the fucking effort of group policies and registry editing? What kind of bullshit is shit. I can't do a one click but I have to go look through the registry to disable updates that Microsoft will probably just reissue an update that will turn all that back on?

It's a fucking farce, I'll stick with windows 7 where I clicked one button 10 years ago than put up with windows 10 bullshit that I have to jump through massive gymnastics just to function anywhere near the same as windows 7

Read these
And now get out

Just disable windows update in services and enable it once a month. Hell I'm sure you could automate the process in task scheduler

No u

>it's not Microsoft fault for making an operating system so forceful
>it's actually your fault. If you want a functional windows on par with 7 just go into group policy to change settings, edit the registry because windows 10 on its own is so shit.
>back up said registry incase Microsoft issues an update to fuck up all your changes
>set arbitrary "active hours"

I didn't have to do any of this with windows 7

Group policy adjustments are standard for even the most basic of power users in any version of Windows, sorry to say but you are the target audience for automatic updates.

>active hours
>arbitrary
t. NEET

Just go back to 7 then fucking nigger, no one is forcing you to use 10, keep crying little salty bitch nigga, go be a retard somewhere else.

No its not. In 15 years of windows I've never had to touch group policy for anything other than setting computer permissions across a network of computers. This is one single computer in my house. I shouldn't have to go to great lengths just to make it work like windows 7. This is dogshit I've never had to do this much trouble shooting for something so simple it should have been there in the first place

Calling these monotonous edits and changes far beyond normal function is anything but. It's afunctionality.

Like windows 7 I should be able to just click one button not go through all this dogshit. Calling more complicated steps better is retarded

>install updates that have been nagging for several weeks now, including creators update
>literally bricks the machine, network connectivity lost
>find out the network driver is too old to support teaming on creators update
>the old teaming setting got somehow hidden making it impossible reuse the manually assigned ip address
>this is really fucked up right now
>revert the creators update
>driver is fucked, missing features, only basic functionality
>can't even reinstall
>follow what the manufacturer's advice and erase every inch of the driver
>reinstalling still doesn't work
>manufacturer's lastly advises "reinstall Windows"

fuggg this

Read these
(You)
And now get out

>runs out of arguments
>ends up recommending windows 7 because it's better in the end

Keep blaming the user you dumb street shitters, I'm sure you'll get a lot of Bing points today.

>it's the user's fault Microsoft made such a ridiculous operating system

Its better for retards like you, that's a no brainer.
Read

You've yet to explain why you consider updates to be "shit". It is awfully negligent of you to leave gaping security holes in software as critical as your operating system. Even on my shitty laptop that I just use on the train with a 5400rpm HDD updates take no longer than 5 or so minutes to install. Your entire hatred stems from an irrational fear of restarting your computer, is your uptime number that important to you? I'm going to assume you don't pay for your own electricity and live at home judging by the average intelligence of your posts as well as your constant labeling of active hours as "arbitrary".

>you're a retard for not suckling Microsoft cock
How much did they pay you to defend afunctional shit

Having to jump through all that crap is not an upgrade

Having updates forced down my throat in the middle of me working on something is not an upgrade in user functionality

Having to set arbitrary hours for work because Microsoft wants to force updates on you because they made a system that is more complicated and worse than the previous iteration is not progress

Having to change the registry is such a stupid jury rigged work around that trying to substitute that for the simplicity of hitting one button on windows 10 are not comparable on anyway

>Power users don't have any issue
>Retard users have issues

tfw micro$oft has detected my 3rd world internet and never suggest me updates still on 1511(10586)

Why do I have to set active hours anyway. What was wrong with the previous method of issuing updates? Protip there was nothing wrong with it

>BASED Daily Stormer visitor

>it's the os that's wrong

No according to you the user is wrong because he refuses to put up with less functional shit.

Windows 7 does it objectively better with less steps

This damage control is beautiful.
Keep crying you Indian ape.

Windows' primary audience is normalfags, and normalfags need updates to be forced on them or you get a repeat of time when it was daily news for some new worm using an exploit that was fixed in an update several months ago to tear through millions of computers. If you're not a braindead normalfag, it is very easy for you to configure the update system, the options are simply hidden just deep enough for normalfags to be scared off and decide it's "too much effort". Case in point, the retarded OP.

>there was nothing wrong with it
There's a reason Windows gained a reputation for being insecure, and it's because retards never installed updates and then laid the blame with MS when they got raped by some ancient exploit that was patched before the malware was even created.

>Calling out retards its damage control

>Having updates forced down my throat in the middle of me working on something is not an upgrade in user functionality
This doesn't happen unless your "work" lasts for several weeks with no interruptions permissible, at which point you should not be using Windows at all, let alone a home edition.

>arbitrary hours
There you go again, just set it before you go to bed NEET.

>There's a reason Windows gained a reputation for being insecure
It didn't. It was the most sought after platform because it was the most popular

Pretending that the issue was getting updates to the computers and not the fact that malware developers could affect the most on the most popular platform is disillusioned

I think the joke was too deep for you user, you should probaly rest a while.

Stay mad kid.

>this doesn't happen if you work around these estranged functions and hours

Why does the machine tell me what and when I can work and when I can update? Why can't I use my computer outside these made up superfluous arbitrary work hours?

That's the point captain obvious, it's my computer and if I want to be exposed to that or solve it in any other way (back up, virtualization, sandboxing, network whitelisting..) it should be my fucking choice.

Two of the most famous worms from the 2000s, sasser/blaster, exploited vulnerabilities that had already been patched by time they were released into the wild. More recently you have things like Wanacry which, again, utilised exploits that anyone running up to date versions of Windows would not have been affected by.

You're either very young or just ignorant.

I've had next to 0 disk space for a while now and every time Windows tries to update it opens a box like that which is completely unclickoffable unless you hit more info, which brings up a new window for the updates page, which you then have to close.

It does this twice a day, and almost always when I'm in the middle of something. Recently all my icons went to the default blank white page icon, I'm almost certain it's to get me to free up space and download their botnet.

>updates are bad
>wannacry is bad

Pick one, retards.

>you need it because they said so

Fuck you my computer is a tool not some personified social media platform that gets to tell me I need to stop everything and restart

>Fuck you my computer is a tool
A tool in which you don't understand.
Want to see another tool? Check the mirror.

>Calling other people kids when you can't change simple group policy settings
So, stay retarded, retard

No they weren't. You're literally defending a garbage system that "needs" updates because it said so. Contributing to the false illusion that you need Microsoft and can't function normally on your own

>just blame the user

youtube.com/watch?v=sxXs0Yy5-0Y

...

>I have to edit policy settings in order to gain basic control over the OS
Brilliant.

>this nigger thinks Linux is somehow more secure
>he literally ignores all the enterprise system hacks

Security through ignorance, eh?

No a tool I command not a tool that commands me to work around the tools artificially generated limitations that didn't exist before.

I use my computer as part of a simulator for molecular modeling. Shit takes forever to fucking calculate. I don't need windows telling me that I need to stop my research and restart and lose hours of work because it says so. This is why I use windows 7 because it doesn't fucking bother me with ads and updates at arbitrary times and forces me to restart whenever it wants

I'm doing important shit. Those stupid "you're only allowed to set 12 active hours" is a bunch of bullshit made up by Microsoft

This is why windows 7 is superior. It doesn't advertise to me and doesn't shut off my computer on a whim

What's even the point of these things? You can just restore from your backup if that happens, surely?
